Anna came to the hospital to take a first 48 shoot of our first daughter. We were so excited and looked forward to sharing this new experience with our friends and family. Anna was punctual and professional and comforting. She worked smooth and immediately hit it off with our newborn Scarlett and we felt at ease through it all. She captured an array of shots with her that perfectly expressed our emotions boarding this new journey of parenthood and incorporated both myself and my boyfriend in the shots. We just had our 3rd or 4th session with Anna and, as usual, she worked wonders with not the easiest of subjects. We have a 5, 3, and 1 year old and to get all of them looking in her general direction at the same time is pure magic. She is so patient with them and tries to bring out their silly side. I had been waiting until we had all of our sessions with Anna to finally fill this review out. Anna has done an amazing job at every shoot we’ve done with her. We booked Anna for our son's one-year cake smash photo shoot and she was great. We agreed on a theme beforehand and on the day of the shoot, Anna brought a little set, some cute props and a cake smash outfit. Even though our baby was a bit hesitant with his smiles at first and didn't like getting dirty, she worked quickly and captured some adorable moments with him. As a new mom who wasn't quite comfortable with BF yet, Anna's in home service was perfect for me and my family. Rather than pack everything up and head to a studio that's unfamiliar you can relax & enjoy the comfort of being in your own home for the session. It also helps if you end up hating your outfit or need to fix your make-up!My son woke up a few times for the session when he was supposed to be sleeping. Anna worked her magic within moments he was back to dreaming about cats and milk. :)I highly recommend Anna. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
To make a photograph great, you have to capture natural and real emotions. Whether it be silly faces, corny jokes, or hugs and tickles, my goal is to create a warm and comfortable environment, so you don't realize there is a camera.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Who, what, when and why? After we get through the basics of what you're looking for I typically send you a questionnaire to ask more details about your family so that I may get to know you better and know how to plan for your session accordingly.
What do you love most about your job?
Making a personal connection with my clients is the best! Most of them become great friends and I enjoy watching their families grow! Also, working with newborns and babies means ALL THE SNUGGLES and who can complain about that!?
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always been behind the camera, however for many years it was a point and shoot! In 2013, I picked up my first DSLR and taught myself how to use it. Being a nanny for many years as well as years of experience with Autistic children it was a clear sign that I was a perfect fit for children and families. Starting my business was important for me particularity because it was something I loved to do so I would never have to "work" while making a living for my family.
Why should our clients choose you?
Experienced, Friendly & Affordable. All the traits you are searching for in a Newborn & Baby photographer. Not every photographer is the same and many don't have the training to work specifically with newborns. While you might find a "super cheap" photographer, be sure it's with someone who practices safe poses for newborns. You wouldn't pick a pediatrician who picked up a stethoscope yesterday just because they were the cheapest option! I pride myself in being affordable for new families looking for the luxury of newborn photography.
