Terrible company. Completely understaffed. They don't even have a customer service department for their contact now PBX service. Try to get any support and your are in a constant loop of transfers and excuses of people saying they don't do customer service for that service. I have been double charged by this company and have been waiting almost a month on the refund. I can't get any return calls or anyone to help me. Take your business elsewhere ! Buyer beware!!Update: I was credited by this company and it looks like their customer service is improving. They added a cs department for contact now. We have started a landscape and hardscape business in Houston recently. Just a small family owned organization with big dreams. In researching a phone option, I found 8X8 to be the exact match that we were looking for. The cost was low and keeps us going, but the features are the best. In the world of cellular phones, I have a personalized 8X8 auto-attendant message answering calls, and with a press of one button, customers and vendors get connected to the person or department that they need. No more answering and hanging around the phone at the office. Voice mail messages are emailed to me. I can listen and forward the voice mail to whom I need to handle the situation. They don't have to dial in or anything. The message is an attachment. Also, I get to set business hours, set messages, and control the phone system from an app and the website. Back in April, our town was hit with flooding rains and my office flooded and was hit by lighting. My entire phone system with 8x8 was fried. I had 8x8 app up on our cell phones, so I could help our clients in the community. In the meantime, I called 8x8 for help to purchase new phones. In the last 6 months. our company has expanded to include out of state offices, as well as new employees who telecommute from other parts of the world. Thanks to 8x8, we are able to function as a cohesive unit in a way that would have been impossible without such fantastic services. We are a temporary staffing firm based in Atlanta GA. We moved from a traditional POTS pbx to 8X8 voip cloud services about 9 months ago. We can not be happier with that move. The ability to have an accurate CALLER ID has been tremendous to us. We also love being able to use the click-to-pop dialing app. That feature alone has increased productivity over 15% by not having to manually dial numbers. The option of being able to do SMS texting has also increased our return call rate by over 25% over those calls where we just leave a voice mail message. I've had the pleasure of interacting more with 8x8 over the last year, after submitting my story for last year's contest. I have to say that I do not have a vendor that accepts and gives as much feedback as this one does. I run a team of account managers who are given company laptops and cell phones to be available after hours. Thanks to the 8x8 software and app, we are able to keep up with all communications, even when we're not in the office. This ability is absolutely invaluable to us. On top of this, as a manager I use the 8x8 reporting tools to show my leadership team how productive my agents are. Being able to show value in my department's work is invaluable to me as a leader. We are loving our 8x8! Our office prides itself on operating like a home, so we don't have a receptionist and our clinicians answer their own calls. But we were having to call people back from our intake line days later. That doesn't work well! We were missing calls. With the 8x8 system that allows all clinicians to be rang at the same time, we can now answer most of our intake calls without them having to leave voicemails. Our employees at Storix love the mobile app. Our business is driven by customer contacts, and we travel to several trade shows and tech expos each year to meet them face to face. A recent really cool story that happened in our office... My sister works for me and she was telling a story on how, it was really cool that she had gotten transferred to someone's cell phone, and that the guys was out of the office, and how great it would be if we had something like that.... So I told her we do!!!! Just hit transfer and enter whatever number you want the call to go too. So we tested it out in the office and everyone was like "no way!!!" What I love about 8x8 is the simplicity of the entire system. The ability to have our dedicated work lines be on both our desktop phone and our mobile phone makes life that much easier. There are many reasons to love 8x8. As an agency, we use 8x8 to quickly dial a number, send out faxes quickly and identify who is calling as soon as we answer the phone. We love 8x8 on the go as well, it makes it easy for anyone to answer a call while away from the office from any smartphone. I personally have used 8x8 to text a customer and gotten a ahold of them quickly that way. I find that someone will answer a text faster than picking up an incoming call or calling back on a missed call. It's definitely better than texting someone from my personal cell phone. Like many small businesses involved in the retail supply chain, my company began struggling with the major consolidations in the industry during the 2000's. By 2008, we had to start downsizing, and we moved to smaller office facilities and reduced personnel. We had a PBX system we had purchased some years before, and told our local phone company to move it to the new location for us, never even thinking about the cost. They charged us almost $2500 just to install our system, which had been purchased from them! 2 years later, our office building was sold, and we were forced to move again. This time, however, instead of moving our PBX system and phones, we walked away and left them behind, because we discovered 8x8. For less than $1,000, we bought our equipment and set up the new system in a matter of a few hours. I am a one man show competing against large companies, some with hundreds of employees. Thankfully, I use software that levels the playing field. Projecting a presence that is viable & capable is a challenge. It starts when they contact you or respond to your campaign. This is where 8x8 has enabled me to effectively appear on the front end, larger than I am. Using the tools & services that they offer allow me to always be the receptionist. Like; take an incoming call from me cell (the 8x8 app on my phone), when they need more information than I can give verbally I can put the caller on hold & transfer the caller to my PC phone where I have all of the tools & information. While they are on hold they listen to a brief infomercial with music. The callers experience of having contacted an office with dedicated - multiple lines, professional & helpful information while on hold and then having their questions or needs met while on their 1st call is so much different than answering a call from your cell phone, taking their information & calling them back from a different phone number. By the time that a customer has discerned the actual size of my company & have already won their confidence and they become even more impressed knowing that they are having a personal relationship with the service level of a staff. My boss is a perfectionist, but the good kind. She requires that everything we fax have a confirmation attached and placed in the employee folder. With 8x8 I get an email confirmation that I can attach to my fax and when I do a whole bunch at the same time I can go and click on the eye icon to match which fax went with which document. We changed 401(k) providers recently, and had to fax in all the enrollment forms. It was pretty crazy for awhile but every one of them was sent without a hitch. I know that 8x8 can do so much more for us, so I hope to someday soon dig into the benefits that are waiting for our company! More...

I love that I can run my psychotherapy private practice from anywhere. When we have clients we are in the office and I have a virtual mailbox for each of my staff to get confidential messages. When I am out of the office I have my line tethered to my cell phone so I can take calls and make appointments from home, or my beach vacation. Features like the auto attendant has allowed me to grow my business at my own pace without having to hire additional office help, or an answering service. We had an old Verizon phone system in our office about 3 years ago which worked fine in our then one location. When we decided to split our business into 2 separate offices and the old phone system could not handle it. Now, thanks to 8X8, when someone calls our main number they don't even realize when they press X1 it transfers them to a completely different town than X2 for instance. Another Great Plus is that the newer technology allows me to use my cell phone as not only an extension of the office phone but the office itself. We had been using another Company to host our VOIP services for several years. Aside from the constant service outages, we could never get answers as to how long the service would be down, the technical help was useless and the phones that they sold us for the system we terrible and they refused to swap them. Their website was useless and impossible to navigate. On top of it all, the charges were extremely high and they kept trying to lock us in to long term Contracts to save only a few dollars!!! We switched to 8 X 8, and everyone from the sales person to the technical help to the Managers have been wonderful!! The phones they sold us were reasonably priced and had the features that we wanted, their website is easy to use, the service has been excellent and most of all the price is right for a small business!! We are a fairly large and well known real estate firm in our area. Over a year and a half ago, we acquired a small office who had previously contracted with 8x8 for their phone needs and had nothing but positive comments about the service, equipment and cost. So, since that manager had no complaints we stayed with 8x8 and, that was #1 of 4 offices on 8x8. A few months later, we leased a new space for a second office that needed new IT and phone service. During the build out I did more inquiry into my VoIP options, both locally and nationally. Our local ISP also does VoIP installs and my inquiry confirmed that their offerings for VoIP equipment and software just could not measure up to what 8x8 offered us. So, we chose 8x8 and we now had our 2nd office of 4, utilizing the VoIP service and equipment with 8x8. Within 10 months, we moved into another new space that we had leased for another office, and again we needed new IT and Phones. Because of the previous experience with 8x8, we ordered new phones and service for that office. So, that is now #3 of 4 offices that are being served by 8x8. Those three offices are not huge but does give us a total of close to 30 extensions by Jan 1, in 3 offices. That's 3 or our 4 offices currently operating on 8x8. With each location the story was the same: 1. The first thing that was most impressive to me was the ease of installation. 2. The equipment arrived exactly as had been explained to me on the phone, within a few days. 3. There were no issues on the equipment models and features. 4. Follow up training and software configurations were also simple to create, change and implement. In today’s business world great support and customer service is rare, but our experience with 8x8 has been beyond my expectations. I would like to also add that the installation team from 8x8 was friendly, knowledgeable and helped us customize our features, naming, groups, etc, very simply and quickly. As the GM of Operations and IT, I took this on myself personally install as I frankly expected it to involve a considerable amount of "IT" type of time and insight. It was exactly the opposite and surprisingly simple. Once I completed the first phone, I sat back and just smiled and finished the remaining phones with computer hookups in less than 30 minutes. It is infrequent when one's expectations are exceeded, which 8x8 did and has done! It is rare to have IT installs go so easy and so nice when they do. In the future I can simply ship new phones to any of my offices and assign any of my managers or assistants to do the hardware installation. I can then manage the online setup from my desk at the main office. We also hope to bring our main office of 50+ phones online with 8x8 in 2016. More...

A quick call to ATT allowed all my cell phone calls to forward to my office line (after 3 rings) and then any missed call in the office becomes an email audio file. The entire process (including installation and setup) took less than 3 hours and my customers are totally blown away with all the new features they have. What we love the most is being able to have the app on our phone when our internet goes down and still being able to conduct business. Having the 8x8 app is amazing and a great feature. I have never had an issue with internal communications at our office. I love that fact. 8x8 has provided myself and my fellow coworkers flawless communication regardless of the location of the calls or the people on the line. The phone physically fits well in my desk, tucked in my shoulder, or in the palm of my hand; I never use my cell phone for calls when I am sitting at my desk. Instead of keeping our old system we went with your modern "cloud" VOIP solution and almost overnight we went from a can and string system to a modern sophisticated one. We now have a wonderful modern call center and our desk phones work flawlessly. Our 70+ lines work great. Should we need to forward our calls away from our desk phones we have the softphone, iPhone App and other options so we never miss a call. Great people do deal with too! Hats off to you guys! 8x8 has helped our office organize ourselves through out, in a way that is efficient for our small office, home offices, and its growth. 8x8 has easy to understand applications right down to the call logs for backup for telemarketing do not call list it is crucial, and ways to manage them getting the most out of employees and clients alike. 8x8 keeps staff knowledgeable by receiving emails about new product & services making knowledge of ignorance, because there is no time to learn webinars come in handy. I can't comment on the other reviewer's experiences but ours has been very positive. It took us a while to configure our system for our purposes but tech support was very helpful and after everything was setup, everything is working smoothly. Virtual Office and Virtual Meeting work hand-in-hand and we are enjoying easy conference calling every week. The connections have been good quality and consistent. We have no complaints with 8x8. I felt the service was terrific! Whenever I had questions they were answered quickly and with great detail on perhaps how I did not understand the account manager. I have been informed of how and what my new system does and I love it! I use many of the services that are available, at first just getting familiar with a VOIP system maybe be unfamiliar but I certainly feel the company did an excellent job helping me learn all my expectations of the services.
