Decent food, but nothing spectacular. For example, the beef noodle soup tastes good, but it lacks authentic flavor that I would expect from a Taiwanese beef noodle soup. It's a fine enough place to eat but just don't go in expecting anything authentic. More...

[Summer 2021] My family and I dined in this place since we were craving some hot noodles during the rainy month. I like that they installed some type of transparent, plastic separation between the tables so everyone felt safe while eating. The food came out very fast, hot, and fresh. I got the Xian noodles and it was so yummy. The noodles were chewy and filling. The meat sauce was well seasoned and doesn't taste salty (a lot of Chinese places tend to over-season the sauce). The veggie definitely helped balance the dish too. My parents got the beef hand-pulled noodles. The beef was very tender. They also gave us a lot of meat, which we did appreciate. We will for sure return! More...

I was visiting Texas and I felt I had to try this place as I love hand-cut fresh Chinese noodles. But once I got there, they told it's not hand-cut, it's hand-pulled. ..ok sure that works. Luckily I arrived during happy hour so I got to try some of their appetizers. The shrimp dish was huge for an appetizer and definitely worth it. The white fish appetizer (I don't remember the exact name) was delicious, but obviously had only 4 bites. The beef noodle soup was absolutely delicious. The fish noodles were great, but the soup base really made the dish. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Chinese cuisine. More...

I got the Dan Dan noodles made vegan by substituting tofu and getting their gluten free noodles (their regular hand pulled noodles contain eggs in them! !!) it was pretty good, but very oily and spicy, probably not the healthiest thing ever hahah. We also got the vegetable roll which was just ehh, not too bad, but not anything amazingly delicious. Overall, not the bestttt place for vegans, but they do have vegan options at least! More...

The staff was great! The sushi, not so much. We ordered the basics: a salmon roll, a spicy tuna roll, and a rainbow roll. The spicy tuna tasted like crunchy sawdust and the salmon wasn't much better . We might come back and try the noodles, but the sushi leaves a lot to be desired. More...

Best miso soup, full of flavor and doesn't taste watered down like some places. Ordered the treasure island from the appetizer menu and would simply return for this dish alone, so spicy and full of flavor. We also ordered rolls; the crazy trio, angry crab, and crazy roll all were good but nothing to write home about. Definitely will return and hopefully try some of their special noodle dishes. More...

The only store that wasn't close when snowvid hit! Hopefully everyone got back safe, but I was so thankful because I had no food for that night! We got sushi and some noodles, potstickers and sesame ball.My partner and my friend got the noodles and they really enjoyed it. They packed it separately so the noodles won't get soggy from to-go. The sushi was decent, but the portion was small for the price I paid - would recommend getting it during happy hours in future instead of paying regular price for it. Potstickers were also a sad portion, and it seems like it wasn't made in house, but sesame balls were delicious. Not a bad place to get take out, but would come back only at happy hour! More...

I didnt have a good experience here. I went there on a weekend and i couldnt tell if they were open. The sign said open so i walked in. The guy behind the sushi bar was wearing a backward baseball cap with a bald head and was very rude saying they dont open until 5 pm. Im not sure why on a weekend a restaurant like this doesnt open till 5 but then he waved over the waitress to tell me again. She was really nice and even took my order. I gave her a big tip and she was the only reason this deserved a 3 star was the nice waitress. She let me order and i waited in the car until they opened. It took like 30 minutes for the food to be ready after they opened and the food was not good. The sushi was bland and i even asked for and ordered a spicy sushi roll with the wasabi mayo. The guy that was rude to me even told the other guy preparing the sushi roll not to put jalapenos on it purposefully messing up my order. The fish was not fresh and the ramen had pieces of sharp hard crunchy things that almost broke my teeth and thankfully i didnt accidentally swallow one. This was the first time i had odered there because it was very busy before covid when i walked in. The sushi bar guy should be fired and they need to be careful not to leave dangerous seasoning pieces in the ramen. Plus, the ramen was generally unappetizing. More...

Big miss this time.  After having Dan Dan noodles and loving them on a trip to Chengdu, I looked for somewhere to get them in Austin.  Xian Noodle is one of the few takeout places that have them on the menu.  I've ordered them twice before, and while not the real thing, they are close enough for quick takeout in Texas and were pretty good the previous two times. The noodles were hard (like dry hard, not al dente).  The sauce was weird tasting, it's normally a mix of chili oil, black vinegar, soy sauce, and sesame/peanut flavors, but this time it tasted weirdly like sweet and sour sauce.  Those things could be fixed, the sauce doctored up, but the worst part was the meat tasted and smelled funky like it was old.I made an attempt to salvage it but after three bites it ended up in the trash. Stir fried noodles were excellent with a great ratio of meat too veggies.Sushi was wonderful, especially for San Marcos. I had the rainbow roll first to try a little bit of everything and was pleased with the portion and quality of fish. I gotta give this place 5 stars for business practice. I placed an order yesterday, and unfortunately, the person that took my order got it wrong. I was sadly disappointed (you know when you're really in the mood for something in particular). Instead of making me go back to replace my order- they refunded me. I really appreciated that, because unfortunately what was sent was not things that I eat. I will absolutely try them again and verify my order next time. Usually the combination of anything-that-is-not-Japanese-food "and sushi" is a sign that neither half of the restaurant's name is going to be good, but Xian Sushi and Noodle is apparently a backwards wonderland where such rules do not apply. Not only do they do a pretty damn tasty albacore/tuna/salmon/avocado roll, but their dan dan noodles are impressive as well. Noodle purists will probably call their noodles not chewy enough, but they have about 8 different 'shapes' of noodle that you can choose from, so maybe a thicker one would have achieved 'the chew'. Personally, I liked the texture. It was chewy enough to be hearty but not to exhaust you. Perhaps unsurprisingly for Texas, the best part of the bowl was the beef - melt-in-your-mouth tender and plenty of it! I ended up pouring the entire accompanying sauce tray into my bowl in an attempt to reach the levels of numbing/hot that I desired, and to balance out the slightly overdone vinegar. It never quite made it. More...

I got two alaska rolls and one red dragon roll and it was about 27$.I had two alaska pieces with no salmon inside and the pieces were maybe the size of a nickel each. The red dragon roll was a lot better but also more expensive. The red dragon roll tasted very good but I won't be coming here again for sushi because 27$ should not be leaving me still hungry. We ordered several vegetable dumplings, a pork dumpling, a lobster dumpling and edamame via Uber Eats. For 4 people the total was $80. Before we even opened the small bag that arrived, we knew we would be disappointed in the amount of food. Portions are tiny. We were even more appalled when we actually opened the containers. The vegetable dumplings were so gooey and gel-like I could barely stand to try them. Take a look at this photo. Would you want eat this? How about an $80 bill for this? We did try them. Because $80. It tasted like a big ball of goo. The texture was so off putting we couldn't eat it and there was barely enough filling to merit a bite. It was a big clob of thick noodle dough. The pork dumplings were a similar disappointment. We thought to ourselves... at least we ordered edamame, you can't mess up edamame right? Wrong. The edamame was soggy, overdone and lacking salt. Even as a last resort they weren't edible. I will say... the lobster dumplings were excellent but tiny. There were 4 in an order and they were bite sized. At $8 (for 4 dumplings) the bite cost us each $2. If you are rich enough to order several orders of lobster dumplings, it could be an enjoyable place to eat. In our case, each of us had one bite of edible food for an $80 order. I don't normally leave terrible reviews like this but I do feel the need to warn others. In summary... Overpriced, small portions, gooey, soggy, doughy, unappetizing. More...
