After spending the last two years trying to build and manage my own home made website and continuously making changes, I was getting stressed out.
I realised that the quality of our website didn't match the quality of our service. I then realised that I'm a personal trainer, not a web designer, so it was time to focus on what I'm good at and hire professionals to do what they do best.
I searched google and the first name i saw was AWD. We had a look at their portfolio, and called them straight away.
Richard invited us in for a meeting and within minutes we felt confident in their ability, so when they showed me what they can do I actually laughed. I couldn't believe the quality of their work and how poor it made my home made website look. This was a humbling experience but I suppose thats why I was there so we started to get excited.
We gave Richard a few ideas of what we were looking for and I remember him saying 'thats exactly what we were thinking' so I knew we were all on the same page and it made the whole process a lot more efficient.
The initial drafts were awesome. We were so happy with what was being produced, we started showing clients the updates before it was even ready and everyone agreed how good it was looking.
Ironically, Richard falls into our target market, so we actually asked him to make the website so appealing that he considers signing up with us, and with that, everything his team done was exactly what we needed from a website.
The idea of the website being content managed was exciting. I know what message I want to get across, so to have control of what pictures and text go where was a great project for me to be involved in. I couldn't believe how simple it was, and what I loved was regardless of how small my questions or problems, all I had to do was drop Richard an email or phone call and they were always there to help. Once the website went live, we were so proud and it really has catapulted our business in the right direction. The feedback we have received has been great and we now fill so confident that it matches the quality of our company. It's really difficult to stand out in such a saturated market, but now we do, in a big way. The price was very competitive. We are also in an industry where you get what you pay for, and that is exactly what we got using AWD.
I still pop in now and again to see Richard and his team, I have also recommended AWD to two of our clients and will continue to do so without hesitation.

Chris (the owner) and his team replaced a faulty shower for me several years ago. The job entailed ripping out the old plumbing, tray and drain and then re-building everything using new components: mixer unit, shower tray, glass shower enclosure and tiles. They also replaced the WC and sink vanity unit and built a bespoke cupboard unit and fitted shelving to maximise use of the available space.Chris gave useful design advice at the outset and his team did an impeccable job of fitting the shower room out and at a very reasonable cost.I was so pleased with the work I have since used them on a couple of other projects involving new bathrooms and also fitting a new kitchen as their skills are very transferable to putting up kitchen units along with the associated plumbing and tiling works. What makes a great website?
We believe that a great website should visually inspire its visitors and create an immediate perception which is a true representation of the business.
A great website will have been designed to specifically target the key demographic of the business, whilst at the same time fully representing and strengthening its brand and ethos.
To create a great website that will stand out from the crowd it is essential to avoid using templates and so all of our designs are completely unique to that customer.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
In order to deliver a great website it’s important that we firstly understand the business and therefore we have developed a number of standard questions that ensure we can do that effectively.
Some examples of our key questions would be:

As the owner of the business I enjoy getting to know a little bit about other industries and I particularly like the reaction when a customers first sees our initial design concept, as in almost all cases not only have we met their expectations, but have greatly exceeded them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I set up the business in 1999 when very few companies had websites. At the time I believed that the internet and websites were going to be very important in the future and so i gave up my job as a Commercial Manager in a national organisation to pursue my goals of creating a website design agency.

We don't use run-of-the-mill templates for our websites. In fact, we don't use any templates - we had craft each website to your exact requirements!
