Having each worked for multiple large agencies across Canberra and Queanbeyan, they then joined forces working together in the same office. Years of experience in different agencies and working together before opening Richmond Properties Canberra gave Mary and Mark valuable insight into how they would structure their own business to provide the best client experience, whilst complimenting each others strengths. In their spare time they enjoy hiking on the many trails Canberra has to offer or an easier stroll around the lake with their dogs. Both being from country towns, they really enjoy the lifestyle of city convenience with a country town feel that Canberra offers. We have more time We are a boutique property management agency with time to look after things properly. While the industry average sees each property manager managing anywhere from 100 - 200 properties each (no wonder you can't get hold of them), we are keeping things small so we have time to cross our "T"s and dot our "I"s. What do you love most about your job?

I love the variety that comes with each day. There is never a dull moment as a property manager and we are always meeting new people every day. Building trusting relationships with my clients and tenants, where they know I have their very best interests at heart is so important to me. To take the stress out of renting out someone's home or investment property is something I take a lot of pride in. I am a natural mediator and I find I can almost always find the best outcome for all parties which gives me a great sense of accomplishment.

What inspired you to start your own business?

After 11 years working as a property manager and running other large agencies, owned by sales agents, I missed the days where things were smaller. Owning a boutique agency has allowed me to go back to providing personal service where I know each landlord, tenant and all the properties on our books inside and out.

I am 100% invested in this career and take a lot of pride in the quality of my work. It is important to me to provide the absolute best service on offer. Dealing with the owner of the business means you will never change property managers (unlike large agencies with high turn over of staff) and you will always have one point of contact who is highly experienced in all facets of the industry.
