I could not recommend Shay more! She is a supportive guide in any food & health journey and puts the thought and care to learn who you are as a person and how best to support YOU. She helped me address my health concerns, including high blood pressure, and has given me the tools to make informed decisions about my food and exercise. Ha is everything that you want in a dietitian. She has the education, experience, latest technology and resources to help you meet your weight loss goals. Ha wants to know you, the client, and your weight loss plan is customized. Ha is also a very nice person and you will look forward to meeting with her and her office near the Liberty Bell is very convenient.I knew that I had to exercise and to eat the right foods to lose weight. I came to Shay over 200 pounds at 5"3. About 3 months later, I have lost 22 pounds through her guidance and support. She has helped me to address every single negative and self-defeating thought about becoming healthy and weight loss. Shay has been sooo awesome to work with! She is patient, consistent, and is willing to listen to my every concern. I have never felt judged and she holds me accountable by creating a bi-weekly chart to help me track me goals. Ha has been tremendous help for me. She has helped me eat a more healthy diet and transition to being a vegetarian. Before coming to see her I was eating processed foods and an unbalanced diet and I felt worse as a vegetarian. I can't thank her enough for the education she provides and her level of professionalism. It's such a pleasure and privilege to come see her. I wish more people knew their insurance likely offers them free certified nutritionist visitations (I know Blue cross and Aetna plans do). There was virtually no paperwork I needed to do, just gave her my insurance card. She has also been seeing my team of doctors and assistants. They are as thankful and excited to take advantage of the nutritionist visits as I am and this has allowed our team to be more healthy. We have decreased sick days dramatically and I haven't even been sick in the last year, at all. I feel stronger and more healthy now than I did in my 20's. I thank Ha and her help for that! In January 2019 I enrolled in Yummy Body Nutrition. I was fully aware that I needed to lose weight but had no idea where or how to get started. I had tried every fab diet out there two or three times. This time I wanted to commit to a "life change" that would last much longer than when the quick box foods were gone. Still unsure how successful I would be I begun this journey with S. Tinari. She came to my office to meet with two others and me. Shay showed me various foods that were high in taste and low in calories. Because, of Shays commitment and holding me accountable (in a really good way) I am down close to twenty-five (25) pounds. It is by far the best hour of my life that is spend on my life. I feel better and lighter. I have also been able to lower my intake of medications. I have come to realize that a life change is a journey and I am very thankful that Shay is there to assist me in this new life style. Further, I am able to continue to eat and excise when Shay is not there. I really wish this was offered years ago but am really happy I can benefit from this program NOW. Last summer, after reaching over 230lbs, and being at my heaviest weight ever, I decided enough was enough and that I needed to make a change and get in shape. At 6’ tall, and 52 yrs old, I was told by everyone that I “carried my weight well”, but I knew I was very overweight and felt miserable. I started going to the gym daily, stopped eating fast food and unhealthy snacks, and cut out drinking anything other than water and coffee. The pounds started coming off, and I was seeing results, but I wasn’t really maximizing my lifestyle change. Shortly after I started on my weight loss journey, Ha was recommended to me by my acupuncturist, and covered by my insurance, so I decided to seek out her expertise. I’m very glad I did. Ha taught me how to incorporate a healthier variety of foods into my diet, reduce and eliminate high calorie foods that I thought were healthy, manage my portion sizes to reduce calories, and choose healthy snacks with protein to keep me satisfied between meals. Additionally, I was always hungry at night after my workout. Ha suggested to reduce my cardio workout, which was an hour, and by doing so I found myself less hungry while still managing to lose weight at the same pace. After just 8 months, I slowly and steadily reduced my weight and improved my health and now weigh in at a comfortable 187lbs. I have been working with Ha Nguyen, RD, LDN of Yummy Body Nutrition since September 2018 and it has been life changing for me. When I first came to her, my weight had been bouncing around between 220 and 230 for years and I was teetering on pre-diabetes. Like many busy, middle-aged professionals, I was leading an inactive lifestyle and paying little to no attention to what I was eating. Since I began working with Ha, I have learned how to develop and maintain a healthy relationship with food. She is incredibly knowledgeable, very clear and straightforward in her explanations, and very accessible in between sessions. Her non-judgmental, practical, sensible approach to health is very motivating, so I look forward to my sessions and have seen dramatic results. I really like that she uses the InBody Test to track my body fat, muscle mass, body composition, and other vital, meaningful metrics, rather than relying on less useful numbers like weight or BMI. And yes, it makes a HUGE difference that she is a RD/LDN. There is no question that I benefit directly from her extensive training and education and that she is more dedicated and invested in my success than someone who did not attain those credentials. The rapid improvements I experienced working with Ha motivated me to begin adding exercise into my routine. This combination has been transformative to my physical and mental health and is mutually-reinforcing. The more I stick to my exercise routine, the more motivated I am to eat right; the more I eat right, the more energy and enthusiasm I have for exercise. Today I am healthier than I have ever been, including when I was a teenager, and within striking distance to my ambitious goals for percent body fat, skeletal muscle mass, body fat mass, basal metabolism, and weight. Working with Ha has been one of the best decisions of my life. She guides me to eat better, but also understands and supports that there are some things (especially when going on vacation) that I am not willing to give up, and helps me make the right choices with that in mind. I have been going to Ha for about 1.5 years and have lost 26 pounds, and maintained my healthy weight, with her guidance. She is so easy and pleasant to work with, and I can't recommend her enough. I was looking to lose some weight, for some reason I reached a point that exercising 90 minutes a day didn’t help me to lose even 1 mg, not even my “own diets” that kept my weight under control were working any longer. I basically google a nutritionist/dietitians in my area and I found Dr. Ha Nguyen. It was the best option I could ever has done. She didn’t give me a “diet”, she basically taught me to eat healthie, abundantly, rich flavors meals and the best part was that I didn’t feel the craziness of “been on a diet”, neither felt hungry or the typical light headache or assaulted the refrigerator when I came back from work. I lost 14 pounds in about 12 weeks and I’m still loosing few more. If you are serious about changing your food lifestyle and lose weight, I widely recommend you to give her a call immediately. Ha gave me a lot of great suggestions to my diet.. After adding a lot of her philosophy to my diet, I have felt a lot better physically. Ha is the absolute best! I'm not the easiest client to work with since I'm TERRIBLE at logging what I eat, but just sitting with Ha, and talking about how to make better choices in my daily eating habits has been super beneficial for me! I have only seen her about 4 times and I am steadily loosing weight. Down 4 points on my BMI, lost around 20lbs since seeing Ha! Shes an absolute angel sent from the heavens, and she will help you understand how to break down your plate to make the most out of your meals. I am willing to share my personal nutritionist with the world. I want to keep her to myself, but I want everyone to be well and in good health. She is only the best nutritionist ever.
