Brunch:French toast with berries and hash browns were delicious.The waffles were dense and lacked flavor. We lathered with syrup and berries and ate them anyway but I wouldn't order them again. The biscuits were inedible. I literally had to spit my first and only bite out into my napkin. Desserts:Oatmeal cream pie and key lime cheesecake were delicious. I came here during my lunch break and as always I was indecisive of what to order. I love vegan food although I don't live a vegan lifestyle, FYI. The staff member at the front was very friendly and patient with me, and had recommended the TexMex burger. The burger patty I had selected was the bean patty, and I added "cheese" sauce to make it a cheeseburger. With the burger came carrots and chips. I also wanted to try their "cheese" cake, in which I got the key lime cheesecake bite for only $1 each (I got 2, hehe). I waited for my order inside where I saw a little market of vegan goods and products on the side of the restaurant. Next time I hope to try some of the items there!I took my order to work and ate it there. I was really surprised with the taste and quality of the burger overall. The bean patty was savory, the "cheese" sauce definitely tasted like cheese to me, and I loved the bun for some reason - it was super good! The chips were also really good. At the end of the meal, I had the cheesecake bites and they were refreshing and delicious. It definitely has a creamy taste that is almost similar to the classic cheesecake. I really enjoyed my meal.Overall, I had a very good experience and I loved my meal. I only wish the price points were a little lower, but I understand that it is for the quality (which is totally here). In the today's climate many restaurants portray themselves as Vegan or vegetarian but when go they just have a modified menu to accommodate that type of lifestyle. Enjoyed trying this vegan meal with a friend. I would not have guessed it was plant based if I did not know and it was filling. Â Nice restaurant to meet for brunch to catch up over coffee. First time visit today. I had my mouth set on tacos but they were only serving brunch until 3 today. I ordered the loaded hash instead with extra bacon. Chef came out & asked if I still wanted the extra bacon because it already had bacon in it. I'd already paid so I kept it (but probably could've gotten some other mix in instead / spinach, avocado, chorizo, etc). The menu didn't include bacon in the description. The food came out pretty quick and I thought the portion size was a little small for the cost but I was really hungry. Whatever the portion size, it was really good - I definitely could've eaten more. Another diner had ordered some kind of waffle stack and said it was really delicious but was so big she'd only made it through half so not all portion sizes are small. This place is right across 121 from Ikea so it's a little far for me to drive from central Dallas but the food is good & would easily justify the drive. More...

This place is an oasis in the desert! Don't get me wrong - there are more choices in this area for food than you know what to do with, but very few of them have as many clean and easy on the tummy options as Viridescent. I like that they don't go crazy with salt and let the ingredients and spices taste as they should taste like. a lot of awesome comfort food items...am waiting to try the nachos but can assure you the bowls are just as filling as the nachos or burgers. I also loved the pumpkin pie. They have a beautiful case of vegan and gluten-free desserts worth trying. I only wish they had some kind of loyalty program so I can justify going there more often. Pricey but good. It's convenient that they have a bunch of vegan snacks to buy too! Typically, I am very pleased with the services of Viridescent; however, the experience I had last Friday night (10.18.19) was displeasing. I get there at 8:50PM, 10 minutes prior to close. Â Business was slow for them at the time and I was greeted with good customer service upon arrival. I proceeded to order their packaged bacon and a burger. When placing the order for the burger, I was informed by another employee that the grill closed at 8:45...What I don't understand is how does a grill close 15 minutes early when the establishment advertises closure is 9:00PM? Services should be rendered up until the point of closure...nobody should be turned away during operational hours when and if food available. That didn't settle too well with me, but maybe it was just the staffing for that night. I just find it totally unacceptable for a business when intended to provide service to people.UPDATE: After speaking to the one of the Co-owners of the restaurant, they truly apologized. The matter was resolved and they were able to make up for my troubles.I will have to go back up there an try the food. But that vegan bacon, though ...that is on POINT! More...

VK is officially my new favorite! We came to the Grand Opening to check it out, and grab some gourmet vegan corn dogs. The vibe and taste were not flukes. I have since had their Figgy Burger (with to-die-for vegan cream cheese), their breakfast tacos, their bacon/pesto grilled cheese, their pumpkin spiced lattes, and lots of yummy vegan treats (oatmeal cream pie, anyone!).The food and people (thanks Johnny and Julianna!) are amazing, and their vision is so worth supporting. I've tried many things on the menu and I've been happy every time! The peace bowl is filling but feels light on the stomach. The figgy burger is my favorite menu item, very unique flavor. Finally a tasteful vegetarian/vegan eatery. I started with the key lime cheesecake desert. It was excellent , yummy and I challenge anyone to say they miss the milk. I ordered the tacos which came highly recommended and they were better than the real meat ones. I had the spiciest one first and even though my mouth was on fire and I normally don't eat anything that spicy, I truly enjoyed it. Mikey Chen needs to come through and give them a taste. Tried a few  vegan restaurants in this area during my stay in the TX area and I have to say Viridescent's kitchen by far has the most flavorful dishes. The prices here are a bit on the steep side, but the quality of their ingredients are worth it.Their staff was very friendly and knowledgeable when it came to their items. The people in my party had very strict dietary restrictions and they were nice about explaining every dish in full detail.The service was great and I appreciated the hospitality here. I've eaten most of the menu at this point, and these are my favorites so far:-- Rustic Bowl with quinoa and greens, but instead of the balsamic glaze, I get a side of nacho cheese to pour over everything! -- The Figgy Burger with portobello mushroom is a wonderful sweet and savory burger with tons of flavor and veggie toppings -- A side nacho with chorizo on top - the vegan chorizo is ridiculous with their homemade nacho cheese and pico-- THE ENTIRE BAKERY SECTION. I need to come back to try their other options as I'm certain everything else has to be very tasty. I enjoyed the Rustic Bowl. Delicious Japanese sweet potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, carrots, spinach and I chose quinoa as my add in. This bowl was well balanced and perfectly seasoned - not overly salty which is super important to me. A healthy meal should never be over salted. One thing I'll pick on for improvement - the black beans. Canned And to contradict myself now, if they are canned as I suspect, I'd prefer them seasoned or salted. The beans didn't offer anything above ordinary and I ate them to put the nutrients in.The ambience here is casual, inviting and clean. To pass some time by while you wait for your order, peruse through their vegan and gluten free goods which are priced fairly. Customer service was great! The nice gal behind the counter was happy, smiled and offered good feedback on the menu items. At the front counter there are delicious baked goods that I could've had one of each, but I had to refrain myself.Overall, I'm pleased with the selection they offer from the pps, entrees, to desserts to satisfy different palates. :) Nice job y'all! I love this new all vegan restaurant. I feel blessed that I live so close because it is easy for me to swing over and pick something up to-go, or just pop over to meet a friend for something good.
