I had the Reuben rolls from Main Event Catering and I fell in love. I didn't think it was possible to improve upon the Reuben but they have. I highly recommend it to everyone. I'd like to try other items on their menu but that would mean not eating more Reuben rolls and that is not ok. More...

I was at 4 stars but the lunch I got today knocked it down to 3. Then, after further thought, I went back to 4 stars because one bad meal won't affect how much I like their food truck. I was at 4 stars due to their burgers and what others have told me about their corn dogs. They always seem to be out of corn dogs but I'll keep trying until I get some. Their burgers are delicious. Top 5 in the city, easily. Even the Tap Out burger is delicious although you can feel your arteries clogging up as you eat it. I almost lowered it to 3 stars because today I tried their Reuben egg rolls. I've seen pictures of them and, being a hardcore Reuben lover since my childhood, I was very interested in trying their unique version. What I received was downright awful. Of the 4 main ingredients (corned beef, kraut, swiss, TI dressing) only one didn't disappoint - the thousand island dressing. The corned beef was pre-sliced store bought factory made corned beef. Totally flavorless and insulting to any Reuben fan. The kraut was also flavorless. No tang or bite that real kraut has. And the swiss was totally absent from what I could tell. I ate one piece and threw the rest away halfway through the second piece.The garlic fries that came with it were tasty, but underdone. Not one single fry was browned so they immediately went soggy. After a bite or two the rest went unfinished.If you love Reubens, stay away from the Reuben rolls. You will be sorely disappointed. Hopefully they'll start making their own corned beef & kraut which would send the flavor off the charts. More...

We discovered the Main Event catering at the fall wedding fair and decided to go with them. The food was delicious, and we made sure to take home all of the leftovers. We went with the chicken with mushrooms, salmon with jalapeño salsa, a couple of their salads, and their garlic knots. Bill and his wife Kimberly were very easy to work with before and during the event. Co-worker won a salad from them so I decided to order along side her. Ordered a salad for delivery and it was amazing! Just what the doctor ordered. Southwest chicken salad has everything you would come to expect (corn,black bean, romaine lettuce, avocado,tomato,chicken,chips, and cheese) and the dressing was light and tasty. The bread roll that's served with it was also very tasty. The salad is 12 bucks or so and worth every penny. I made it down to the 8th & K area today where all of the lunch wagons are set up. Ordered the Turkey Bacon Guacamole sandwich with Garlic fries from the Main Event. Service was great. Friendly and quick. The bread on my sandwich was lightly grilled to perfection. The garlic fries are a great add-on. I'll be back next Friday to try their pastrami burger next week. I have been a few times to their truck this summer. My favorite thing on menu is the bacon jam and brie grilled sandwich. Their cheeseburger eggrolls are pretty delicious as well . I just had a free order of garlic knots delivered to my office. These little bits of goodness are fantastic. They are doing a promotion for office catering with free order on facebook.
