Describe your creative process.
I believe that every design project is like a puzzle that can easily be solved. Solving the puzzle depends on asking the right questions--who is your audience, what is your message, how do you want people to respond, etc. Then the organization part comes in to play by fitting all the deliverables into a schedule and budget.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Depending on the project we may need to create a design brief that outlines the entire scope of the job. A lot of this information needs to be acquired up front in order to estimate on the job. The more information I have the better idea I have of how to approach the design and how much time will be involved in order to reach our goals.
What do you love most about your job?
I love a good creative challenge and feel a great sense of accomplishment when I'm able to present my client with a few design options that meet their needs.
What inspired you to start your own business?
During college I had the opportunity to move to Boston to work at a full-time internship at a small design studio. I learned so much and fell in love with the entire design process. I actually left school to continue working at the studio and then finished my degree in Boston. After getting my BA in Graphic Design I worked as a freelancer at a number of different studios and agencies before I realized that I could do the same thing working directly with my own clients.
