What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing small businesses succeed with the right kind of support. You can be an expert in your profession, but that is not the same as being an expert financial manager. There is no shame is getting that help and support in order to spend more time on your business. I have the experience and background to provide that help. I am an ex-head of financial strategy and planning for a government department and grew up in a small business environment, working for my Dad at weekends and holidays from school and university. I had to become a bit of an all-rounder fitting in where he needed the work most, but the finance management became the most interesting for me.
What inspired you to start your own business?
It has to be my background (see above). After 14 years working for the government, studying financial management, and then 10 years of working with charities and becoming a trustee dealing with their finances, I felt I needed to be my own boss and do my own thing - put my money where my mouth is I suppose, and do what I was telling everyone else to do!
And I am loving it!
Why should our clients choose you?
I have lots of financial training, but I am not an accountant. My government colleagues used to call me the 'expert generalist' because I can translate what the accountants are telling you, put it into plain English and show you what you need to do. I can give you the financial clarity you need on your business operations, explain what you need to do and what you can leave to your accountants. I can also show you where you can make savings and ways you can grow your business by making little changes that will have big effects in your profits. A win-win for you I believe.

All my services can be (and currently are) done remotely.
When circumstances change, face to face meetings will be possible again.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
All my work is done remotely using Zoom meetings or telephone calls. I send files to clients digitally so they can download and print them safely.

I write business plans that work in line with your business aims and objectives. I provide all the financial statements that you need, including cash flow forecasts. This means I help you manage your budgets so you know where your cash is, and what you need in order to grow your business successfully.
