What makes a great website?
A great website is not all about looks, some people are obsessed with the look of a website but a website needs to work hard to capture the attention of a visitor as that is the whole point.
Of course the look is important but it needs to be designed with conversion in mind whatever a conversion maybe.
A conversion could be a telephone call, the filling in of a contact form or maybe a click elsewhere, for example, Facebook.
There needs to be a clearly thought out process behind the design, the site should capture the visitor and then take them on a journey.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
How serious are you about the project? (A website, for example, is a project that needs a good amount of attention)
Do you have any similar sites that you like? (This is often good for a designer to get an idea of your preferences)
Do you have a logo, colour scheme and existing branding? (Obviously, the site design needs to reflect your brand)
Do you already have a website or have you had one previously? (In some cases we can just give an existing site an overhaul)
Do you know much about a website and what is involved with keeping it up to date? (This is quite important, we can help)
Will you be blogging or vlogging? (This is great for marketing and search)
Do you have an existing email address?
Do you use social media for your business such as Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube or Facebook? Each of these channels can open your business up to wider audiences.
