We first met Brooke during our engagement shoot and were instantly impressed with her ability as a photographer, and immediately decided to hire her to shoot our wedding. And boy, are we happy we did! Brooke and Drew are an amazing photography team, who captured our day absolutely *perfectly*. Photography is not something you want to gamble on as you’re planning your wedding vendor team, as you’re trusting someone to capture every moment of a pretty hectic day. So we are soooo thankful we chose them! Not only do we have amazing photos that we are proud to post online, hang up on our walls, look at forever, etc. — but working with Brooke was a dream. She was so easy to communicate with, so organized and responsible, and most importantly — super laid-back on our wedding day. This was crucial, as it helped reduce (inevitable) bride stress, set the tone for the experience to be joyful and fun (which it should be!), and was such a calming presence. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Comfort! To take a great picture, I believe there needs to be a level of comfort between the photographer and client. Once everyone is loose and enjoying the shoot, amazing things happen.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
For my couples, I always ask how they fell in love. This is both entertaining and a a great way for me to get to know them.
For my families, I love hearing what the kiddos are like and how that impacts their day to day lives.
What do you love most about your job?
I love working with people. It’s so fun creating images that display the love that is shared and document this moment in life.
What inspired you to start your own business?
When my dad passed away a few years ago I realized how short and fragile life is. This spurred me on to pursue my passion: photography. I’m SO glad I can do what I love and I’m so thankful for the amazing people I’ve met along the way.
