Happy we decided on Walrus + Carpenter. The lighting, music, and staff made me want to hang here a while. The drinks were really good! I had the brisket plate. The meat was a tad dry, but it was tender, had a wonderful smokiness, and loved the bark! Cornbread and slaw were good, too. Not a fan of B + B pickles but that's a pretty minor point since my missus enjoys them More...

Pork belly, bologna and pimento cheese sandwich are the bomb. Ribs are awesome. Avoid the salads.

At least for me the mark of a good meal is when I wish I could eat more but too full. We went here for dinner on New Years Eve 2020 and it was easy to make a reservation on OpenTable about 48 hours before. They had a fairly extensive beer list and small plates to try which might be the way we go next time. We tried the salad and smokehouse wings for apps. The smokehouse wings were huge and delicious with walrus bbq flavor and we were getting full before dinner. The wife had the turkey and I had the southern fried chicken. Mine was falling off the bone and delicious.Service was great for NYE and my wife who is not a BBQ person agrees that we will be back. More...

Dope! Awesome! Definitely coming back! My buddy and I just had the McWalrus burger. Was excellent. The staff is really great! They know there stuff for sure and make great recommendations. The fries were killer too. This place has a great bar but also a large restaurant area on the side and in back. Can fit large parties or company outings. If I lived in CT I would go all the time. 100% No idea on the name and forgot to ask but it is certainly unique. Tons of beer options so it couldn't get old. Love the IPA selections and they do a mix from all over. A great experience, great atmosphere, great staff. See you next time! More...

Can't beat the Happy Hour. ALL drafts $5. None of the "select draft" crap other places do. HH Wings are also $5. Do yourself a favor and get the Carolina hot sauce, even though it's not on the menu!

Very cool place. Went there with the extended family and had a blast. Enjoyed their drinks, David’s Gin is great, and while the kids ordered a variety of sandwiches the 4 adults ordered “The Notorious “ sharing platter, wowee! !! Pulled pork, ribs, brisket, sausage, corn bread, chicken, Mac n cheese, beans etc.... oh man. More than enough for 4 and oh so tasty. Pickles are fantastic too. The band, holy cow they were awesome. Only reason not 5 stars is that they serve drinks in plastic when the band starts, even if you are dining. Who wants to drink wine from a plastic glass, acceptable on a beach but not in a restaurant. Nonetheless GO HERE. You will have a great time and the crowd is great. I will be back. More...

Food was good. Had the crispy brussel sprouts for an app and the brisket for the entree. The brisket was super tender. It was almost difficult to stab a piece with the fork because it fell apart so nicely. Needed some flavor though, but they have four different sauces on the table. The cornbread was tasty, but really dry and crumbly. The coleslaw amount was a joke. It was served in a small metal container that you would normally be served cocktail sauce or tarter sauce in. Liiiiisten....I don't mind traveling for good food and went here on a recommendation. I couldn't have been happier or more full. We had the Notorious P.I.G. (props for the name) and the food just "hypnotized me" (that's my joke for the evening-I'll see myself out). Seriously, each of the meats were savory, the sauces hit perfectly and I usually don't eat coleslaw but I literally wen with back for seconds. Get the wings too (I recommend the chipotle honey). Also, get yourself some lemonade. The waite staff were very kind and accommodating. The atmosphere was perfect, rustic and dimly lit. Was sort of busy but not too loud...able to talk to friends without having to yell. Thoroughly enjoyed myself *chef's kiss* More...

As a lover of cornbread, I had high hopes for this one and it was perfect in terms of texture and butteriness. The shrimp and grits were flavorful and creamy. The hush puppies were light and airy. The pork belly burnt ends were crispy, rendered perfectly with the perfect amount of smoke. The chili and avocado was a solid chili and the avocado provide a good balance to the spice. The weakest part of the meal was our dessert, the bourbon pecan pie which was one dimensional in flavor in relation to everything else we had More...

I've been waiting to stop in here for some time and today was the day. We had lunch at chose to sit in the bar area instead of the dining room. We were immediately taken care of. I guess on Saturday they have a brunch special with bottomless options. I chose the bottomless draft for $15. For lunch I had a half a rack of ribs which came with corn bread and coleslaw. My gf had the sausage (2links) she had the Texas hot link and the chicken sausage also served with cornbread. My ribs were very flavorful and moist (no bbq sauce) you had a variety of sauces at the table to chose from. The sausages were very good, spicy but not overbearing. After all the wait I am sure we will be back to try other items on their lunch menu. More...

We come to TWTC from time to time, and it never disappoints. While it's clear that the enterprise is a well oiled machine, the food remains refreshingly fresh, and the atmosphere vibrant. If you must come, avoid the lines by taking a bit of time off work to a week-day happy hour. You'll wallet will be happier for that choice. The highlight, of course, are the oysters. Try them all, and don't short change yourself. The appetizers, such as the sardines, buratta, or or other offerings, are solid, and serve more to highlight or accent the meal. A worthy stop, should you have come for this place from out of town or if you are a local. More...
