My wife and I recently had Ray with "A Great Video" shoot pics and video for our daughter's coming of age ("Sweet 15"/Quince). His photography and videography on the finished product were better than we had envisioned. Not only did he do an amazing job, he was an absolute pleasure to work with. Throughout the process Ray was very professional, detailed, patient and just a great person. By the end of our trip and our sessions, we felt we had made a friend. Ultimately, we got "A Great Video" and a great experience! More...

We gave Ray at A Great Video, videos and stills of our family that we shot with our phones. He took it, put it to music and created a great story for our family to enjoy for years to come. The next family gathering we have, we will ask Ray to shoot the videos and stills to get an even better video story. We might even have him shoot a couple of drone shots of the children and family playing games, etc. He delivered the finished product on time and was always professional. More...

Ray was fantastic! I had a pretty tight budget and he was able to meet it perfectly. He really captured some amazing candid shots of each member of my (large) family and I was so happy with the end results. Thank you so much Ray for being fantastic! More...
What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
So what is it that makes a photo great, is it the camera, the lens the subject? No, it's composition. Angles, lighting, foreground, mid-ground, background, framing, this is what my eye sees when I look in the lens.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
It's important to me to be able to understand the clients goals and visions of the project. Questions like; Where will it be shown, is this for the web, a movie, or just a classroom projector, each require different styles and file formats. Will we be shooting indoors or out, will there be multiple cameras needed? Will background music or special effects or titles be required. All of these questions help me to better understand the project ahead.
What do you love most about your job?
As a photographer or videographer, it is my job to capture brief moments of time, moments that may never come again. To take these moments and use them like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle to build a the final picture. My goal is to use my skills to recreate that moment in time, to project the feeling and emotion of that moment. When done correctly it takes the viewer back, back in time to the instant of that cameras click. This is what I look for, this is what I love.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I first started shooting photos and videos for friends and family, mostly documentary style travel videos of places my wife and I have visited. After hearing over and over " Wow! That was a great video", I knew that i was able to get my messages across in film and photo.
Why should our clients choose you?
For over 40 years I worked in the music industry as an Audio Engineer, where logistics, professionalism and skill was a must. Here I learned quickly that " The show must go on", and when that curtain went up there were no second chances.
