Joe came into our home and worked with our rambunctiou-s lab/vizla mix for three plus hours. His focus is so straightforward - understanding how a dog's brain works and why we have to take an active role in training her to be in tune with us, not the other way around. Joe was on-time, on-point and a great help to our family. Thanks Joe ! More...

I highly recommend Joe.  We have 3 dogs, our Yorkie hates other dogs but loves people. He wants to attack every dog he sees regardless of the size.  Our Aussie loves other dogs but is afraid of people so she growls whenever she is approached.  Our Mini-Pen  is an adopted stray that is learning only the bad habits of the other 2.  Needless to say, there was chaos whenever we took the 3 out together.  After only 2 sessions  with the 3 and one day trip with the Aussie all has changed.  When on leashes, the Aussie will sit on command and allow  strangers to pet her without growling.  I can take her to Starbucks  without her scaring the other customers.  The Yorkie will sit and allow other dogs to pass somewhat peacefully.  The Mini-Pen, well what can I say, she's a Mini-Pen with a very short attention span.  She now minds very well, just not for very long.   Amazing progress in a short period of time.  Joe teaches you how to control your pets. Joe is awesome and has a special talent working with dogs. My “mini” golden doodle, Maci connected with Joe very quickly. Joe gave me tools and a new method to help with Maci’s overactive personality . The leash method works really great and in the first day there was noticeable positive changes. I am very grateful that I found Joe and would recommend him to anyone looking for a dog trainer. Not only does he work with your dog, but with you too. Thank you Joe! More...

My husband and I had just added a 12 week old Rhodesian Ridgeback to our family. I googled dog trainers and Joe had the best reviews. I didn’t hesitate to contact him. From our first conversation I knew he cared about dogs and that with the experience he has that he’d be perfect for our new addition. He was everything we expected and more! We did the initial training and with just that 3 hours, Nebi has learned so much, as well as my husband and I. We continue to use the tips and information provided by Joe. We will most definitely use him again as our baby continues to grow. I highly recommend Joe, and his prices are affordable!! Thanks Joe. Drew and I appreciate your help with our new pup. More...

I had serious doubts as to whether anyone would be able to help my son's totally jacked-up Jack Russell Terrier puppy Jeffrey. Jeffrey would bite you for petting him. He barked and growled like he was homicidal. I thought my son might have no choice but to surrender him to the pound. I called Joe who came out to my son's apartment for a three hour doggy boot camp. At the end of three hours, Jeffrey was more puppy than monster. Just as valuable, my son is now equipped to handle this puppy. The three hours provided him a master class in compassionate puppy training. I recommend Way of a Dog without reservation. More...

I found myself way in over my head after I adopted my 85 pound Pitbull/Doberman. This laid-back, quirky dude showed up for this three hour appointment I booked and helped guide me in the right direction. Seeing how confident Joe was while working with my somewhat aggressive dog and watching how well my dog responded when it was my turn to use what Joe had taught me really made me hopeful about regaining control over my uncontrollable dog. My confidence is growing as I continue to use all of the tools I learned during my time with Joe. Porter is a much happier dog and I am much happier not feeling completely overwhelmed. Love Joe! Would recommend him to anyone that wants to learn how to be a better leader to their furry one! More...

Way of the Dog Trainer, Joe Ozier, possesses a connection with dogs, in which they positively respond to immediately. He believes in each dog he works with. Through his kind and loving training, the dogs reciprocate by wanting to please him, as they obey his direction and await his next command. He instills confidence in their ability to learn and obey, and in return they willingly obey.I witnessed this myself.I was in need of a home for a handsome, untrained, abandoned, Queensland Heeler. After Joe's initial first hour with Rusty, Rusty walked with more confidence, looked to me for basic commands, and looked for Joe to return for more training. It was amazing.Joe returned and Rusty became the dog every dog owner would be proud of.Rusty now resides in a beautiful mountain home, with a very pleased and loving family.I thank Joe, (and his rescued Pup Partner, Jimmy), for genuine caring and sharing of his gift and expertise. Joe provides practical and instantly effective training for the dog and the humans in your home. Having him come to us allowed us work with specific issues in our home such as Kimme chasing our male cat on a daily basis. The "sit, stop, wait" approach used by Joe helped her to stay focused, learn to listen, STOP chasing the cat multiple times a day, and bring an overall calm to our home. The techniques can be practiced on your own and the home visits from Joe are far more effective than any group lessons we've had. Kimme is a Husky mix and Huskies are notoriously head strong meaning Kimme often ignores commands. She is much better after just a few sessions and we intend to use Joe's talent and services when we add to our pack in the future. More...
