Gordon started working with us by the time our puppy was around 11-12 weeks old and I’m so glad we did. He’s given us an amazing template to help our girl, Biscuit get on the right path to being an enjoyable and responsive puppy.

I found Gordon Webster through a post on Bark close to a month ago, and have done seven sessions with him. I can't recommend him highly enough.

My family adopted a rescue dog, about one year old, at the end of July. He's the third rescue we've had over the past twenty years; in that time I've worked with five or six trainers for various amounts of time.

Gordon distinguishes himself in a number of ways. He's knowledgeable; has worked with a large number and wide range of dogs; and has a family background in training & breeding dogs.

He won't just make your dog sit: Gordon will help you understand why your dog would +want+ to sit for you. He understands that canine psychology isn't the same as its owners, and while he clearly loves dogs, Gordon doesn't anthropomorphize. He is also clear that he's not really with you for an hour at a time to train your dog. He's there to train +you+ how to best work with your dog to obtain the desired results.

On a practical level, Gordon's responsive, flexible, and generous with his time. He's encouraged me to text him questions in between our sessions, and has followed up with a detailed phone call rather than just a yes or no text. He's happy to tailor sessions to whatever it is I'm interested in working on.

There are lots of dog trainers advertising on the Westside of LA, many with little experience and dubious methods. Gordon's the real thing, and I feel lucky to have found him. More...

A true dog whisperer in your living room! The first session with Gordon, my son and I looked at each other in complete disbelief…our crazy 3 month old, 25 lb puppy was calm and obedient. He was not only listening, but seemed to want to listen. And he was definitely happier listening and following Gordon than he was prior. Gordon left us that day with the distinct impression that our pup wanted to please us, and that through daily repetition of positive reinforcement exercises, he would learn how to do that. Dog training is not magical. It requires effort from the owner to work with their dog. This felt super daunting to me, but Gordon’s simple, systematic approach has made it so much easier. Gordon is amazing! My dog Sage is a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix and desperately needed training to address reactivity and to improve her obedience. Hiring Gordon was one of the best decision I’ve made for my Mona Lisa. Mona is a Border Collie/Pit Bull mix that had extreme anxiety and fear reactivity that essentially kept us isolated from going on walks and being around people outside of our family, which makes apartment living extremely difficult. I’ve been training my dog Hiro with Gordon for over one month now and I highly recommend him. Hiro is a 5-year-old lab mix that I adopted from the shelter. Like many shelter dogs, he was never properly trained as a puppy. The biggest issue is his reactivity. He is easily distracted and pulls his leash when he sees something that he wants to chase (squirrels, dogs, bikes, trucks, etc). Gordon’s reward-based training method works very well for Hiro. Not only does Hiro look forward to his training sessions every week, he quickly learned the basic commands and is working his way through some of the more complex ones. He is getting much better on his walks too and constantly checks in with me with eye contact. Gordon Webster of Websters Dog Training , came as a recommendation from a friend.
Our new 4 month Belgium Malonois, Frankie , was already quite a handful and we felt we needed professional help and quickly.
Gordon was very detailed on our first call and followed up with a great

in person consultation ( both of these were free as well..!), where he set out the training program and our place in it as owners and team players.
Everything was organized and detailed where we could daily/weekly understand what he would be working on and also know what our focus was for that week.
The entire program is 8 weeks long with two visits a week, we chose the Mon/Thu option but there’s Tue/Fri and Wed/Sat offered as well.
What sealed the deal for us was his gentle approach with Frankie, which was kind and reassuring but also firm when required.
They offer various payment options and we chose the “ week to week “ plan, where you pay at the end of each lesson - this let us spread the cost, which was great on a budget.
Frankie has already learnt ten hand commands and twenty vocal commands also.
His loose leash walking is a dream and when he has finished teething we have decided to stay with Websters Dog Training for weekly hiking and also Skate Board Training lol..!

We are beyond grateful that we found Gordon! We had a new puppy and it had been many years since my partner or I had a puppy and we wanted to make sure we did things right with proper training to keep our wee little pup safe and happy and well behaved! I reached out to a few dog trainers and was not impressed. They either wanted some enormous sum of money up front or they wanted us to drop off our pup for weeks at a time for training at their facility. When we met up with Gordon it felt like a perfect fit. Training using positive reinforcement, at a reasonable cost with lots of notes and checklists and weekly sessions. I was at my wits end with nighttime crate training and with one conversation and some tools Gordon have us - we and the pup are getting a great night sleep now! We hired Gordon after rescuing a puppy of 5 months. We were a little out of our depth but Gordon quickly got us on track . . Crate, pee pad and obedience training straight away and also helped us establish a schedule for Bella that was structured with progressive steps to help her grow in confidence. Loving the process..!! Gordon came as a recommendation from a
friend after we brought home our 9
week old puppy. I called and he came
by straight away. One of the first things
he did was to walk around the garden
and point out potential safety concerns
and then went inside the house and did
the same. He made some
recommendations on what to change in
order for our pup to have a happy and
successful transition.
Gordon started on the basic
commands: Sit, down, stay and come
and she had those mastered in a matter
of weeks. He would send videos so we
could all watch and follow his hand
and voice commands. Next he started
on "leave it" and collar and leash
training.
Our pup is always ecstatic when he comes over so she clearly
has total trust in him. In fact I get text
messages from my neighbors telling
me how great they think Gordon is after
seeing or hearing him with our pup in the
garden. The words "kind" "gentle" and
"calming" always pop up. In fact
someone who lives down the street has
now enlisted Gordon to help with her
own dog. Gordon has also spent time
educating our 8 yr old son on how to be
a good pet owner teaching that what he
does now creates the dog she will

We hired Gordon after getting Ben our Golden Doodle of 8 weeks. Gordon set about helping straight away with a few changes in the house, together with additional safety tips. He then gave us a training schedule which had weekly/monthly goals. The first session with Gordon ( which was free ) covered setting up a Potty Schedule for Ben that would help him/us train his bladder.We then worked Sit&Come with Ben.. who just loved the process. Gordon is hands down the best dog trainer I could possibly imagine having the pleasure working with. I joke that he is a dog whisperer (he might actually be! ), but I can confirm he is extremely knowledgable and is more than competent-- he is extraordinary. On top of this, he is genuinely compassionate and loving. He is always responsive when I reach out during the week for advice or questions. He also has done me many favors when I've been in a bind and need care for my dog-- he really goes above and beyond.

For background, I had just gotten a 1-year-old rescue dog, 55 pounds, who had been in a shelter for months followed by a week or so of foster care. Naturally, given his background, he came with many issues-- high levels of reactivity, aggression, lack of impulse control, fear, trust problems, no leash training-- you name it. I was in way over my head and desperate.

Enter Gordon. I know calling him a savior sounds like an exaggeration, but he really did save us. Gordon started by helping me develop a schedule for my dog and creating an environment that would help balance him out and make him feel most comfortable. We worked on the basics (come, sit, wait)-- by the end of the first week, my dog was able to begin more complex commands like laying down and learning not to go on furniture.

By week 2, my dog had already begun to master all his basic commands and ramped up quickly on the more complex commands. We had completely eradicated the furniture issue, and we worked on both leash training and "fun" things like waving to people. My dog had become significantly more balanced and his aggression began to dissipate. Week 3 and 4, I feel like I have a completely different dog. He is much more trusting and continues to improve every single day.
