Meant to review about a month ago. I rode up to Evanston from Chicago one weekend and blew my tire... conveniently right around the corner from Wheel & Sprocket! I left my bike outsider with my friend walked in, asked if I could get a flat fixed on the fly, and was Happily asked "well, where's your bike? Bring it in!" I was helped by two wonderful employees whose names I wish I had gotten. They fixed my flat within 20 minutes and it was reasonably priced. If you’re looking for a great bike shop staffed by awesome people, pay a visit to Wheel & Sprocket in Delafield. These guys know their stuff. They recently rebuilt my road bike for me from the frame up. The guys in the shop assisted me with all aspects of my rebuild from choosing the correct groupo to suggesting a great new set of wheels to replace my old broken one. These guys know their stuff. Visited Wheel & Sprocket for the first time the evening of 7/16/19 to purchase two sets of fenders and two rear racks. Their sales and service staff were incredibly helpful. They helped us pick out the right size fenders for both bikes. When we had some questions and difficulty with the install the service technician took the time to answer our questions and assist. I know very little about bikes, other than how to ride one. When my bicycle stopped working properly, I brought it here (honestly, because they were open and the shop closer to me was not).  I am so glad I did.  First, the figured out that my baby's seat was dragging on the wheel a bit & then there was a slight problem with the gears. Initially, they told me to leave my bike with them, but I explained that it's my primary mode of transportation and I would not be able to get it from them tomorrow.  So they fixed it while I waited and it was just $40. I'm so pleased to have had such quick and excellent service. Guess I've found my go-to bike shop! More...

Greats guys and gals here. 5 stars for the A/C (JK haha).I came in here because the other bike shops are either saying I will see my bike next week if I drop it off, or, are charging $40 for bike wheel "trueing" - turns out my bike only needed a little spoke adjusting and things like that. The mechanics here, real friendly and helpful, diagnosed and fixed in on the spot! And they also helped me raise the seating and fix the handlebar angle. DEFINITELY coming back here for all bike related things.Fair guys, cool air conditioning, knowledgeable mechanics, and just the best bike guys un the Northshore area. You guys rock! More...

I recommend Wheel & Sprocket with confidence!I have been here four times. Once for service, two to buy parts/accessories, and another for help with a previous purchase. Everyone I've met is so friendly and know what they're talking about. Nicely organized store. Good selection of accessories. Prices on parts and the floor air pump were competitive.I thought service was write expensive, but I don't have anything to compare it to. They did a nice job.I have not shopped there for actual bikes, but they seem to have a good selection.When I returned for help with a previous purchase (tire tubes) I got good free instructions as to what to do next. After 29 years,I treated myself to a new bike today. After shopping at another local bike shop feeling completely intimated and bikes waaaay out of my budget, I went to a local big box store and didn’t see anything I liked there either. So having good service experience in the past at your store, I went to your shop ‘just to see’... Ryan greeted me right away and made me feel comfortable enough to even ask for help. Having recently had my knees partially replaced, I knew only a certain way to peddle would be comfortable, not feeling overly confident and wanting to get back out and enjoy life. I explained very simply what I thought I needed, he knew right away what would work for me with my limitations. We took it on a test ride in the parking lot & after a few tweaks to the height adjustment, I could ride a bike pain free! They even assembled one for me while I waited in the color I chose. Tonight I rode almost 6 miles for the first time ever completly pain free & comfortable I didn’t fear falling! I read an article recently about the decline in bike riding amongst the younger generation and while that is a terrible thing and is no doubt happening for many reasons I am sure, bike shops can be a turnoff. Many places are not friendly and purchasing a bike is often a huge financial commitment so people end up at Target. Going to a big box store to purchase a bike will not give you the information, connection or help needed to make the choice that then gets you excited about biking. Wheel & Sprocket is that special shop. They spend thoughtful, quality time with you and there is nothing snotty about their shop culture. Took my bike in for the first time this week for annual servicing. Rather than pushing a package, Petar took care to look my bike over with me there to recommend what work he felt should be done and why. He asked all about my riding conditions, frequency, duration, and plans for this year, as a good doctor would. He gave me both compliments and tips on my self-servicing techniques. I received a text and e-mail just 24 hours later that the work was finished. Petar recognized me when I picked up the bike, and charged exactly the quoted amount, no surprises. The front desk gentleman held the door for me to wheel the bike outside. Very pleasant experience where I felt valued and respected, and the turn-around time beat expectations by a lot. I'm a year-round bike commuter. This is my main vehicle. I bought my bike at W&S, and they do the vast majority of the maintenance. All of the mechanics are really outstanding and when I bought my original bike there 3 years ago after 20 years on my old one, they really understood the kind of durability and practicality I wanted and found a bike that fit me well. When less than a year later I got hit by a car on that bike and they had to deal with the insurance company to get it assessed and figure out if it could be repaired or had to be replaced, they took care of everything (I was still recovering) and I went back there to find all my old gear on a new bike, ready for me to go. I would trust mechanic Gretchen's advice on all things bike practicality and weather- or commute-appropriate gear, they're totally awesome and they even helped me pick out a seat that allows me to ride totally pain free even on long hauls. Some of the sales staff and several of the mechanics know me by name when I go in, and the text messages letting me know my bike is ready after repair or tune up mean I'm never waiting around. I had one less than satisfactory experience with a new salesperson there who I'd never seen before when I went  to get my son a new bike last June (she was truly pushy and annoying), but I've been back on several occasions since and not seen her again, so I think they figured out she was a poor fit.
