Michelle Simpson Wellness

Michelle Simpson is a sushi loving, mountain seeking Registered Holistic Nutritionist committed to helping clients like YOU create healthier versions of themselves. Using complementary and supportive nutritional therapies, gene-based wellness and holistic supportive modalities, Michelle combines personal experience with professional expertise to help break diet culture, improve symptoms and improve overall health. She has over 15 years’ experience as a health professional – from Nutritionist, Vitamin Specialist, CrossFit Owner and Coach to a parent of 2 special needs children. The philosophy of holistic nutrition is to combine the complex interplay between environmental, physical, chemical, mental and emotional wellbeing in an individual. It’s not always about eating whole organic foods. Rather, the approach is to examine the whole picture (or the whole person as it were) as to address any major contributors to a wide range of health issues or to improve overall well-being. Our bodies have a tremendous ability to heal. Holistic nutrition provides an approach to be supportive and nourishing to the entire body system while addressing underlying health conditions at the root. WHY HOLISTIC NUTRITION? Each person is their own individual; it is no different when it comes to health. You can have two people with very similar symptoms but the root cause can be entirely different. The approach to heal and or manage it becomes entirely different as well. It not a one size fits all approach. Michelle takes the time to get to know YOU and your health issues, lifestyle, symptoms, what is working and what’s not. Together you create goals and practical changes and supportive measures to get to that goal and improve your health and lifestyle. The issues Michelle can work with (and the list is not inclusive – so if you’re not sure, have a 10 minute conversation with her to find out how she can help): Chronic pain management Chronic fatigue Blood sugar imbalances Detoxification/cleansing Disease prevention Digestive issues Hormonal imbalances Mood imbalances Stress and sleep issues Weight loss / Weight Gain Autoimmune Disorders and Diseases Sport Specific Diets Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities Kidney diseases and other illnesses Services can include: Individual consultations – 30 & 60 minute Gene-Based Wellness (use your genetics and unlock your optimal health!) Meal Planning & Lifestyle specific recipe books Specific Health Packages (Candida, Autoimmune, Weight loss and more!) Currently, holistic nutrition services are covered under some healthcare benefits plans as “Nutritional Counselling”. However, direct billing is not available at this time.

How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?

Optimal health and wellbeing begins with a foundation of dietary lifestyle. But what is healthy for one person may not be so for another. It comes down to individual constitution, a person's requirements and needs (vitamins, minerals etc) alongside any underlying health issues.

Ultimately, we eat everyday to live....and what we choose can either enhance our health, or it will be harmful.

What do you love most about your job?

I absolutely love witnessing clients' BIG WINS! But I also love teaching, inspiring and being a catalyst for others whom desire improved health and wellness.

What inspired you to start your own business?

When doctors were unable to help me with my own health issues I began researching, learning and applying dietary changes for improvement of symptoms. I had much success that friends and family naturally started asking for my help - whether that was to help research, advocate or provide plans or programs for their own health.

Why should our clients choose you?

When we work together we create a vision, strategy and practical step-by-step programs and plans to support your health. Consider me as a guide, teacher and supportive member of your healing journey.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

You may have the choice, depending on comfort, to visit in clinic (masks mandatory) or through virtual video or phone conferencing. You can choose one of the options when booking an appointment time.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

You can read how Newleaf Wellness (the clinic I work through) conducts business through Covid here: https://newleafwellnesscentre.com/coronavirus-action-plan

I also offer virtual services using our JaneApp program.
