Very disappointing experience. My girlfriend and I hired Zip Moving when we moved in together back in November. We signed up for the full packing service and figured the relatively high price would be worth it for a smooth moving experience. Yeah that was a mistake.To start they missed (or maybe just skipped) packing entire areas of my girlfriend's apartment. And keep in mind this was not a huge place, it was just a 2BR/2BA apartment. She had to be out a few days later, and so we had to scramble afterwards (making several trips back to her apartment) to finish packing up and moving the rest of her belongings out. Not exactly what we paid forOne of the movers (there were four in the crew) in particular was very rough with our belongings and seemed to care very little for them. At one point we saw him literally just rip the cable box out of the wall, and it was damaged enough that it needed to be replaced. We also saw him just throwing several boxes around when "stacking" them near the elevatorNot surprisingly, after the move we discovered lots of damages, including a cracked tablet, broken floor lamp, deep scratches on my hardwood floor, broken back to our couch, sections of chipped paint on our dresser, several broken figurines, and the list goes onWe reached out to Zip regarding these issues, and while the first response that we got was very nice and professional, once we got into the details of the issues we experienced, we received what basically seemed to be a form response telling us to file a claim with a third party company. And then when I responded saying that certain parts of our complaint hadn't even been addressed in their response and how unhappy we were about the whole experience, they didn't respond at allLook, I know when it comes to moves, stuff happens. Things occasionally break. But the lack of care that Zip Moving seemed to take in performing our move (a move that we paid them a lot of money for), and the relative indifference in their response leaves us as very unhappy customers. This is a company that I would never recommend to a friend, and I hope that our experiences at least help prevent others from experiencing such a debacle too More...

5 star team! Had to move a 2 room apartment to a new house with 3 floors in the next county over. These guys are fast! They called 30 minutes before they arrived, and were very prompt and professional. Three gentlemen did a walkthrough of the apartment to understand the best route for moving my belongings. Most of my items were packed and ready, but they had to re-pack a few items to ensure their safety. Notably, they moved a couch, two beds, and carefully handled my tv and the credenza. All this, within a matter of two hours. From there, we walked through the apartment to ensure they got everything, and we even got a surprise visit from the manager to make sure we were being taken care of. When we got to the new house, they delivered all of our items in their rightful places, and asking us where each item goes. By the time I finished lunch, my furniture was in place. Did a final walkthrough, paid a very reasonable amount for their work. Decided to write this a couple weeks after the moving day, and happy to say all of our items are intact and undamaged. Our team of movers were phenomenal! We moved from an apartment to a condo in DC - and of course, we completely under counted the number of boxes and our crew thought that might extend the time it'd take - and the cost - but have no fear, they were absolute machines and got it done in the original estimated time. Thank you!!As an FYI, they can't move bags - ie big ziploc bags or garbage bags with clothes and pillows - so, to keep it easy, we moved those by our car. I was also originally quoted a $550 flat rate from another DC moving company and I was confused since it under half the cost I was quoted from Zip Moving and several other companies. Too good to be true right? I shared that price with a sales rep at Zip Moving and he said - "wow, we can't match that price. Have you looked at their Better Business Bureau ratings?" - sure enough, they got an F and Zip Moving has an A. We used this service on a personal home move. They showed absolutely no care once paid. They caused thousands in damage. When presented with evidence of broken furniture, kitchen ware, china, they did not respond. Complete stone wall. Avoid these criminals at all cost. We have had to move long distances multiple times in the past, but our experience with Zip Moving far exceeded our expectations. The crew was very cordial and very hard working! We also experienced a few snafus due to the age of the building we moved into and they found ways to work around very big issues, demonstrating that not only are they big muscles but big brains! We were so pleased with the services. We also found it easy to communicate with them in the booking process (they actually take their calls whereas others I tried to call insisted I use email and still managed to mess up our inventory list so we dropped them). I had a bad moving experience with this company but I've never seen a company work harder to rectify the mistakes which occurred. It was strange as the move began well but midway the crew simply went off plan, leaving me in a lurch. My representative Nathan, after I have been in my home a week (swimming in boxes of dumped drawer items and unassembled furniture due to the movers change of practice with no hope because I'm disabled and unemployed) continued communicating with me finally offering to refund the cost of the move. 1. Move took 12 hours instead of original quoted 7 hours and revised 10 hours. Movers did not move expediently 2. brought 4 large items that were labeled do not move. Had to pay to have hauled away 3. Left 2 critical items electric wheelchair and file cabinet that were to be moved. 75 year old mother had to arrange to fix. 4. left refrigerator because water was attached. But then took off handles and threw away hardware. Had to pay $200 to have moved and trying to order new hardware. 5. Packed a tall box with fishing gear. Then shoved 5 additional boxed items in with them. Pictures sent. 6. Put several upstairs boxes which were labeled in basement and many basement boxes upstairs. Impossible for elderly to move. 7. Took apart lift chair.reassembled as promised but it works sporadically. Move cost over $3000 plus numerous costs to correct their issues. In answer to these issues, Zip offered $140 'in good faith'. Edit: Zip responded 'we reached out to your parents immediately after the move' which is COMPLETELY UNTRUE. My 75 year old mother waited a week and then called to provide the above list of complaints. she then waited 3 more days for the promised response and then had to call them back. The representative emailed her that ALL REVIEWS MUST BE RETRACTED or they would retract their 'full and final agreement' of $140. Which doesnt even pay for the haul away, the hardware the movers threw away, literally anything above. I thought the movers would re-assemble items they took apart but I have a fireplace with bookshelves missing shelves and the firebox. I have two televisions with no cords or interface boxes. I have at least 15-20 boxes that are unlabeled and thus I can't find anything.Things were boxed that could've simply been covered and taped. Drawers emptied when I asked the cabinets be wrapped and moved. I knew there was no need to empty things in cabinets that were not breakables.The result is all of these boxes, disorganization, more time to be spent trying to place things back in cabinets.These practices resulted in items in the list not being packed. Specifically all of my outdoor furniture which was included on the list.My friends said I should share this. I worked with ZIP Moving for my townhouse move to townhouse in September 22. Absolutely recommend these people as they are professional, careful and friendly . Their price might not seem to be the cheapest at first glance as I asked for a couple of bids ( one of the expensive) . They were extremely professional on consultation and knew what they were doing among all other competitors. That's why I worked with them and saw the profession and expertise during the move. I needed to book a moving company and heard back from Zip almost immediately after I reached out to receive an estimate. They contacted me a few days before my move to confirm what items I had and clearly communicated their arrival time when moving day came. The movers, Francys and Juan, arrived exactly at the time they estimated and proceeded to pack and move everything quickly but with care. My two notes of disappointment are based on pricing. 1. To save space, I put all of my clothing in vacuum-sealed bags. However, I was told that the bags had to go into boxes that I didn't have, which meant I had to use Zip's boxes - an additional fee. Had I known that would be the case, I would have packed differently or gotten boxes myself. 2. The estimate I received before booking Zip was similar to that of most moving companies, but I still believe that cost is too high. In general, moving companies could lower their prices and still offer a quality experience given that what they provide will always be needed. We used this company for a cross country move. They talk a good game about customer service, storage, accountability. It is in my opinion a giant scam. Do not use them. We had oriental rugs disappear from our shipment. Most of our China was smashed. Family heirlooms destroyed. They offered us nothing. I am in the process of putting a lawsuit together. Sleazy company-- stole two gorgeous antique Afghan rugs, smashed 10 boxes of antique family heirlooms, wooden devoys, Sticklet chairs- insane. like drunken kids try and break as much as possible.. $25k move and after months of fighting they won't pay more than $1500 to cover stolen items/damage. Zip Moving was very professional in preparing/planning for our move. All of our items were handled with a lot of care and wrapped well to keep them safe. When the original delivery people brought our couch to our apartment, they had a very hard time moving it in and couldn’t get it to fit in the elevator. But the Zip Moving team was able to easily and safely get it out of our apartment and into the elevator, so they are clearly better skilled than other movers who had attempted to move the same couch. They were also able to get a desk with a non-detachable hutch easily up our small and twisted staircase in our new home without leaving a scratch, which we didn’t even think was going to be possible. I appreciated that they called us before the move to ensure we were on the same page, during the move to make sure things were going smoothly, and after the move to make sure everything went well. To me, that shows they want to do a good job and fix any problems that arise. I hired this company to do a move in June 2022. They sent very efficient and friendly workers who are focused on getting the job done and the time allotted. HORRIBLE! UNPROFFESSIONAL! The movers not only damaged my belongings, but punctured holes in the walls while moving me. DO NOT chose this company. They are the most lackadaisical, negligent, and incompetent set of movers that I have ever experienced. Most importantly, the team lead completely broke my headboard, which could of have been easily prevented. However, the team lead remained on his phone the entire move, as he was puncturing holes in the walls. The movers did not properly disassemble my headboard, while rushing to move me. Without a doubt, my worst experience with movers (and this was my 10th move). I liked that they had positive ratings and their online website seemed really good. I entered all my information and all my inventory for the move. They called me and we discussed the move details. I told them that I would box everything and they sent me some free boxes (not enough and mostly small but it was a help). I had asked for partial packing since I assumed that I had to pay for the breakdown of the beds and things like the artwork. I was told that it was included and they would bring plenty of blankets.<br><br>I also informed them that there was a time sensitivity because the elevator at the new place was only until 4 and that I would have to pay extra to the building if it ran past 4pm. They promised to leave their location at 7 and should arrive at 8 at the latest.<br><br>On move day, they arrived late (past 9am), and then said that everything that was in bags had to be in boxes, because they don't move bags (well that was never communicated or stated on their website), so then they delayed further putting all the bagged items into boxes. Finally the move happened and they seemed generally efficient.<br><br>However, they managed to damage a wall in the new place, one of the dressers, the bed and the dining room table (a small chip in the glass top). Could have been worse. <br><br>Oh, but wait... they did not finish until 6pm costing me $200 at the new place.<br><br>Oh wait again, the bill was $800 more than agreed because of the boxing.<br><br>So $1000 more than agreed and damages to a wall and furniture. I spent the last three months arguing with them until they agreed to refund me $300. <br><br>So a $700 dollar lesson that this company is a scam. They get you with a nice website and what seems like a reasonable price, but get you later with charges on move day. As a parting gift just to rub salt into the wound, they damage your property.<br><br>Buyer beware with this company. Zip Moving and Storage was very responsive from the first exchange. They have a website where you have a personal page, and you can list your inventory. Also, they are able to do a virtual tour of your house/apt to help you with your inventory list. It is important to be careful with the estimate, because it is based on weight, and most likely the price will be higher than what is stated. <br><br>Overall the pickup went smoothly. They were able to get everything out in a timely matter, and packed our furniture, t.v., and artwork. These are extra charges and not part of the estimate.<br><br>The delivery date was changed which created a little bit of a problem, but Zip Moving and Storage was very responsive with my issues, and we were able to resolve them, and come to an agreed solution.<br><br>Moving is stressful, and there are always bumps in the road. PROS: Arrived to and from locations on time despite bad weather. Pricing was better than other companies as they put multiple deliveries on one truck. CONS: There are some hidden fees with wrapping and boxing furniture that I thought would be included in the price. Upon delivery, one of the movers asked if I had a boyfriend/husband, and complimented me on my appearance multiple times. They talked about me in Spanish, not knowing that I am fluent and knew exactly what they were saying. I hired Zip Moving on short notice for my brother's move and the experience was seamless and professional. I was able to pay and modify inventory online which was extremely convenient. No stress moving! The guys at Zip helped to move me from Maryland to Atlanta. I was worried that my items wouldn't arrive til after I made it to Atlanta, but they arrived quicker than I did and I wasn't without my belongings for long. The guys really helped explain the insurance and paperwork. They helped me to pack the bigger, fragile items like my computer screens and TVs. Some of the extra packing cost more money, but it was really worth it so nothing was damaged. We had no dents or marks on our furniture and the guys even made sure to check items for me to let me know that we were all set. I really appreciate their attention to detail when packing and unpacking. They told me step by step how things were going to go and asked me for assistance with where to place items, if I needed help to reassemble certain furniture places and made sure all questions were answered.
