I absolutely loved my session with Angela! She is very knowledgeable and paid close attention to what I needed to work on and challenged me to work the way I needed to work. I’m an instructor who didn’t train classically so she helped me understand the differences. It was so amazing to work on classical Gratz equipment and feel the method work in my body. Wish I lived closer to be able to study with her on the regular. If you are in the area, this is the studio to go to! More...

I’ve been taking private lessons from Angela for the past 3 months and I’m already feeling significant changes in my body. My core strength has greatly improved and my lower back, which has given me problems for over two years, is no longer hurting! This is truly a miracle since I’ve had many months of physical therapy, chiropractic, and acupuncture for this same problem without getting any relief. Angela is an amazing and gifted instructor. As we work together and I get to know her better, I am increasingly impressed by her knowledge of human musculature and movement and her grasp of the art and philosophy of Pilates. As a teacher, she is awesome—kind and patient, always encouraging and never judgmental, and her attention to detail is incredible. She focuses intently on my form and movement during the exercises, correcting me as needed to make sure I’m getting the most from the workout without straining my back or neck. Though the exercises are challenging at times, they are varied and interesting and the hour goes by quickly. Angela’s teaching style and upbeat personality make the sessions fun and I always leave feeling energized and in good spirits. She has a way of keeping me motivated and inspired, which is a real gift to any student. Taking Pilates has been a life-changing experience for me and I attribute that entirely to Angela’s skill as a teacher. I’ve practiced Pilates for years and have found the BEST instructor in Angie at Angie’s Pilates Haus - much better than any other instructor I’ve worked with, every exercise feels so much more effective. She is meticulous, can see what your body needs and adjust on a dime, so fun to work with, and always gives you extra attention. I have a couple of back issues from old injuries and from traveling every single week on flights: without Pilates my body would be falling apart, but with weekly privates from Angie EVERYTHING has improved. We’ve witnessed it in progress videos as well. Also, as a 27-year old lover of hard, intense workouts - people don’t think of Pilates as cardio, but I am sweating heavily and working so hard in every session. Thank you Angie for transforming my body and making it so I can keep doing the things I love to do - surf, swim, run, bike, high intensity workouts, travel. Angela is so amazing. She's so good at what she does. Most men don't do Pilates but they need to. I challenge you men out there to incorporate Pilates into you work outs to complete your strength and mobility movements. You might even give up the "rigid" monotonous gym regimen and start really challenging your body. Angela is an incredible instructor. She is able to quickly assess strengths and weakness in her clients and make adjustments throughout each exercise. Her studio allows for very personal instruction with no more than three students per semi-private class. She is also a warm and friendly person and always ensures her students are challenged but precise in their movement. Even one weekly session per week with Angela will provide you with the tools to improve your pilates practice and feel the results more quickly than any typical group class with a large number of reformers/mixed equipment. Angela’s Pilates Haus is my favorite place to practice Pilates. Angela has a keen eye that is quick to discern weaknesses and imbalances in your body. She easily comes up with adjustments to help you achieve optimal results with each exercise. I love the personal attention with the small classes as well as Angela’s precision with each exercise. Angela helped me identify and address a glute imbalance had been affecting me. I am so thankful to her for helping me figure out exercises and pointers to address my malalignment.In addition to being a fantastic teacher, Angela also has a very clean and beautiful studio. Filled with inspiring Pilates posters (some day I hope to look at least half that good!), the studio also has an amazing view of Mission Bay. I became acquainted with Angela when she was completing her bridge program in 2014. She had a keen eye then, and continues to, about what a body needs and which Pilates exercises will improve it's function and movement. Angela presses you to your potential, and more, while being very supportive and encouraging. Angela stays true to the original method as taught by Joseph Pilates. She continually educates herself by attending workshops and taking lessons from such "Pilates greats" as Moses Urbano, Chris Robinson, and so many more. I have been working with Angela for the past 7 months and it has completely changed my body and my own Pilates practice.  I have been practicing Pilates since i was 16 and in San Diego for the last 4 years. Angela has helped me to strengthen the underlying weaknesses in my body to help me grow in my Pilates practice.  She is very knowledgeable, friendly, funny and kind but pushes you to work at your best level and challenges you to push yourself to the next level.   There are a lot of choices for Pilates in San Diego but thanks to Angela's small semi-private group setting and state of the art equipment, her studio is one of the best I have experienced in San Diego. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I highly recommend Angie's Pilates Haus for anyone interested in starting Pilates, looking to advance their pilates practice, recovering for an injury, or just looking to become stronger throughout the core stabilizers.  I have been to several pilates studios in San Diego from big studios with several students to one instructor as well as private one on one sessions. I have to say Angela is by far the best pilates teacher I have come across! As a former professional dancer, she is excellent at giving you cues to find the right alignment and activate the proper muscles throughout each sequence to maximize your performance as well as minimize the risk of injury. On top of being extraordinarily well versed in her craft, Angela hits the nail on the head when it comes to making the customer feel strong, positive and encouraged. When I took a private Pilates lesson from Angela, she was simultaneously 100% professional and capable as well as personable and compassionate. I have done pilates at several different studios, and with many different teachers, but none can even begin to compare to Angela. Angela pays attention to you in a way that I have not seen anywhere else- she fine tunes every class to make sure that I'm reaching my individual goals, regardless of whether she's seeing me in private or in a large class.  I started seeing Angela about a year ago, and in the first week she became incredibly aware of my body's strengths and weaknesses. Since the first session, my body has transformed. When I leave Angela's class, I am tiiiired and sore in all of the right places, whereas at other pilates studios I feel like I've hardly gotten a workout. Not only am I generally much stronger and leaner as a result of Angela's pilates, but I have also seen drastic improvements in areas that I've told her I wanted to strengthen. As a surfer, I've wanted to work on my paddling and pop-ups, and Angela has given me specific exercises that have helped me reach my goals. Angela is a professional, both as a teacher and as a learner. She is patient, kind, and pushes herself to give her students the best workout. She is constantly attending Pilates workshops to incorporate new aspects into our pilates class.  Angela has transformed my body, both in and out of the water, and I always look forward to her classes! As I recovered from a surgery that required five months in bed, my physical therapist mentioned to me that Pilates would help me regain strength. I made local inquiries and was struck by Angela's conversation with me. She told me that she had worked with other physically compromisedwomen and was helpful. I decided to work privately with Angela and was so pleased with how she was able to strengthen my body. Often she had to use alternate exercise methods due to my very weakened musculature. She made me strong! I was able to return to standing taller, walking sounder, with a new and very strong core.It was apparent to me that Angela is an extremely knowledgeable Pilates instructor. I can't say enough great things about Angela. I have taken a lot of pilates reformer classes and should be at a level 2. However, Angela has taught me how to correctly use and activate my core via mat work. We are working towards strength and fitness as well as PT for my back. She is awesome and after only 2 sessions I feel an immediate difference, for the better, with my low back pain. She definitely has a passion for her work and her clients. I love that she participates in my workout and makes sure I am isolating the muscles needed to make a difference in my life. Angela is such a wonderful teacher I don't even know where to begin writing about her! She stays true to the classical Pilates style and her knowledge of human anatomy surpasses many of the teachers that I have taken lessons from. Never have I experienced lessons from an instructor whose verbal and tactile cuing were so spot on. This has been EXTREMELY important for me as I started taking private lessons from her shorty after having hip surgery. She was able to work me out without putting me at risk of other injuries and staying within my limitations. I left every session with her feeling AMAZING. She was able to correct my imbalances and helped me regain my mobility, strength and build a better body awareness! Angela has such a warm and friendly personality that working with her is joy. Angela is the real deal. I have taken Pilates in various forms for many years, from Groupon offers at big studios (huge mistake, don't do it!) to smaller classes at gyms, even private lessons elsewhere. Angela is by far the best Pilates instructor I've ever encountered. She has a real love for her work, which manifests itself in her enthusiastic, positive, and CORRECT instruction. So many people just show you exercises and don't really bother to make sure you're doing things correctly, or they try to integrate "crowd pleaser" exercises which have no base in true Pilates, meaning you get zero benefit. But Angela will make sure you understand exactly how to do each exercise, and doesn't try to mix in crackpot exercises that aren't true Pilates and do you no good! I am a professional ballet dancer, and a few months ago I had surgery on my ankle. I could not bear any weight on it at all for over a month, and I was so frustrated and discouraged by my limitations and sitting around idle. Angela was able to work around my injury and kept me strong without putting me at risk. These lessons were the only thing during that period that made me feel like I was accomplishing anything! Now that I'm coming back from my injury, I can guarantee that I'm coming back stronger thanks to Angela and her excellent Pilates instruction. One thing I can guarantee if you give her a try (and you should): no matter how tired, frustrated, or unmotivated you feel; whether you're an athlete looking for cross training or need to kickstart a New Year's resolution; even if you have a difficult injury to work around, you will leave your lessons with Angela feeling better about yourself, with your spirits lifted, and your body healthier and stronger. It doesn't get much better than Angela in my opinion! I've been training with her since she started. I'm a professional ballerina, and have been doing pilates for many years and I have yet to find someone as great as Angela. As a former ballet dancer herself, she has an greater understanding of the body and how the exercises should look and feel. She has kept my body strong and injury free! in a lot of the studios around town they add in exercises that are workout based, and not classical pilates. Angela only sticks to classical gratz training. I religiously see her 3 times a week and have never felt better! Plus, she's lovely to be around and extremely professional. More...

I debated whether or not to write this review, mostly because I want to keep this hidden gem ALL TO MYSELF.  Not only do I get an incredible sweaty workout but I have also been able to rehab my injuries. Five weeks into Angela's private sessions (once a week), I was feeling significantly better and am now able to stop taking my medication that has horrible side effects.  Angela makes a point of telling you exactly where you should feel each move, and if you weren't feeling it in the specific place, what you should adjust. My glutes thank her.  But more importantly every workout is FUN and I could feel myself elongating with every passing minute. More...
