The 3 hour DJ course we did with Jules was excellent and great value for money. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to learn all the essentials quickly to get you going. Jules is a sound guy with a great studio, and he is very knowledgeable about all the equipment and various techniques you can use to DJ. A+ More...

We had a great time learning how to mix records and had a lot of fun playing with the software and creating our own mix! Thanks Jules

I've been going to Jules for over 4 years now and I've learned everything I know about making dance music from Jules. I'd recommend Jules to anyone and his studio in Brick lane is great. I've gone from not knowing where to even begin to make a tune to being able to do it on my own to a good standard. More...

I have been having lessons with Jules for over a year now, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Jules has taught me everything I know about Ableton music software, such that I am able to navigate it on my own in my own time, but there is still so much more to learn! Jules is very down to earth, always makes me feel at ease, and is a great teacher. He really flexible and happy to either structure the lessons himself or let me suggest areas which i would like to work on. Whether you are completely new to music or would like to become better, he is your man. More...

I would firstly say that I would recommend Jules to anyone first of all he is a great character and very welcoming it doesn't seem like you are having a session with a mentor he makes it fun and is very easy to engage with, secondly he was very specific on what I needed to improve on and knew exactly what steps I had to take to make my weaknesses stronger, since having the 2 sessions I have had with him I have grown in confidence and find it a lot easier when I am behind the decks and he gave me pointers on what I have practice on at home since then have a few events lined up which is all down to his help. THANKS Jules!

I can't rate this experience high enough. For what we paid it was more than worth it on the Groupon.Jules was so knowledgeable and professional that he made any issues with technique or skills seem so insignificant it felt like you were a top DJ! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this session or book again.Jules has produced a mix I can keep forever and that is value in itself. Thanks so much!! More...

Had a great 6 hour session learning about how to VJ from Nick Hope. The first half was a bit of theory then we started to get to grips with the software (Modul8). The second half of the course was full immersion in the practical side, working with a projector while Nick helped me to use my own graphics to create new and original visuals. This course is a great way to get yourself up and running as a VJ! More...

I have done two courses at Abstract Source, firstly the music production course and secondly the DJ crash course. Both were brilliant and Jules clearly has talent and also patience to coach people successfully. The time passed really quickly and I felt I encompassed a lot in the time. I'd done a music technology degree but even with that the course taught me so much I didn't know and as a beginner on the decks after a couple of hours I was blending tracks seamlessly! Thoroughly recommended to beginners and experienced people alike and excellent value for money. More...

While looking for a electronic music production course in London, I did some research on the schools that I initially found on the web. 90% of them I immediately decided not to give a chance due to the lack of songs produced by their tutors. The other 10% were the expensive ones and after visiting them I realized that they weren't worth the hype at all. When I was almost forgetting about the course, I saw Abstract Source's website and I could not believe that the guy that had produced all those amazing songs was giving lessons, specially with that price. I decided to meet him and I saw that I had finally found the place to be.It was definitely the best choice. I learnt so much things about music production in so little time. The classes were so much fun and full of information. It was a great experience learning and sharing the same passion which is electronic music. Now after finishing this course I can say that I made a really good friend and hopefully a future music partner!! More...

Having played around with CD decks and DJing software for years this course was great to go back to the basics and develop some fundamental skills, particularly with vinyl. The beat mixing session was fantastic and because there are only two people in the class, Jules was able to help each person advance from the skills they already had. This is a great course not only for beginners but for anyone wanting to advance their expertise and credibility. More...

Excellent experience! I was always curious about DJing and wanted to experience it, so this DJ course was exactly what I needed to experience that. Although a whole day course may sound too much, the course is far from tiring or boring. The instructor Jules is a very friendly and nice guy and he structured the course in a way that everybody can enjoy it. Mixing enough theory and loads of practice the course is a lot of fun. The location is also nice, so during the lunch I hanged out with Jules around brick lane and tried the local food while talking about music. I totally recommend it and I am already booking another course! More...

These guys not only know a lot about what they're doing, but they are also fantastic in teaching it.As an amateur who has never put his hands on a deck/keyboard I have to say that I've truly enjoyed the 6 hours session. The beat session with Jules was absolutely authentic. He takes you through every step with clarity and (a lot of) patience. At the end of over 3 hours we actually came out with a pretty decent beat...At that point I was already feeling like a very happy child.I didn't know what was coming until Tim appeared in the room. This is an amazingly talented and passionate scratcher and hip-hop lover who can do pretty much everything on the deck. He teaches you a variety of scratches and he cares a lot about what you're doing there. At the end of the session I was exhausted but extremely happy and satisfied. These guys take their job extremely seriously and care a lot about students. It has been a true pleasure.
