A) You get what you put into it - the program is great if you're willing to apply yourselfB) Why is the food so terrible?I went to a different treatment center about a month prior and this place was "night and day" different for the better . It was a well-oiled machine when it came to operations - you need meds or want to ask admissions a question BOOM, your request gets called in over the radio and they will pull you out of class to address your concern. Many classes and groups required active participation from everyone or at least "homework" for upcoming sessions or simply for reference. The chiropractor, massages, and biobed were all accessible. Very clean campus and everything is new (used to be a model home community).  I'm really glad I went here and I appreciate what they did for me... I even read the big book cover to cover while I was here. Downside: not everything is listed in absolute detail on the website so you will have some questions once you arrive. The "fitness center" looks wayyyyyyy better in the photos and you have to be creative to get in a good workout. Really the worst thing was the food. They have a full kitchen, but outsource the food from a local church. It's edible to describe it best, but so disheartening when everything else is top notch. Honestly, the food is not satisfactory and a real difference between 4 and 5 stars. Bottom Line: highly recommended. More...

Simply put, White Sands saved my life. In the upcoming months prior to coming into the Fort Myers facility I was bouncing around from treatment centers and detoxes. Until I found myself at White Sands. From the moment I got there, I was welcomed in. Not just by the amazing staff; those of which remember who I am, and actually care about me but also from the amazing community that gets build inside those walls. If I ever was feeling down about something, either one of the great BHTs or therapists or even people who work around the premises would reach out and not allow me to go through things alone. The nursing staff here is amazing too, I could come to them with anything and they wouldn’t judge or turn me down. Overall this place is amazing. Anyone out there who is wanting to enter a new amazing life of recovery should definitely come here. I’ve never been truly happy in life or within myself until I walked through those doors. I have participated in another IOP program, and this one is much better. The staff from location level to Corporate level are wonderful. I was having an insurance issue with getting in the program and an amazing gentleman named Jay worked my case and made it happen! All the while keeping in contact with me and making me feel like he/they really cared and wanted me to not only participate in their program, but be successful as well. I could on and on about this place. I mean it when I say they saved my life. Danielle and Mark are part of the alumni and let me tell you that they are my guardian angels. They check up on you through the good and the bad. Danielle is the most selfless person on this planet. If it wasn’t for her I’d be dead. I was put on methadone, morphine and fentanyl spray for pain management. I took methadone for 20 years. When I arrived, nobody had heard of a case like mine. I was in the emergency room 4 hours after arrival. 3 days later the same. Truth be told I wasn't expected to survive. The doctors and nurses watched me around the clock. They never gave up on me. My therapist, was absolutely lovely. Today, I enjoy yoga because she taught me. White Sands therapists, are wonderful yoga instructors (especially the married couple who taught me other types of yoga and how to speak in a very low voice which calms me and those around me). What can I say about the technicians, they may have to help you follow the rules, but they can also be patient, kind and professional. White Sands, is the perfect place to go for addiction. From the moment I walked in I felt safe and cared about. I learned so many things about myself and began to understand my addiction. We had amazing counselors and groups. Everyone there patients, techs, nurses, housekeeping, doctors, kitchen staff, Don, store manager, after care, (that to this day a year later are still here by my side) and instructors all contributed to helping me feel joy and happiness again. I still find it difficult to express in words what White Sands, the staff, and the other patients mean. To me, rehabilitation was something I could only dream off, a television show if you must (intervention). I’m not sure exactly how I made it to White Sands, nor did I even know which state I was in when arriving. I made it to the facility in pretty rough shape, and I was terrified. The staff was more than just accommodating, it was truly as if I had met my long lost family, for I’m pretty sure if it was not for the atmosphere, love shown, and restraint shown by staff when I would lose my mind, I would have not made it through and most likely wouldn’t be here now. I wouldn't suggest any other treatment center than White Sands Treatment Center. My experience there was like no other when it came down to addiction and treatment. Here I was able to experience a whole new light on what it resembled to be calm and maintain sobriety within the process of having fun with all the great activities that are given here.
