When the bulb on my 12-year old rear projection TV died for the second time, my first thought was to just replace it. I called around and found a local store that stocked the bulb I needed at Walt's TV and Repair on Ruby Drive in Tempe, AZ. They were close, so I drove straight there to purchase it. That's when I met Miles who had the new bulb sitting on his desk in the box ready for me to buy. But as we talked, he proceeded to explain to me (in great detail) why he thought that replacing the bulb was a bad idea. Now, I'm not a total dummy when it comes to home theater electronics, but when Miles started talking it was obvious he was way ahead of me in this area. I appreciated his technical expertise and willingness to be frank with me. I had to smile while we were talking as I realized he was literally talking me out of purchasing a $250 bulb. But that's Miles - his honesty was refreshing and needless to say we ended up discussing other options. I wasn't necessarily looking for a new TV at that time but he helped me find a gem of a unit that had been discounted because of a small scratch on the back, and I walked out with a heck of a deal on a new Samsung QLED with full factory warranty. Long story short, for the next week or so I ended up going back to Walt's TV half a dozen times in the process of upgrading my entire home theater system. Aside from the TV I ended up purchasing 2 subwoofers, a DVD player, and a new Pioneer receiver. Walt's is a great place to buy hardware, but the primary reason I now do all my electronics business with them is Miles. Great support before and after the sale and just a super nice guy! The mark of a company's service is how they handle mistakes or issues. In this case, I purchased an "Open Box, Like New" tv from this company, via eBay. What arrived, via truck line, 5 days later was indeed an open box, but the styrofoam casing on the inside was nearly all removed and the TV looked to be damaged. I was not able to personally inspect upon delivery, so we signed off with the truck company that we would inspect later. Upon full removal and viewing, the bottom portion of the screen was damaged and there was some missing contents. Walts was in constant communication throughout the whole process. We chatted via ebay mail and direct email. I kept expecting a non-response and to be left "high and dry" or to be told that "sorry, you signed off on the delivery". They did neither and saw the transaction all the way through delivering a perfect TV. While the process took some time(5-days to deliver, 5-days to ship back) they surprised me with expedited freight to deliver the TV. Mistakes and issues will happen, but it is how your recover and "make it right" that says a lot about a company. Natalie, Tricia & Ashley all did an amazing job at customer service! More...

I see the two negative reviews here and thought I would relay my experience with them. I placed an order with them on 02/01/2018 and ten days later I received my TV, brand new with a white glove delivery. I could not be happier with the whole process, quick, easy and I am very satisfied in every way. Some people have a better story to tell than others and I wanted to tell mine.
