Speaking as someone who has been through the gamut of substandard mental healthcare - I can't tell you what it means to me to finally have found this place. It is an absolute gem. Jennifer Kalia: She's a great listener and for the FIRST TIME in 8 years of seeing psychiatrists I feel like I'm finally having the outcome I once thought was unattainable. She legitimately wants to see me succeed - and it is the sweetest and most genuine thing. I feel like I'm talking to a friend because she's very understanding and down to earth, but at the same time she is rock solid when it comes to knowing her meds. She's smart, responsive and she cares. She might be an actual unicorn. And then there is Mary: a freaking legend. I have never made it past a 1st visit with a therapist, and yet, I've seen Mary now on a weekly basis for about 2-3 months. Right away I knew I could trust her and that is huge for me. I felt like I'd made it, "home". Mary is the calmest, most loving and caring person and her genuine desire to help radiates. I've learned a couple of simple strategies to help me with some of the issues I've dealt with with anxiety and low self-esteem and just having those tools has already been such a game changer. For example: everyday I remind myself of what I did right at 8pm. That one simple mind hack is changing everything.
