A Wonderland of Food

If I could give Alison and Wendy a 10, I would.  They catered a small dinner party for me while I was visiting Portland.  EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING was perfect, from the service to the food.  From the first appetizer to the amazing dessert, my guests could not stop raving about the food.  There was no uneaten food left on any plate, and my guests gave them a resounding round of applause as Alison and Wendy left our little party.  The added bonus was the sparkling clean kitchen, down to cleaning the coffee press we had used in the morning.  I might have to make up an excuse to visit Portland again and host another party! Alison is not just a talented chef, she is personable, funny, efficient and well worth contacting when you need someone to do the heavy food lifting for your next function. Our kick-off to the holiday season was a work party in our home. Along with her capable assistant Hilary, Alison ensured the food was delicious, fresh, and easy to manage while standing with a wine glass in hand. Alison was amazing. She was great at communicating prior to the event and working on a menu together. We actually decided to cater our event with Indian food and all our guests were very impressed with the quality of food as well as the service. We used a Wonderland of Food for a corporate event earlier this month. It was a 5-hour event with passed apps the whole time.  Alison provided all of the food, servers, and bar tenders. We chose them based on their responsiveness, great menu options, and flexibility.  We got great reviews on the food and Alison went above and beyond trying to get our sliders to look like little basketballs!  One of my business managers said that they were hands down the best caterer they have used in the Portland area.  I  highly recommend A Wonderland of Food for your next corporate event. Earlier in January 2018 I visited Portland OR and had the absolute pleasure of enjoying a small dinner party prepared by Allison Wonderland Tucker (a Wonderland of Food). She welcomed me into her home and I met some of her (& her husband's) friends, the feeling was warm and inviting.  Allison has a gift to make guests feel welcomed with both her charming demeanor and her delicious food (d'uh).Before I mention what she prepared for her main dish, I MUST point out that the snacks/finger food were perfect; an olive tapenade and a butternut squash & blue cheese spread that were to go on slivers of toasted baguette.  What made these ridiculously amazing appetizers was that she baked the baguettes too, fresh made bread!!!! I was blown away and frankly, I didn't think the squash and blue cheese would work BUT let me tell you.....the sweetness of the squash paired perfectly with the creaminess of the blue cheese.  I nearly devoured the whole bowl of that myself.For the main, she made 2 polenta tortas.  2 of them, and color coded! One was colored red, the other colored green.  Since this was a couple weeks ago, I unfortunately do not remember her secret ingredients but rest assured, it was delicious and perfect.  The tortas were light and yet satisfying.  I was completely taken aback.  how could I have 3 plates and yet not feel stuffed?That's just some of the magic that Allison can conjure.  I highly recommend you (& all of your friends) hire her immediately to feed your crew, whether it is a party of 50 folks or an intimate dinner party of 10.  Do yourself a favor Portland area.  A Wonderland of Food is totally worth it; delicious YES, surprising ABSOLUTELY, overwhelming NOPE.  Allison and the food she prepares are lovely!I am one satisfied customer who now considers Allison a friend More...
