Martha helped me with a birth trauma release session. I reached out to her after not being to achieve a VBAC. I was feeling disappointed with myself. .. feeling like my body failed me. The session changed my outlook on the birth. I can talk, remember, relive it without being flooded by tears. It has made a huge impact for me and my ability to cope and accept what happened. Having a recording of the session available helps me go back to listen and have been useful to help me relax and nap while the baby sleeps. I can't thank her enough! More...

Martha joined my family from the start of my pregnancy. She was the exact calm I needed. Every time I had any doubts she was there to soothe even the worst of fears. My husband is supportive, but Martha's support is like no other. She was always a text or call away and I left every encounter with her feeling stronger in my decisions for labour. I can't imagine doing pregnancy without her! When it came time for me to deliver Luna, she went ABOVE AND BEYOND. I knew she would be there for me but I had no idea at what depths she would go. My labour was LONG and intense and she never left my side (ok well I sent her away at some ungodly hour to get some food, but I had to force her to leave). I had many fears during labour and she talked me through them and put my anxiety to rest. When my husband slept next to my hospital bed she fed me ice chips and held my hand. Without Martha I would be a different Mom. Without Martha there would have been few smiles. And without Martha I wouldn't have loved my journey. More...

I highly recommend Martha as a doula and photographer. She is an incredibly supportive, kind and comforting person and she was always there when I needed her. When I went into labor she guided me from home and then stayed throughout my labor and then always answered any questions afterwards. I loved that she helped me create the labor I imagined while still guiding me and staying supportive. I feel she went above and beyond and I'll always be grateful to her for that. More...

We had an incredible experience working with Martha. My husband and I had moved to South Florida when I was 35 weeks pregnant, so it was very hectic. Thank goodness I found Martha. Even though it was very last minute, she dove in head first and worked incredibly hard to get us all of the resources we needed. She went above and beyond when it came to checking in with me and making sure I was ok and that I had what I needed. I really liked her approach, as well. She listened to our needs and preferences and she made a lot of great suggestions. I never felt like she was trying to “tell us what to do” because “she knew best” (my experience with other practitioners in this field). It was all about us, and our plan, and she was there to support and offer guidance. We had an out of hospital, natural birth, and throughout the birth I always felt confident with Martha by my side. She was so patient and calm and gave me a sense of peace that I could let go and follow her guidance throughout the birth. Any expecting parents would be lucky to have her as their doula! More...

Martha was a wonderful light to have during the pregnancy process as well as through labor and delivery. We knew that we wanted to work with her during our first meeting. She was positive, on board with what my husband and I both wanted during this journey, and she also worked with our midwife before which was a huge plus. She gave Spinning Baby exercises and a list of other things to do leading up to labor to help bring our baby down and potentially make labor a shorter process. During labor she caught a slip on the nurses side that really could have led the birth in a different direction so we were extremely thankful for her during this time. More...

This is pretty late considering my daughter is 3 months old, but I wanted to share my experience with Facebook. My skeptical husband was thinking I was crazy for hiring a stranger for the most personal and miraculous time in our lives, but that was short lived once he met Martha. She exudes peace and tranquility from the start. Let's face it, all mamas are in desperate need of inner peace and strength during labor. After meeting almost 10 different doulas we decided that Martha was a perfect fit. The night of my labor came by surprise because my water broke 10 days before my due date (first baby). I was calm until I arrived st the hospital where my contractions started and quickly placed 3 minutes apart. My husband who thought he would know exactly what to do when the time came, shut down completely and looked like a lost pup. That's when Martha came and both my husband and I calmed down. Incense and music along with ways to speed up the process. From water breaking to the birth of my daughter was 10.5 hours. If you're having your first child or 4th,I would highly recommend Zen Mama Love More...

I first met Martha at Natural Birth Works while she was assisting my midwife at my monthly checkup. However, we really didn't get a chance to speak to one another. It wasn't until "Meet the Doula night" at the birthing center that we got a chance to talk. She spoke about her passion for helping mama's throughout their pregnancy, labor, postpartum recovery, and beyond. My husband and I decided to hire her as my doula because of that passion and her calm, peaceful demeanor. Unfortunately, we hired her late in my pregnancy and didn't get a chance to build an early connection. However, that didn't hinder our relationship or her role as my doula during my son's birth. We had created a birthing plan, but when the day came for me to actually give birth I wanted the complete opposite of what we discussed. Martha followed my lead and allowed me to do what I needed to do to be and feel comfortable. She was peaceful, graceful and supportive. I will forever be thankful to her for also giving my husband the support he needed to be there for me, and for her patience throughout the whole process. We have since grown closer, and become friends. Whatever we missed during the early stages of my pregnancy we have since gained during my postpartum recovery and path to being a new mom. I am able to speak with her about my highs and lows as a mom, and a woman and know that there will be no judgment on her end. I am thankful she was my doula, and has become my friend. More...

I really don't even know how to express my admiration of and appreciation for Martha! We first met for coffee on a professional basis and I just knew she had really found her calling. I was hoping to find someone great to refer my expectant chiropractic patients to in the case that they needed someone to support them through their labor and delivery. After thinking I would have my second birth without a doula, I ended up referring myself because I felt a connection with her! There is great responsibility in being a doula, and making yourself an advocate for a mom in her most vulnerable time. Trust, reliability and honesty are qualities that are not always easy to find in someone in the doula industry, regardless of what they may tell you or how they may portray themselves. Martha has all of these and more! I am so grateful I made the decision to have Martha at my second birth, which was my first home birth. She provided the care, support, and words that I needed to get me through my labor and contractions peacefully and calmly, in addition to her constant contact in the weeks leading up to my son's delivery.
