I have been taking my dogs to Winding Hill for many years now and we always receive the most outstanding care. I have been taking all of my dogs here for at least 20 years. They are very goid and caring. They have always been friendly and are very caring, sensitive and understanding, especially when you have to say your final goodbyes to your "baby ". They give you all the time that you need with your pet, and even light a candle to let others know what is happening and to be sensitive. I have read some of the reviews, and they are either very high, or there are a few that give a very low rating. As with any clinic, it sometimes depends on the staff that is working on that particular day . I think that most of the veterinarians and technicians here are very knowledgeable and caring , some more than others. Once you know which veterinarian mstches your and your pet's personality , you can always request her. The office staff have always been friendly to me and my dogs. Sometimes, there is a long wait. But wouldn't you want a veterinarian who takes time with your pet, rather than one who is on a strict time schedule? HOWEVER...This past Friday , I was a little disappointed with the young, new technician who brought my dog back out from having his blood work, because she didn't even realize that his bandage had come off and he was still bleeding. She then wasn't very good with cleaning him up and putting on the bandage. However, the head technician, who has been there for years, came out to explain his upcoming operation and she is AWESOME! As for the vet experience of it all, absolutely outstanding!! My vet, vet tech, and assistant were all dreams! Knowledgeable, kind, great with animals. I really cannot rave about them and the care of my pets enough! Truly, remarkable!!If I was grading their efforts along, I'd give them a 5 star rating, heck, I'd give them 20 star rating! Hence why I could only bring my score down to a 4...What has lowered my score? The front desk staff! Appalling, atrocious, down right degrading experience. I was greeted with a "Yeah?" and promptly told to sit down. Not super welcoming, but, at the time I dismissed it. It was first thing on a Saturday after all...What pushed me over the edge? When I went to check out. Carried my pets out to the front desk and stood there - the ONLY person in line... there was one couple in the waiting room...Without even looking up at me, the front desk woman sighed, "It'll be a bit til I can pull up your chart." I asked if I should sit down, and was given another "yeah."I waited, and waited, listened to the front desk women chit chat, make a couple appointment reminder calls, talk to the other couple in the waiting room. It's now been almost 10 minutes. I'm getting annoyed, especially as my poor pets are caged and beyond ready to get out of there and go home.Another exam room door opens, and a woman comes to the front desk to check out. I awaited them to tell her to go wait, too. But, did they? Nope. She got checked out right away. I continued to sit and wait. 3 other people/couples came in. The front desk people greeted all of them. I just sat...Twenty-one (yep, 21) minutes after sitting down (you better believe I timed it), the front desk woman (again without even looking up at me) sighed, and went "I can check you out now."Was there an apology? Nope. A 'thanks for your patience'? Nope. I was beyond furious. I spoke as little to this woman as humanly possible. If the vet's office was crazy busy, I'd be far more understanding. If the person that came out after me wasn't taken first (a good amount of time first), I could handle this. If I didn't have my poor pets caged and scared for an additional 21 minutes, I'd have been calmer, but, mostly, if I was at least offered an apology or treated like a human, I wouldn't be writing this review. I will continue to use Winding Hill, as the care for my pets (which is the most important part) was absolutely outstanding! I cannot praise them enough. But I'm already dreading having to deal with the disrespectful, rude, terrible front desk women. HORRIBLE!! More...

Great vet service. They were one vet down when I came in for my last appointment, and the wait time still wasn’t long! Have brought all three of my cats here, and although the cats themselves aren’t happy to be there, the vets are all great. Winding Hills is great. They really try to make all of the animals as comfortable as they can. My dogs are both very anxious rescues and the team at Winding Hills did a fabulous job making the appointment experience more tolerable for them. Everyone was very nice. The team and vet were amazing at what they do. The prices are very fair compared to a place I went to in the past on the Carlisle Pike. My dog had an eye infection that needed to be treated asap and my regular vet couldn't get me in but thank goodness Winding Hill Vet was able to squeeze my poor pup in! My experience here was amazing every one there was nice and helpful. Vet explained to me what was going on with my dog and also showed me what I needed to do for my dog. Best part when you call you're not leaving any messages there's someone who actually picks up the calls. Wish I can say my regular vet does that but normally when I call I get the answering machine. Great veterinary hospital. The building is small but the practice is excellent. The staff is great and the doctors are awesome. They were highly recommended to me by my neighbors when we moved into our new home. We made an appointment to see the doctor and just for a general wellness checkup for our dog the prices are average to a little on the high side but the care is worth it. You can't put a price tag on the health of your furry family member. I think all veterinary places are starting to get high in price because of the new technology available and pet insurance is highly recommended. Just wish they had insurance that paid like people insurance and not reimbursement after u pay the whole tab. But that's another whole different issue. Dr. Elizabeth Dailey and the entire staff at Winding Hill, immediately put our sweet Lab and myself at ease - from the first contact with them ten days ago, until our appointment yesterday. Clean facility, friendly staff, efficient, modern - just a wonderful animal loving place! This clinic is what I have been looking for years. A Vet that will sit on the floor with my dog, show the same love and concern that I have for her, and one that speaks to humans just as well as she does to the animals. I have been taking my pets (my cat who passed away a few years ago and my current 3 dogs) here for 10+ years. They are awesome. They take the time to get to know your pets and they answer all your questions. It's easy to get appointments that fit your schedule. They have convenient hours as well, they are open until 8pm during the week, and they even have some Saturday hours. The docs, the techs, and the front office staff are all awesome; I have never had a single bad experience with any of them. I highly recommend them. More...

I enjoy coming here but much like human doctors they never start your appointment on time. Every time I bring my pet in I am guaranteed to run at least 15-30 minutes after my appointment time just to be seen—super frustrating.
