Kristen always provides great service and makes you feel comfortable throughout your whole visit. All the staff are friendly, and kind to offer champagne when you check in. My husband and I initially came in because this is one of the few locations that offers services for men. He's seen Leah many times and had a wonderful experience with her. They always come out laughing about something.I highly recommend this location. I've been coming to Leah, the owner of Wax A Peel for about 7 years now! As her business grew, I followed her to three locations because she is the only one I trust! She is kind, efficient, and most of all, knowledgeable. I now live about an hour and a half away but I make special trips just to come to Wax A Peel because it's THAT great!! Okay, I've had 2 more waxes with Kristen & they are still awesome. This update is for the 4 spray tans I've now head with Leah. The new formula they are using is amazing -- friends that know me well know that if I'm ever tan, it has to be a spray tan but they always ask where I go because it's so natural looking. Those that don't know me well have commented "Did you just get back from vacation somewhere? You're so tan." which always makes me giggle. I decided to give Wax A Peel a try since I've been really focusing on my skin. Since currently using an acne regimen I really wanted to get rid of acne scarring after for years of picking at my face. I looked at reviews and decided to book online. This service was amazing. Right when walking in the door I was greeted right away and was offered champagne which I gleefully accepted. I didn't even need to wait five minutes when Ashley helped me to the room where the facial would be done. After getting settled she got started. Ashely explained the whole process every step of the way and she even complemented my recently done microblading which was so sweet of her to notice. When I got home I realized how supple and fresh my face looked. Even the next day I realized the scarring had significantly lightened. After moving from SF, I was on the hunt to find a new salon locally. So happy to have found one right in Lafayette! I've now had 2 Brazilian waxes with Kristin and both were great! The space is clean and my appointments always start on-time and I'm in and out quickly. It's also a plus that they offer sparkling wine when you check-in... who doesn't want that?! I have been going to Wax A Peel (specifically Leah) for years now, and I'll never go anywhere else. Not only does Leah have amazing, friendly, warm energy. .. she also really takes the time to get to know each of her clients. She has truly become a friend to me. Her waxing technique is cutting edge, the atmosphere in the entire place is chic yet soothing. And Leah really took the time and effort to help me figure out the perfect skin care routine for my historically ultra-sensitive skin. Great find/referral for two birthday facials for my mom and sister. Called beforehand to check if they accepted the spa finder gift cards and inquired about the facials since I wasn't sure what to book. The person was very friendly and knowledgeable. Both my mom and sister were super happy and enjoyed their facials! They said it was a great experience and both of their faces were noticeably brighter/less dull and even. I even asked my mom if she had put foundation on after (she turned 72) bc it was really hydrated and even. Anywho, I was very happy with everything and will make an appt for myself soon! This review is long overdue! I've been going to Wax A Peel for several years, and have seen a few Estheticians through the years, and each one was great! But this review is about my current Esthetician, Kristen! She is an absolute professional, not to mention a sweetheart. I've done numerous facials with her, often requesting her advice as to which facial would be the best for my needs, and my skin has never looked better! She helped calm down my acne and now we're working on removing my acne scars. She is also very gentle when doing waxes. I used to only do bikini waves, but I trusted her to do my first Brazilian, and she made it as painless as possible! Now I get them regularly. Wax A Peel has been my go to wax place for Brazilian's since 2014! I started going to Leah since I was pregnant with my son and she had her shop in Pleasant Hill, and then followed her when she moved her business to Lafayette. She is professional, down to earth, and a positive person. She always runs on time and booking appointments is easy. Access of appointments is great, I can always get in when I need to. This place is hands down the best place to get waxed in the East Bay! Coffee, water, or champagne is offered upon check in. They use incredible products for facials (Lira Clinical and Cosmedix). Alex is the best! Came in for a lip and brow wax and was blown away by Alex's talent. I'm not sure how she does it but I left looking like a million bucks. I told her I get super red after waxing and she put some magic on my brows to help with redness and irritation. She's super welcoming and personable which made me feel comfortable during a sometimes uncomfortable experience. Truly never write reviews for things, but I appreciate when good businesses follow up, and I loved my experience so I wanted to share! I have never had a facial and got the mini-facial and high frequency treatment, and I loved it. My skin felt revitalized, I was so relaxed, and my friends' raved about how fresh my face looked! the best part was my esthetician though. Just got my first facial done with the wonderful Alex, and I couldn't of had a better experience. Alex made me feel very comfortable and welcomed for my first ever facial. I loved how she explained what she was doing as she went and then also provided recommendations for maintaining great skin. She is so knowledgeable and seemed to love what she was doing. Book with Kristen she is so sweet and knows what she is doing!!! I went in for a the Mystic Vita Brite facial and felt so pampered and taken care of! Wax a peel is a super chic salon, and treatment room was super comfortable with an oil humidifier and music playing. The facial itself was super relaxing, my skin was feeling dull and the gentle exfoliation was the perfect treatment, my skin was glowing after and did not look red or irritated as it can after some facials! Kristen was super friendly and knowledgeable she gave me some pointers and sent me home with some of my now skincare necessities. I am in LOVE with the Lira Mystic cleanser and Lira bb cream, seriously a cleanser has never done me better!
