I have just had another shoot with Akki and she did not disappoint. This time it was for a maternity shoot (previously it had been for branding). The final images are breathtaking works of art. As someone who normally feels awkward in front of the camera she made me look like I do this stuff all of the time! I have found that many photographers kind of leave you to it when it comes to posing and you are never sure that you are doing the right pose or if it will look any good. Akki directs you so that you get the absolute best photo possible. Her excitement when she gets what she is looking for is so reassuring. My experience with Akanksha was fantastic, she made me feel comfortable from the point of booking my session right until the purchase of my pictures. Akanksha was always available to answer any queries and made a special effort before the shoot day to find out about my likes and dislikes. The result was photographs that I loved!! I confidently and proudly showed my family and friends my maternity photographs. I would definitely recommend Akanksha to anyone thinking of having a maternity photoshoot as she ensures they are unique but within your comfort remit. She made me feel confident at a time when women can often have lots of insecurities about their bodies! What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Connection! There are always the right ingredients to make a dish. However, if there's no salt, even the best dish is tasteless. Similarly, A good picture is made up of an awesome light, brilliant makeup and hair, right styling, perfect posing, just the right retouching and great connection. If everything's fine but there's no connection in the picture, it will appear lifeless.

What inspired you to start your own business?
I always loved dressing up people and doing their hair and then taking pictures of them (using a cell phone camera). It gave me a sense of deep satisfaction by making them feel confident. I wanted to take this to the next level. I learned photography, build a portfolio that I am proud of, and took it as a profession. There's a great joy in making people feel empowered and good about themselves. It's like letting them see themselves how the world or their loved ones see them - Beautiful & Special!
