Food was excellent!!!! Buddha soup was truly amazing! It's a must have! So it the eggplant dish and the mushrooms! Definitely recommend it for anyone who's looking for healthy yet delicious and flavorful place! Service was good too!!

This is a staple for me any my other vegan friends in the area. It has a very very large variety of dishes, but the rice/clay pot is definitely the best. You can also get Sjaaks candy inside - if you are looking for some decent vegan chocolate. Although the menu seems like a Chinese Fastfood restaurant, all the items are very well made without any MSG. There are some very healthy items -- Seven Seas Rice / Gluten Free ---Salad with Brown & wild rice, pine nuts, seaweed etc. I couldn't eat any of them individually but these items together perfectly blended into salad.Appetizer -- cauliflower wings -- Mockup of buffalo wings -- This item is good but I felt they should have cooked even more.Pad Thai -- Instead of stir fried regular noodles, it felt more like ramen noodles.Opera cake -- This dessert was delicious with layers of chocolate.cheese cake -- We didn't like this dessert.Overall this is a great Vegetarian restaurant that must be on your list. Was in the neighborhood and am thrilled we got to try this place.  I'm not a vegetarian but am always looking for good vegetarian places as I got hooked on it when I went to Hong Kong YEARS ago - they have by far the best so I'm always on the hunt! Vegetarian House did not disappoint... HIGHLY recommend the Crispy Mushroom Delight (aka fried mushrooms)!  SO GOOD - they cut it like it's calamari - has that kind of look and texture but it's mushrooms...  and combined with the fried basil... YUM...  Loved it and will definitely order this again.  I also ordered the Tom Ka Thai Soup - mild - and while it wasn't overly spicy - it definitely had a hidden spice - my mouth and tongue were saying "yes - more - love that lemongrass flavor and the veggies" and my head was heating up.  i will say - didn't care so much for the fake shrimp - it detracted from my perspective - I'm okay with all veggies - so unfortunately it didn't help the soup at all and was the one negative from my perspective.The spring roll noodle salad was a huge hit - you had some fried spring rolls on the side but the salad itself was with rice noodles and all the spring roll fixings in the salad with the yummy dressing.  I would've loved a peanut sauce on the side - I think it would've taken it over the top at that point!  But overall very light and refreshing!!We ended our meal with the Cheezecake...  unfortunately it looked nothing like what other yelpers had - theirs looked like it had fresh blueberries in it - it was good... light.. not overly sweet.  Just not exactly what I thought it was - a little too plain for me...  you can see from the pic it just blended with the plate - good think for the little mint leaf on the side... as they say - you eat with your eyes first and this one was a bit 'eh"...Will definitely come back if in the hood but wouldn't make a special trip.  Cute decor and I guess they're set up for parties too as there was an event going on while we were there.  OH and we did get the Malaysia Curry Chow Mein to go for my daughter - she LOVED it and wolfed it down - didn't share but it smelled and looked great.  Will definitely try that the next time we come. :) More...

I'm always on the hunt for Asian vegetarian restaurants and Vegetarian House was next on my list to try. I'm a sucker for places that serve vegetarian Vietnamese food since it's all the food I grew up eating, but you've all heard that before in every single vegetarian Vietnamese review I've written so that's not anything new. There are a ton of amazing vegetarian spots in the South Bay. Vegetarian House isn't my favorite, but it's still good. I've tried the Bun Hue which is good, but I have my usual favorite spots for it elsewhere. I've also tried the Claypot Sensation (bean curd wrapped in seaweed simmered in gravy) which is a bit more unique and something you won't easily find elsewhere. Come in and can add your name to the waitlist with a screen or Yelp. Even with that, we were seated quickly. Cauli-power was huge! Tasty. Sweet. Zingy. Cha Cha looked like little shrimps and had crispy breading that didn't lose crunch over time. Nice spice to it too with a carmelized flavor I liked. Easy to hear my dining companion and those around me so I heard of more food I wanna try next time. Quick friendly service. A little odd stuff on the tv but I rather that than than a sports game m'self or news. And I couldn't hear it in the other room. Wow this place is really good it is the first place that I can honestly say did not give me stomachache. Their food must be incredibly clean because I've been to other vegan restaurants and I get a stomach ache still. Okay, this is the best place to eat in San José and it's not close. It really doesn't matter if you're a carnivore or not because everyone I've taken here is and they still love the food. The quality of the ingredients is out of this world and the customer service is terrific. Each time we go, I try a new entree and I'm never disappointed.
