We've had an exceptional experience with Ward’s Dog Training. Enrolling our two 2-year-old Great Pyrenees in a three-week training program proved to be a wise decision.
Initially, I harbored mixed feelings after previously working with another trainer, but Justin alleviated my concerns with his positive and thorough responses during our first meeting.
The trainers at Ward’s Dog Training, led by Justin, demonstrated excellence and profound knowledge throughout the program. Their commitment was evident through regular video updates showcasing the dogs' progress. Beyond the formal training period, Justin remains accessible for any questions or concerns that may arise, emphasizing that the learning process continues even after picking up the dogs.
We've continued our engagement with Ward’s Dog Training by utilizing their doggy daycare services, and we eagerly anticipate joining their group classes and gatherings scheduled for this spring. The positive transformation in our dogs' behavior became evident during the holiday season when family and friends visited. Their well-mannered and calm demeanor surprised everyone.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Ward’s Dog Training in Midlothian for their comprehensive and effective approach to dog training.

Justin did an amazing job working with our 2 fur boys! Our very nervous pointer mix and super energetic pit mix did the 2 week board and train and it was worth EVERY single penny! !! Our boys are much better listeners, walk fantastically on leash together, exude so much confidence, and so much more. We love Justin Ward. With 2 young German shepherds we needed help training them, not just the dogs but us as well. Asher and Zara did the 2 weeks board and train and came back amazing. We follow up with constant trips to Home Depot, Lowe’s, Atwood’s...where ever they are allowed. They are so well behaved and they love going. Justin even made an extra trip out to the house when we were having a visiting dog for 3 weeks and Asher wasn’t to keen with his presence in his home. Justin worked with us and made it at least tolerable through the duration of the stay. He also helped us out while our female Zara was in heat and Asher needed a place to stay to keep them separated. We have not made it to a “park” event yet but hope to do so soon. We have recommended Wards training to everyone that comments in their manners. Thank you Justin!!! More...

Justin has been wonderful! We have a very excitable pit bull who just didn’t have any manners! But now after just 4 lessons of mobile training, he is walking on a leash without pulling, staying on his place cot when we have company over, and getting better with recalls daily! Justin is passionate about training dogs to be better without taking their personality out of them. If a lesson isn’t working he changes his approach and tailors each drill to the dog. We cannot recommend Justin with Ward’s Dog Training enough! More...

I have 2 pit bulls, "Mr. River" & "Princess Jasmine". Justin Ward, with Ward's Dog Training, has worked with both my dogs. River was terrified of kennels. Actually left him at a Doggy Daycare Facility, while we went on vacation, only to have them call me & say, "Come get your dogs, River has destroyed our crates". Justin came to my house & showed me how to get River in his kennel & how to work with him so he would stay in it without being so stressed. It took a while, but "River" now goes into the kennel without being told to. He actually likes to sleep in there now. Justin also met with River & I at a city park & brought his own dog along so that River could learn to interact with other dogs. He's doing great now. On to "Jasmine" now. I purchased a training cot, per Justin's suggestion. I was shown how to teach Jasmine to get on the cot using the "place" command and how to make her "stay" there until given the command to "break", (ok to get off the cot). I can't say enough about the care & kindness that Justin has shown me & my dogs. He has the patience to answer all questions and even repeat the answers when my silly old mind doesn't catch it the first time.
