Tom and Marilyn are incredibly caring and passionate people who believe in the work they do and constantly strive to grow. In the time I have known them we have crossed paths at training workshops, and had plenty of chats about workshops and conferences that we have not managed to attend together. These two kind, compassionate people took my dogs at a time when I was incredibly discouraged. After nearly a year working with another trainer, I had watched the addition of a second dog slowly unravel my household. Dogfights and reactivity had escalated to the point of serious damage being done. My older dog was so stressed out,w his behavior was more erratic than ever and now included biting a friend, something he would not have done prior. I had made some progress switching trainers and tactics, but I needed something more to get us into a safe space. Wicked Lucky Dogs was the something more.Tom took each of my dogs for two weeks and developed some solid foundations we could build on. While we still had a lot of work to do, Tom stopped by for continued support and invited us back to learn from him at his place as well. He cares about my dogs, and especially loves my bully. If you have amped up dogs who are constantly high on adrenaline, Tom and Marilyn have a very calming presence that could do wonders for your dogs.Dog training can be a very divisive space and while Tom and I train differently these days, he has always respected my choices and remained a friend. He worked with my finances when I was down the cost of a few trainers, expensive emergency vet trips, and one human emergency room trip. I can't say enough about his compassion, nor about the foundation that he gave my dogs that allowed us all to live happily together in the same house. My spaniel has been a completely better dog and is offleash reliable with Tom's help. My bully and I have been able to grow into a solid partnership and mostly enjoy a reactivity free life (and definitely enjoy a lack of dogfights). I enjoy watching his business evolve and grow and I know that if you decide Tom and Marilyn are the right trainers for you, they will give you their best foot forward. More...

We took our rescue Lab, Sparky, to Tom for training. In a week, Tom trained Sparky to walk nicely on a leash (there had been a lot of pulling before) and also worked on several commands with him. We now use the place command daily in our home. Money very well spent. More...

Best dog training ever. Highly recommended. My dog Layla did not walk well on a leash and she was possessive over toys, in one short week Tom help train Layla and myself to better walk on a leash and gave me tips to work on her toys at home. Whole different dog, and she is still doing great! More...

To sum up a long review, we have a completely different dog who is no longer defensive or anxiety ridden, and is obedient. She has her occasional day where she tries to be defiant, but we use what we were taught to correct her behavior and she listens. Thank you Tom! If you want life changing training, this is the place to go. I slowly gained custody and now have full ownership of a St.Bernard, that was left in the care of poor pet owners by someone I once knew. As a result of poor caretakers and whatever she went through, I now had a 100lb+ dog who was afraid of strangers, very anxious, defensive, and didn’t listen very well(if at all). I took her to Tom upon a recommendation. His prices are also very competitive compared to all of the popular, good(key word here, you get what you pay for.) dog trainers in Colorado that I looked at. We did the board and train, and got her on the weekends. We also had multiple sessions where Tom trained us as well. We immediately saw the change in her and us. It did take time after the initial training for her to improve 100%, but these things do take time. We can now introduce her to new people and walk her without conflict. She rarely barks or growls now. If she does we correct how we were taught and she stops, and even now it’s a small bark or a little growl. There’s even been multiple instances of off leash dogs running up, or people. Now she just watches and does nothing, instead of freaking out like she did in the past. He also taught her(and us), place. Now if we need her to stay away while we’re eating, or cleaning, etc. She stays in her “place” until we tell her she can release. More...

I wanted to share my experience with Tom and Marilyn ( Owners and Trainers ) When my bf and I reached out to them our two dogs ; a boxer and a Olde English Bulldoggee, both males began having problems getting along. They were resource guarding, fighting, and we lost complete control over our dogs. It got so bad to the point we were considering getting rid of them which was an ABSOLUTE last resort. Tom came over to our house TWICE to review their behavior, educate us on what the process would be and worked out a financial plan that was going to be fesible for my partner and I. Not to mention both of them were VERY respectful that we are a LGBT couple. Tom ended up doing a in home board and train with Vance, our bulldogge who we believed to be the agressor, didnt listen at all and was very defiant. Opie our boxer recieved in home training as he caught on alot easier then Vance. Tom continously would answer our calls or texts when we had problems. Things settled down for awhile and due to the fault of my partner and I not being as consistant as we should have began to have issues again. At that point Tom picked up the training right where we left off and this time my partner and I took training alot more seriously. We had to utilize muzzle training while dogs where in the house along with place command in order to reaclimate them to living with each other and understanding that neither of them were the Alpha. During this period Tom advised to keep dogs completely seperate, it was hard at first but since following his training and putting our trust in him our dogs now can walk properly on a leash, be in the house in place without muzzles ( we can even leave the room ) and put them in the backyard again together with toys. Although nothing is perfect in life the freedom that Tom's knowledge gave us has allowed us to gain control again over our home and our pets. We utilize his techniques everyday ( Not to mention we learned how to cook pasta the correct way from Tom hahahaha ) Tom and Marilyn truly make a great team. Marilyn brings a more hollistic approach to training which I think is amazing and very helpful if you have a very tense dog , plus its great for the owners too, because dog never bit there were times I felt uneasy because I couldn't read his body language or behavior. Tom is the disciplinary one who is excellent at teaching how to run a pack. A thousand thank yous to them both. Steve and I will FOREVER be in debt to them for what they provided us. Please, if your at the end of your rope and you feel you have no other alternative, reach out to them. Nobody can guarentee it's going to work but I assure you that their confidence, experience and professionalism will shine through! I look forward to doing some fence training with Vance our bulldog this spring/summer.Justin, Steve, Vance & Opie More...

Tom, Tessa, and Sara made walking my dog fun again! Within one short week, they took my anxious, bull-headed dog, and transformed her into a respectable member of doggy society who is super attentive to whoever is walking her. Not only did Tom and his team reverse years of worsening behavior in Riley, they spent multiple hours teaching me how to keep Riley moving in the right direction.  Not every dog trainer can handle difficult dogs, but Tom and his team have proven they can reverse dangerous behavior! Tom trained my pitbull lab mix, Jax, after he was attacked by another larger dog. He helped teach Jax how to remain calm in high anxiety situations and to stop his leash aggression. Jax now listens to commands and knows to not break command until I tell him he is allowed. Jax had a two week board and train program with Tom and it is hands down the best thing I ever did for my dog and me. He is a great teacher not only to the dog but also to the owner. I would highly recommend Tom and his training services- life changing!! More...

Tom has trained my Pitbull Doily. Doily is a rather meaty boy so he needed to behave especially in public. Tom took Doily for 2 weeks of boot camp. The transformation was amazing. I had used many trainers in the past for my black labs. The dogs would behave for the trainer. Tom actually trained me to manage sweet Doily. Doily is the first dog we’ve had that heels on a leash with absolutely no pulling. Tom turned Doily into a well behaved pleasure to own. We attend his monthly pack walks as well. Best trainer we’ve ever used. You can really tell that Tom loves dogs! More...

Sending my dog to Wicked Lucky Dogs training was the best decision!! I found Tom after I had my baby girl in March, 2018. My dog had a terrible reaction when I brought her home . He barked non stop at her and he couldn't even stay in the same house. Many people told me I should give my dog away. I talked to multiple trainers in the area and got poor advice from all of them. When I called Tom, he was on it! He came over the next day for a consult. He was so prompt and confident. He met my dog and even that day when my dog first met him, he was behaving better. I sent him to the board and train for a week. He came home a different dog! There is no trainer like him!! I actually still can't believe it. I can walk him with ease, which before was not the case. He knows his place in the family now. And most importantly, he adores my little girl. Their relationship is the sweetest thing. I am forever grateful to Tom for helping me keep my family together. Tom is amazing! I got Al from a shelter last year when he was about 1.5yrs. Over the course of the subsequent year I took him to 3 basic training programs both private and offered through the humane society. Despite that, he was still pulling me into oncoming traffic on walks each day, eating the trash at home, and showing random and extreme aggression towards other dogs. At my whits end, I contacted Tom at Wicked Lucky Dog Training. The first time we met for a consultation at Rough & Ready Dog Park, it was easy to see the immediate trust Al had in Tom. I was about to leave for a month long business trip and decided to enroll Al in a 4 week board and train program at Wicked Lucky Dog Training, feeling I was out of options. The first day I had Al back there was a very noticable shift in his demeanor- he listened to commands, was calmer in the house, could interact with other on-leash dogs without incident, and had clearly established a trust in humans which he did not have before. A month later, Al and I's relationship is only improving. I would recommend Wicked Lucky Dog Training to anyone struggling to establish trust, and therefore obedience, in their dog! More...

We recently got a young black lab puppy and came to find that our 9 year old Pomeranian did not like her one bit. They couldn’t even be in the same room together so we thought we would have to give the puppy back until we found Tom at lucky jacks dog training. We thought we could only have a one dog home and Tom helped give us the training and confidence needed to have a happy two dog home. I would highly recommend this training. More...

Amazing!!!! Tom and Marilyn are such wonderful people, and I am so blessed I came across them on facebook when I was frantically searching for help with dog training. I started off with 2 small rescues, sweet but stubborn. Pulling while walking, barking, running away, anxiety. From the initial consult, my family was in love. They were so knowledgeable in their practice and have dealt with all sorts of scenarios. A lot of people try to rush my nervous chihuahua/ Jack Russel mix, but right away Tom could tell she was a nervous dog and let her warm up to him. I did not say a word, he could just pick up on my dogs' behaviors.I was given so many tools to practice, and throughout the process was made very easy. The hardest part is re- training the human, because I spoil my dogs too much. But any questions or concerns I had, they were always a text or phone call away no matter how odd the question, and that I really appreciated.  The patience here was tremendous!!So  a few months later when I rescued a pitbull puppy and was completely frazzled and clueless I knew exactly who I was going to call. They have a big love for pitties, and work well will all dogs. After just the first day, my energetic pup was walking perfect on the leash!!If it was not for Lucky Jack Dog training I would not have the piece of mind I do today. Give them a call if you want someone knowledgeable who will be there for you every step of the way. Best Trainers ever! More...
