Everything about the just opened YK salon in New Providence whispers “ highly trained professional colorists and hairstylists work here . “ the overall design of the space is modern but very inviting and maybe even cozy . Today was my first visit there and my hair needed to be revived for sure ! Creative color director Wendy Bond knew exactly the correct approach to do just that . Yoni Kreger Salon in New Providence, NJ is a beautiful salon in a great location. They have taken all the safety precautions due to COVID-19, such as dividers in between stations, cleaning and sanitizing everything after each client, hand sanitizer at every station and more. Fabulous color and cut once again! Maggie is amazing!! Maggie does a consistently excellent job with my hair. Not only is she skilled in what she does, but she listens carefully to what I want and blends that with what will work for my hair. Horrible experience First time there about 2 weeks ago. I had long hair that I spent years growing I asked the lady (Natasha I think) to thin it out and maybe a light bang away from my face. I had a haircut with Maggie. She was nice to talk to and gave me a nice medium length haircut with layers. She tried to help educate me on how to curl my hair with a flat iron but the style didn't really work for me. Overall a good haircut, though.

Stopped in for a haircut yesterday. I just moved to the area so I need a new stylist. Pros: Friendly people, nice looking shop, products used on hair seem nice, really like some aspects of the haircut (like my bangs). Cons: I gave the stylist the same three criteria I always have - it has to be simple to style, I want something that sweeps across my forehead in some fashion, it doesn't have to be long enough to fit into a pony tail but I don't want it short. She suggested a bob, which is usually what I get so that was fine. However, she started cutting in the back so I couldn't see just how short it was until it was too late to stop her. She actually had to use an electric trimmer on the back of my neck because it's so short. I mentioned not being comfortable with the length, but of course there isn't anything they can do about that. Normally I wouldn't worry about it and go somewhere else next time after this grows out, but I'm getting married in May so I'll be stuck with short hair or having a weird half grown out haircut.UPDATE: The day after posting this review the owner of the salon called me and asked me to come back in. He was very apologetic over the phone and offered to do my hair the day of my wedding. While I declined his offer to return I did appreciate the effort. If it had been as simple as a change in style I have no doubt we could have rectified the situation. I have since changed the rating from 2 to 3 stars. More...
