Ahh Wiki Fresh... This is actually another one of my go too spots in Hilo. They have healthy options, and are very generous with portions. That's enough to win me over! Here's what I usually order... Large bowl, tossed greens, rice, black beans, chicken or beef, tomato salsa, garlic basil pesto, cheese, peanuts, sunflower seeds, and jalapeno. First time in. Girls behind the counter were soooo helpful and extremely friendly walked me through the menu and told me about meatless monday discounts and the 4 to 6 happy hour dollar off beers I got a veggie wrap and spicy chips and of course had to have a beer too! Many different options available...bowls, wraps, soft tacos, nachos... Lots of different toppings to choose from. Food is awesome, always fresh. Grilled chicken is consistently flavored well. Pesto sauce is delish. Download the Five-star app to get awesome deals. Workers are awesome. We've been coming to the island for a few years now, and we finally made it to WikiFresh. I didn't know what to expect, but whatever subconscious expectations I had, WikiFresh exceeded them. Yes. Just yes. This restaurant confirms my desire to move to Big Island (an unfortunate goal, as my fiance is stationed at Pearl Harbor and my job is also in Honolulu). Literally, this restaurant is Chipotle, but better. Granted I've only been here once and tried one thing, but I was /happy/ with it, and liked it more than Chipotle.In case you haven't had the honor of trying Chipotle since I don't believe there's one on the islands, it's basically build-your-own Mexican-American food. Similar to Moe's as well, but there's definitely a different feel between Moe's and Chipotle. You start with the choice of a bowl, wrap, or taco, pick your type of rice, beans, meat, salsa, veggies, and whatever else you'd like to put on it. As you can see in my photo, that bowl (regular size... they have a large option) is piled high, and everything surprisingly went together despite how much of a mis-match it was. I also like that they offered turkey as a protein option, and it was moist and flavorful.Thanks to my Yelp check-in, I got a free infused water. The cashier made genuine conversation with me and asked a lot of questions and was exceptionally kind. During my time at the store, a man spilled his water and the crew quickly and cheerfully cleaned up. My meal was inexpensive and filling (I nearly didn't eat dinner), and I was happy to feel like I had eaten something healthy in the middle of my work trip. They even let me know I could call ahead and have my meal ready for me next time, or have the space set up for a business meeting if necessary.Parking was a bit of bear - the lot was full and I had to go around a couple times before a spot opened up.
