Before finishing up my review I returned again implying this restaurant is quite good, and it is. For my first time I accidentally entered through the rear however I walked through the restored 1949 dining car to get to the front. There was a spread of choices to choose from behind glass and selected Quarter Roast Chicken with Rotisserie Potatoes and Porchetta Pot Pie.I had the selection of sitting inside (few tables) and on the outdoor patio, so sat towards the rear where I entered. But first had to pay at the bar after I ordered my food. It's not a large bar but they do serve wine and beer. I sat down and was handed a book about old trains and this Streamlined Sunset Limited dining car was in it. The car had been fully restored back to its glory. Soon my order was in front of me and looked delicious. All the food here is farm to table and was told the chicken I was eating had a good life free roaming on a farm. It tasted so good. The potatoes and pot pie were just as tasty. Days later I had dreams about this chicken and returned to have it again. It is a precious gem off of US 290 but be careful leaving were traffic can be a bit dangerous. Looks like they do DoorDash so can avoid having to drive here, but will miss the ambiance of going back in time. This is not the only train car here where this whole parcel is littered with old train cars and fun for the kids to see.So in summary the food is excellent and it definitely worth checking out to enjoy fresh healthy food like people used to eat 70 years ago. Amazing food. The honeyed carrots and pesto corn were delicious. The pork ribs were really tasty. The rosemary shirt bread was amazing. That this restaurant is set in an original railroad dining car that is still setup the same as as it was in the 1950's adds to the experience and charm! More...

We just had such an enjoyable experience trying Winner Winner for the first time! It’s a 70 yr/old dining car that has been fully restored. Eat inside in the authentic booths or on the deck. We had read about it in AustinEater which spotlighted it as 1 of 2 restaurants to eat at this wknd, and ended up spending 2+ hrs chatting with the owners, kids running around, and devouring delicious food. We will absolutely be back. #supportlocal More...

Every time I come here it's a treat. I try to vary my choices, which can be hard for a person who likes to stick with her favorites, and I've never been disappointed. No matter what I choose, even if it doesn't become a favorite for me, it's still so very, very interesting to the palate. Love this place and wish I could eat there every week! Eat in and enjoy the vibe, eat outside on Saturday nights and enjoy live music, or take your fantastic meal home. No matter what, you're in for a treat! More...

Really good! I'm upset with myself for not trying this place sooner, it's been open for one year and they gave out a free dessert for the anniversary. We had the butterscotch pot de creme, we liked it a lot! I was at an event last week and Richard Blais (celebrity-ish/Top chef) was the guest chef. He made porchetta and honestly I thought theirs was nearly as flavorful and tender. I loved the porchetta pot pie! It was delicious. The chicken was great, a lot of flavor and fresh herbs. We enjoyed the potatoes and broccolini sides as well. Very unique atmosphere and plenty of seating outside to enjoy your meal. More...

On my first visit, I expected this to be a fried chicken place ... with lots of traditional fried things. But, I didn't see anything fried. It's really much more.Besides the fact that it is located in a Railroad Dining Car (not near any train tracks) the food is "chef prepared" with a selection of lamb, roasted chicken, and pork. Sides are awesome as well. With my white meat herb roasted chicken, I got seasoned roasted potatoes and a lentil, apple, almond medley.I chose to eat outdoors because the weather was nice, but the whir of cars zooming down Hwy 290 was a bit overwhelming. Cest le vie.The food is superb here and inexpensive. Come check it out. Not sure if the Dining Car gimmick is really necessary for this high quality meal.Hurry, come check it out! More...

I found this place has very high review, so I asked my friends to come here. The most of people order rotisserie chicken, but three of us order Porchetta. Their prochetta roasted with fennel, it tastes like Taiwanese roasted pork (fennel's flavor is very similar to Star Anise.) They put 2 small pieces of deep fried pork fat which is typical Taiwanese style too. But they did not have steam rice to go with porchetta. More...

The blend of juicy porchetta, arugula, caramalized fennel mix and bread is superb. As a side I tried the spinach salad with blue cheese, pear and dressing. Another thumbs up. Today for our lunch date we decided to try somewhere new. We'd heard about this place from an email someone sent out to a bunch of people, and they were right. It was great! I had the quarter chicken with two sides, butternut squash and potatoes. My wife had the three side plate with chicken salad (a little extra to count that as a side, but well worth it) carrots and spinach. You have to go look at their menu online because the ingredients in each dish go far beyond a single vegetable. The butternut squash had a hint of cheese and the roasted potatoes were extremely well seasoned with a bullion type flavor. The chicken salad had what appeared to be green olives and capers that gave it a nice zing. The dessert creme was outstanding! Just the right amount of sweetness to satisfy and not be overpowering. I'm simply not doing this place justice. You have to go taste everything yourself to fully appreciate it. Oh and the water was served ice cold in glass. It simply taste better than plastic and was a nice surprise given the to-go counter style. More...

Inside is limited seating, but there's plenty of space outdoors, plus clean, easily accessible bathrooms. The space of course is so unique and amazing! We will definitely be coming here again! For the last couple of weeks the To Go sign caught my eye. I stopped in to pick up a quick meal with sides for a trouble free dinner at home. The place was very elegant and historically nostalgic. I admitted this was my first time and I was feeding a family of 3. The server was very helpful explaining the options and portion size. I selected a protein (whole chicken) it along with three other sides were prepared quickly and packaged in great cardboard containers that traveled well and help to keep temp and quality of the food. We will definitely be back. Next time maybe a date night so we can try the neat wine bar. My son loved the chicken and tried a few new vegetables and grains. Winner! More...

What a cute place. The restored train car makes a charming venue. I ordered lamb with rainbow carrots and a butternut squash dish as sides. The lamb was very tender and full of flavor but not gamey the way some lamb can be. It had a nice yogurt sauce with it. The carrots were ok but not great. I liked the pistachios on them but some carrots were a little tough and stringy. The flavor was good. The squash puree was rich and buttery. Very savory. They have wine and beer and cider. Not much seating. Overall I like it a lot. More...
