A Special Event DJ & Photo Booth

We hired ASDJ for our wedding this September and they were great! Tim was responsive and made sure that we had a solid plan for the day of our wedding day. We were lucky enough to get Cody as our DJ and we LOVED him. He was on top of everything and made the reception run smoother than we could have imagined. I used ASDJ for their photo booth. They were professional, communicative and the attendant (whose name I cannot remember for the life of me) was super sweet. The book they put together for us is amazing and I really appreciate the thumb drive! The only draw back (and this really isn’t their fault) is that greenery backdrop I paid extra for doesn’t really show in the pictures because of the lighting in the venue. Thank you, Tim and crew! We hired a Special Event DJ for our wedding this July, and it was worth every penny. This is a well-run business. They fit you with a DJ that will work best for your wedding and your vibe. Communication was great. Tim, the owner, answered all of my questions (there was a lot, he actually complimented me on them) in the beginning, and was very professional. Their online portal is a little confusing and I would have preferred to get the forms and download them and fill them out that way, but I found out a little too late. Anyway, they did sound for both our ceremony and reception. Huge shout out and props to CODY, our DJ, who I would recommend to ANYONE and EVERYONE! I swear he was more than a DJ - it felt like he was our night of event coordinator and thank God because my ADHD brain was NOT going to get anything done in the moment (too happy? Too much wine…). Cody was really fantastic. I didn’t know we needed a pre-party phone call because I’m pretty laid back, but it ended up being such a great choice! We got to know Cody (who you’ll just want to be friends with after your wedding), but he also got some things cleared up and made sure he knew what songs to play when, how to say our weird family names, and what kind of vibe we were going for. Night of - I underestimated some of our guests. I thought it was going to be very low key, but thankfully Cody and a few of our more extroverted friends got people on the dance floor. Thanks Cody, for not making too much fun of us slow dancing the chicken dance to “Groovy Kind of Love.” It’s a New Girl reference. We’re obnoxious super-fans…. Not the kind that has t-shirts and wall decor, but who just spends half the day speaking to one another in New Girl quotes. Anyway, I could go on and on, but in short - HIRE THEM!

Let me start off by saying that our DJ was fantastic. Her name was Mara and she definitely knew what she was doing. Everyone at the wedding have a great time, and she certainly deserves that credit.

The only bad part about this company is that the planning professionals are separate from the DJs. Our DJ was perfect. But the people that helped us plan could be pushy and when they offered advice, it came off a little condescending. I took advice from a lot of my vendors, and sometimes the planning professionals at this company just rubbed me the wrong way. More...

Dj played songs he wasnt supposed to did not dress up as he was supposed to. Business didnt respond to email about experience. Very disappointed. Problems playing a song that was a must. No explanation why. Photobooth was ok few errors ,blurred pictures. Odd camera angles in a couple but not upset about that part. More...

Dustin & Jill were great to work with - everything went smoothly and our crowd had a blast on the dance floor. We used the photobooth & it was quite a hit, they were able to use my design for the strips, which was a great added bonus. Dustin did our wedding party entrance to the Bulls intro theme (not an easy task) and totally nailed it.

The only thing I was disappointed in is that their URL was on our photostrips after I had confirmed this would be removed, and the strips were kind of wonkily cut (I'm a type A so noticed this). Also, some coordination with their planner, Ellie, was a little difficult at times, but it all got smoothed out in the end. More...

Kelsey, our DJ was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She made our wedding day amazing and literally had to kick us off the dance floor at the end of the night :) When pics took a little longer than expected, she turned on Disney music to entertain and give the little ones time to dance before the dance floor filled up.
