Citizen Salon has gotten a new stylist and she is the best!!!Natalie has been doing mine and my husbands hair for years. Her work is always exceptional, which is why we keep coming back! Even with my thick locks, Natalie knows how to tame it into submission. She even did my hair for my wedding. I got my hair colored for the first time earlier this year at Citizen Salon and had an amazing experience. Lauren Norris is easy to talk to, kind and very creative - I had no idea what I wanted to do to my hair and she made it look absolutely beautiful! Her salon is a cute little gem in Oceanside. Love Lauren Norris' work, energy, kindness, creativity, style and demeanor...everything about her is wonderful. I just moved to North County and I found Lauren after my friend gushed about her just as I am doing. I came for a balayage and cut. She was very responsive in securing my appointment and provided all the info in finding her salon, Citizen Salon is inside of Sola Salons in Oceanside. Can I say how aesthetically appealing the ambiance of the salon is!?!?! I didn't want to leave. She was so nice and was meticulous in her every movement exuding her experience and expertise and of course passion for what she does. It has been a struggle looking find a new stylist since moving from the East Coast. After a series of Unfortunate visits at other salons I'm happy to say I've found her! This was the second time I saw Lauren for a full highlight and cut and she did a phenomenal job! She is super easy to schedule with and cares about making sure you get the look you are going for. I contacted this salon on Yelp and I received a response immediately. My contact information was requested and within the next hour I was contacted by Ashley, she worked with my schedule and how soon I wanted to get my hair done. I was seen the next weekend and had a balayage done on my hair. Ashley was super friendly and managed to give me the exact style I described to her. She made sure I LOVED my hair before leaving.I totally loved the hair products the salon carried as well, I purchased a leave-in and hair oil by "Davine" hair line. Ashley rescued my hair and made it perfect, and she did it on super short notice, AND she accommodated my schedule! The salon is little but super cute and clean and all the products she used left me with super silky hair, a big change from the tangled mess it started at. I have been looking for my "go-to" salon and stylist/colorist ever since I moved to San Diego two years ago. Finding Karlie has been a game changer! Not only is she super talented in what she does but she is also the biggest sweetheart! It is so refreshing to feel so comfortable at a salon and hold great conversation while also getting beautiful work done. Couldn't be happier with the highlights and cut I received from Karlie. I am SUPER picky when it comes to color but I am so stoked on how natural my hair looks :) Back to my beach blonde just in time for summer! I never write reviews on salons but I am so impressed. Karlie M. Does amazing hair. If you have dark ethic hair like mine and want to go light or mix it up with color, she's your girl. But MOST importantly the blonde she did on me (Asian Blonde) is perfection. Blondes can be too warm, brassy, or just off on me, but this one was On Point. Couldn't be happier!!. It was a process so don't expect to go from black to blonde (and if a salon says they'll do it run for the hills). My hair has been colored by Karlie for over a year and it's still super healthy and strong.Karlie is truly talented and will make you look out of this world. So I did this thing the other day...after having multiple bad experiences at the last salon I went to I've been salon-shy for the last year throughout my pregnancy. Now that baby is a couple months old I needed a pick-me-up and to get rid of this massive overgrowth I had going on but was nervous to spend hundreds of dollars at a salon to walk away unhappy, so I thought I could just do a simple all-over color myself with boxed dye from Target. Bad idea...my hair basically ended up golden-yellow blonde on the bottom and neon pumpkin orange on the top haha. So the next morning I called Citizen Salon after hearing about them on facebook and being a new salon in the area I figured I'd give it a try (there aren't a lot of options in Oceanside and with a new baby at home I just don't have the time to drive really far) and I'm so glad I did.Ilsa Lamberti is so precise with color and really has an eye for it. I was so impressed with how honest she was as well. I've had my hair done multiple times where a stylist says they can absolutely achieve a certain look only for it to bomb and not get there. She laid it out on the table...what needed to be done and how it would turn out. And she did an awesome job. My hair is no longer yellow or orange, and after her cut it looks and feel SO healthy. She did a balayage (to give it some dimension) on the golden yellow part, with a toner after to take the yellow out, plus a different toner on my roots to get rid on the orange. Let me just say her balayage is beautiful...if you want blonde hair this is the girl to go to. She took my highlights to a soft silvery blonde in one step without frying my hair AT ALL (which is more than I can say for some "high end" salons that charge you an arm and a leg) She's also really easy to talk to, and very considerate of your comfort level while you're there. Lauren is absolutely amazing! She was incredibly accommodating of my hectic schedule and got me in at 7:15pm for a gloss. She used two different glosses for my roots and my ends so that I could achieve the look I was going for and it turned out amazing ! Also the products she used left my hair feeling healthy and soft and looking so shiny. Exactly what I was going for, and saved me from having to try to fit a color appointment into my hectic week before a trip out of town. Lauren is amazing! I hired Lauren to do my makeup as well as my bridesmaids makeup for my wedding in February. She did such an amazing job that 2 of my bridesmaids hired her to do their make up for their upcoming weddings as well. I had a very specific look I was trying to accomplish, I wanted the dewy natural glow look which I haven't had much luck getting with other make up artists. Lauren reviewed a few pictures I had pinned onto my Pinterest board and she absolutely nailed the look. I usually dislike wearing makeup because it feels so heavy on my face but whatever Lauren did made me feel like I had nothing but fresh skin, and I never had to worry about anything smearing or smudging, even after hours of dancing.I can't wait to go into the salon when it opens to have her spruce up my hair color as well. Who couldn't walk in the door, & just feel the warm/ love- not just that, but the passion in their eyes for truly making you feel more than just a "guest" in their chair, but like a member of their family. Clinton not only took me from a drastic life change in hair length, but has honestly made me feel so comfortable unlike anyone who has even attempted trying to go shorter than 3 inches past my shoulders. I woke up one day and wanted to regain my hair health (after dramatically altering the colour unprofessionally myself for YEARS!) it was more than dead, and breaking off like a kit kar bar. I was scared, but he listened to me and achieved a look I love, to the point I told him, I'm ready for another change!! I can't wait for my next look! So excited! Oh my gosh I love Lauren. She does such an amazing job. I usually am so indecisive when it comes to what I want to do, and in showing her a few pictures she helps me choose which color would fit me best. And the end result is even better than the photo I showed her! She actually listens to what you want, and also makes helpful recommendations. You can definitely tell she knows what she's doing. I am usually very picky about my makeup. More times often then not I end up washing my face off and doing it myself when I have to get my makeup done for weddings or dances. I recently got married and a friend of mine referred lauren. I was very nervous so I had her so my engagement photo makeup first. She did such an amazing job. Lauren is really good at what she does. I love the airbrush it makes me feel like I have no makeup on and she does such a good job at blending in blush and bronzer and her creativity for eye shadow colors are amazing. She did my wedding makeup and not only did I look gorgeous all my bridesmaids were extremely happy with their makeup as well. So much so that 2 of them are using her for their wedding.
