Beautiful and interesting. This is one of my favorite places in Key West. It very well kept with beautiful flowers year round. The layout allows for leisurely walks without bumping into people all the time. The plants are clearly labeled for those who are botanical buffs. One sweet spot is the butterfly garden. It is open air but there always seems to be a variety of butterflies. This is great garden for kids as well. More...

We enjoyed a short walk amongst the verdant landscape of tropical plants in the rain. The grandkids were able run around and enjoy the fort.

Easily the most beautiful and peaceful part of Key West. The butterflies, the flowers, the birds, and the view make the garden a dream.

Love this place. Beautiful gardens mixed with interesting ruins of the old west martello tower. Parking is easy. Adjacent to other fun spots to see and spend time at. Sad to see that the giant banyan tree over the arch did not survive the hurricane a couple years ago. More...

You must go and visit the Butterfly garden!!! There are beautiful small and quaint places in key west away from the hustle bustle drunken duval street. This tower houses one of the most gorgeous gardens inside a once used fortification. The lady who runs this place is very sweet and you can host events here. Now back to the butterfly garden. Its nestled in the back past the water foundation and is a circular garden with various plants that attract monarchs. Sit on the benches and enjoy the breeze from the water and watch these monarchs fly around you nonstop. More...

Amazing place with interesting history. The key west garden club has transformed this fort into an amazing little slice of paradise. There is a butterfly area in which we saw tons of Monarch butterflies, there's a couple different cacti, a fountain, and many flowering shrubs. There is no cost to explore the fort but they do like donations. The donations go towards keeping the fort in good shape. We recommend this place! It's beautiful! More...

Best Wedding place! We didnt want a beach wedding and this place is basically on the beach. We got married in at most beautiful botanical gardens at the gazebo with the ocean behind us. The views are amazing. I couldn't have picked a better place. It was like having a beach wedding without all that sand that I didn't want but with the ocean. We got married June 16, 2019 on Fathers Day. I highly recommend this if you don't want a beach wedding but would like a botanical garden wedding with a ocean view. More...

This was a hidden gem on our trip to Key West. I found it by scouring Pinterest to see what we should do. This old fort and gardens are absolutely beautiful and, it’s free! We spent about 30-45 mi it’s here and it’s right off the beach. It was a welcome destination between all the other fast-paced items we did in Key West! More...

A historic site maintained and beautified by a local garden society. Beautifully maintained (not manicured) gardens, fortress ruin features, little gazebos, views, fountains, and sitting areas. Pure heaven in the heat of the day. Clean washrooms, lovely staff. I can imagine a stupendous cocktail reception here. Free, but donations welcome. Please donate to show respect and help keep this a gem that keeps giving to us - visitors and residents alike! More...
