About

I am a Wedding Photographer and love my job! I aim to capture genuine pictures filled with love and emotion. I aim to photograph natural moments throughout your day, taking shots of important details and plenty of your guests. I will spend time with you both as a couple to create a few posed shots but will get you back to the party as quick as possible.

Andy beautifully captured my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary, he was extremely professional, relaxed and blended into the background to get those all important natural shots. From start to finish Andy was amazing! We will definitely be coming to him for all future events thank you again for everything Andy. More...

We used Andy for our wedding in May. He did a fantastic job and worked tirelessly throughout the day, even in very changing weather conditions! We are very pleased with the finished results and have some amazing photographs to remember our day with. I would definitely recommend Andy to anyone looking for a photographer. More...

We had our engagement/family shoot and wedding photography done by Andy. we warmed to him straight away he is amazing. Our photos came out beautiful, we couldn't have asked for anything more from him. My husband is not one for having his photo taken but Andy makes you feel at ease and comfortable and he admitted he quite enjoyed having his photo taken after all we will definitely use Andy for any future shoots. We had a family photo shoot with Andy a few days ago. With two small children (2 and 1), we were nervous whether it would be possible to keep them happy and entertained for the shoot, let alone whether we would manage to get any photos. Andy was brilliant from start to finish- completely professional at the same time as putting both children at ease, so much so that our youngest kept trying to have cuddles and photos with him! He kept them happy with new games and ideas which would get great photo opportunities as well. When we received the photos just a couple of days later, we were really pleased. So many lovely shots of them it's impossible to choose the best for framing! Thank you Andy! We will definitely be coming back for more photos and wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to any friends and family! More...

We gave Andy a slightly different challenge than usual; to come with us on one of our Sunday morning walks with our blonde collie, Jaden. The occasion was our 26th Wedding Anniversary (pictures), and the venue was the woodland surrounding Minley, where we were married 26 years ago. With a clear blue sky, on a crisp Winter's morning, Andy captured the true essence of our love for each other and a place that remains very special in our hearts. Andy's easy-going style immediately put us at ease, for what was a most enjoyable walk... but don't just take my word for it, take a look at some of the photos that are published here, they say it all :) More...

Q&A

Keeping it natural!! Light is also very important. The two combined can make very powerful photographs. A good photographer should understand light and if there is no light they need to understand flash in order to create their own light. I have attended courses in using flash at weddings by world leading ambassadors in their field. These courses are expensive. I opt to attend these courses because far too many times I have been contacted by dissapointed couples who booked photographers who were "natural light" photographers and their photos came out awful and unusable.

My advice to any couple looking to book a photographer is to check their portfolio and ask them how they will cope if there is little light (example a winter wedding or a dark venue) or what will happen if it rains. A professional photographer should be able to put your minds at rest and reassure you both.

I also strongly advise an engagement shoot for couples getting married. I understand they cost more money, however many packages include them and it is always worth negotiating a free engagement shoot with your photographer (should I have said that? :-)). They allow you to get to know your photographer and feel at ease. If you are like me then you hate your photo being taken!!! Correct posing is important and lets face it, we all want to look our best in our photos. For us fellas, we may have a bit of chin action going on. Lifting our head up and leaning forward slightly reduces this. For the ladies, however slim you are, you always want to look more slender but with a nice curve. By moving the arms away from the body prevents "fat arms" and the way you stand can make your profile narrower. There are lots of tricks. But above all its about having fun. Engagement shoots can be taken at any location you choose. Where you met. A favourite place. London at night. I recently saw some shots from a car museum - sounds boring but they looked great fun!

What is your budget? This is not because I want to make as much money as I can but many people do not fully understand how much it costs to run a business and buy expensive equipment. For this reason it is sometimes best to be up front so you don't disappoint later.

I have two jobs!! I am a Detective Sergeant in London and see some awful sights. When I started photography I began with family photo shoots before progressing to weddings as my experience grew. I love both styles of photography because I see many happy people which is so different to policing. I often get people say that I have captured a specific moment so well and that I have a "good eye". It isn't training or experience that allows for this but in my view something subconscious. It's as if I'm honed in to capturing that special moment that makes a memorable picture.

I love being my own boss! Running my business efficiently is a challenge. When I started I thought being a photographer was only about taking good pictures - boy was I wrong!! Paying tax. Insurance. Advertising and getting new business. It all needs to be done.

Meet me and I hope you will find a person that is determined to capture your memories in the best way possible. A chap that is down to earth and friendly. Above all trustworthy. My photos aren't bad either! :-)
