The Andrea Marsavonian School of Music offers private half hour, 45 minute and 1 hour piano lessons, for adults and youngsters. Students learn how to read and count their music. They learn how to develop their "chops" (their technique!). They learn theory in every lesson.

I took lessons from Ms. Andrea for many years. She's not what I'd call your average teacher. What can I say folks... what a gem she is and a rare find. Her wonderful personality and passion for teaching everyone from adults to children, her skills and training, and her amazing piano playing will make u fall off your chair. Andrea was my teacher for two years when I lived in Virginia. She is simply awesome. If I lived anywhere in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, you better believe that not only I but also my two little boys would be taking piano lessons with her. Andrea is an exceptionally talented pianist. She has perfect pitch and can play anything. I remember when she worked with me to put together a customized arrangement of Danny Boy, my father's favorite song. Ms. Marsavonian is at the top of her class as an instructor, she has the patience of an angel and takes the time to ensure that her pupils understand every phase of their lessons. What an excellent pianist she is in addition to teaching. She hears everything, every note and nuance of the music she so obviously loves. What do you love most about your job?
When a student tells me, "I never knew I could DO that!", it is a golden moment for both of us! I cherish the relationships with my students and our time together. The keyboard is our laboratory! It is also a place of discovery! It affords each student an opportunity to learn not only how to play the piano well, but also to learn awesome things about himself! When we learn with a complete understanding of what we are learning, this knowledge is truly empowering! It results in the ability to play with love AND conviction AND accuracy! It is indeed a most exciting process in growth and maturity, regardless of the age of the student! Whether one is a beginner or well advanced, I love the opportunity to share with others, what was so carefully shared with me.
What inspired you to start your own business?
When I was born, I was born with music inside me! I am a student of all life. I know that music is a most special gift from our Creator and that life is celebrated in music. The love of music is a personal experience, begun ideally, in our families! The beauty and often the excitement shared in music, is sheer joy that each of us needs and can enjoy. Music and the love of it, can indeed bring more balance into our lives. Operating my own school of music ensures that the standards for my teaching are not compromised by the policies of those schools, which are dedicated primarily to high enrollments and far greater profits.
Why should our clients choose you?
Often, I am told that a student has already studied piano for 2, 3 or MORE years. Today it is rare that I can tell that they have had this length of prior study.
I have to wonder what they were paying for in these lessons, when they don't know how to count their music, have not even been taught how to play C,G or F
major scales, do not know chords or how to use them, have not been shown how to use the pedals and there is little, if any, hand development. This is not what I would wish for anyone!! It is beyond unfair. It is wrong and the student has been wronged.
To compound matters, many teaching materials have been "dumbed down" and have a built-in promise that a student will remain a Beginner for a VERY Long Time! This is unacceptable.
Have had astonishing results working with a few Special Needs students. Patience and Consistent at-home parental support make this possible!
