today was my first visit due to migraines. Dan helped me understand why i was getting them everyday for weeks, more than what doctors were telling me.

Last Year I had a herniated disc as a result from a lifting incident at the gym. I couldn't walk anymore than 3 steps without having to lie down and even lying down was painful. I had gone to primary care which couldn't help, urgent care was no help. I saw a chiropractor who gave me the wrong diagnosis. I also saw a physical therapist previously but they weren't helping much. I went to the emergency room, and couldn't even sit in the chair in the waiting room so I was lying on their floors before being called. Even when I saw the ER doctor, they just gave me a cortisone shot which relieved very little of the pain I was experiencing. I thought I was going to have to take that semester off of PT school and have these impairments/limitations the rest of my life so I was pretty distraught at this point. I saw Dr. Dan Keller for physical therapy and he was very understanding about the pain I was going through and knowledgeable about the topic. He also happened to be my professor at the time so God's timing was perfect. After two visits all my pain was gone and I could do everything that I was able to do before the pain came on. I have seen him for other things as well such for fine tuning movements for lifting and form correction and rehab from lifting too much. He is definitely a mentor for me in the PT world and one of the best PT's in the Western NY/ Buffalo Area. Highly recommend him at WNY Fitness and Rehabilitation Institute for any concerns you guys may have whether its getting started with fitness programs or dealing with any lingering injuries you may be dealing with!
