I've never been a fan of lifting weights or going to the gym and only went out of obligation to my health. Working with Zack over the last five months has completely changed all that. I now love lifting weights and I look forward to going to the gym and setting new goals for myself, both in and out of the gym. Not only have I lost weight, tightened my core after having 3 kids, and crushed my initial goal of getting stronger so I can continue to carry both my 4yo boys at the same time, I now have a newfound passion for fitness. I started training with Zack about 8 months prior to my wedding. I was never what I would consider "overweight" but I'd also never been happy with my body image either. Leading up to my wedding, Zack curated workouts for me, helped with my diet/macronutrients, and tracked progress via weigh-ins, measurements, etc. This was really helpful at first, and as I gained more familiarity with my nutrition & physical fitness, I was able to pare down to having Zack simply upload workouts for me on a routine basis which worked quite well. About a year or so later, I can say I have never been happier with my physical appearance. I didn't lose much weight (because admittedly, I didn't have much to lose), but my clothes fit much better, and I wear things I never would have felt comfortable wearing previously! More than that, I feel much stronger and healthier now. I don't need to ask people for help carrying heavy things, nor do I struggle with manual labor! I was even able to run a half marathon which has always been a goal of mine. Throughout working with Zack, he was always very kind, understanding, and happy to adjust workouts/dietary guidance based on my needs/travel plans, he helped me to think about body dysmorphia issues in a healthier light, and he expressed interest in my personal life which made working with a virtual trainer (as opposed to in person) feel much more normal! Zack is an awesome trainer! He is very knowledgeable, professional and creates a workout plan specific to your individual goals and needs. One of the things that I like most is that he takes a holistic approach to fitness and doesn’t just focus on the gym/working out/weightlifting aspect of it. There are other important aspects that tend to get lost by some trainers such as nutrition and getting the right amount of sleep. He is great at finding the perfect balance between challenging and motivating you to work out and give it your all, but without overdoing it and pushing things to the extreme. He has a very down to earth and realistic approach to helping you succeed. Zack will keep you engaged in achieving your fitness goals both inside and outside of the gym and has a ton of useful online materials, videos, and resources that he has created personally. It had been a very long time since I had done any weightlifting or even seen the inside of a gym, so I was a bit nervous and hesitant initially. I have been training with Zack for about 4 months now. It has been a life-changing experience for me. He makes the workouts super fun and super easy; and tailors the workouts based on your goals. Not only that, but he will also give you knowledge on nutrition so you can go about your fitness journey in a holistic manner. In my opinion, a holistic approach is the most important factor when you are trying to reach your fitness goals. Zack is a great trainer! I had just had a baby and wanted to lose the baby weight and he pushed me more then I ever imagined. Not only in the gym but also nutritional habits throughout the weeks. It was great being able to not only see my body start to slim down but to also see muscles I had never seen before. He is also very intelligent when it comes to having to customize your workout. For instance, I have back problems and he was able to adjust the workouts as needed and also incorporate my physical therapy stretches and workouts into our routine. I loved that he would give me "at home" workouts for the days that we didn't meet or for the weekends to better improve myself. I was the person who tried going to the gym on my own but it wasn't ever enough or I just got lazy, so going to him was the best decision I ever made. Now, I'm addicted and couldn't thank him enough! I definitely recommend him as a trainer! I would say the only down fall is... he's a lakers fan. Go Jazz! More...

zack is an excellent personal trainer. he is down to earth and easy to talk to. zack always comes prepared with a wide variety of exercises that rarely repeats. i always left each workout happily sore and proud of my accomplishments. he set up a plan for me to get toned and lose weight. he always made sure i had good form and protected my body when doing new exercises. zack guided my nutrition and encouraged me to lead a healthy lifestyle. i would still be with zack if it wasn't for location change. i would recommend him to friends. First time i tried on my tux was a few months before my wedding i knew i had to make a change.<br>I went looking online and found VBA fitness, not knowing one of my good friends actually goes there. <br>He referred me to Zack. Sat down with him told him i have 6weeks to get ready.<br>He took that challenge that day and we went over what i need to do to lose weight and look good in a tux.<br>He was strict. Made me show him all my meals and what i do outside our biweekly workout sessions.<br>Changed my diet and was more disciplined.<br>He can work with you, scheduling was definitely not the problem.<br>He'll give you a website with workouts there too to make sure youre doing it right.<br>He helped me a lot even after i was done with our contract. <br>I wouldve stayed with him if i didnt move out to Washington. Zack has been my personal trainer now for 7 months. He's really great! He has customized a workout for me around all of my various injuries. He consistently makes sure that I am as comfortable as possible during our sessions. <br><br>VBA has a reasonably flexible cancellation/re-book policy which is super helpful for those of us with challenging work schedules. VBA also includes a nutrition plan and a section of the website for "clients only" that show videos of step-by-step workouts which you can do when you aren't in the gym. Zack is the BEST personal trainer. I have a month long trip to Europe and wanted to look as good as I could. I hired Zack as my personal trainer for three months and so glad I did. I lost 18 inches and gained my confidence back! I was so afraid of going once and not wanting to come back. Zack is so great, he pushes me but also listens. Brittnee is an amazing personal trainer! I live in Ohio, where she grew up and did gymnastics as a kid, and she is always available to send me amazing workouts that kick my butt! She makes amazing plans for my college gymnastics team as well! Brittnee has been my personal trainer for over a year now. She’s amazing at creating adaptable workout routines for anyone’s schedule. I travel a lot and its awesome to have a trainer I can contact and have write me a workout routine to do while backpacking AU and NZ. She’s great at meeting my needs like implementing super sets in my workouts because I hate lifting for more than 45-60min. I can reach out on a weekend I’m traveling and ask what to do when the only resources I have are a set of dumbbells or just a grass hill for sprints! She’s everything you could want in a trainer and her workouts will get you to reach any goal!

I had the privilege to work with Brittnee Hanifin! I am a mom to 7 kids and have been overweight for a while! I knew I wanted to cut the fat and build muscle but I had no idea where to start! I started training with Britnee. She immediately was welcoming and really knew what she was doing! Every session, I not only felt better but I started to change! Zack is such an amazing trainer! I do the hybrid training program with him which is a course that meets every day, for the first week of the month. Afterwards, I follow the exercises he has shown me for the rest of the month(the next three weeks). In addition to our exercises, Zack also continuously keeps me in check to ensure that I am staying on top of my exercises, as well as my diet. Overall, the program with Zack keeps me super motivated and I would recommend this training program to anyone who wants an extra push. More...

After months and months of researching trying to find the best fit for my personal training needs, I finally found Zack! Zack has been my personal trainer for almost a month now and I am getting closer to my goals, which are;  leaner, stronger and to have better diet!<br><br>Zack is a quality personal trainer - he will listen to your goals and will work around it, he pays very close attention to your progress, he is very attentive to your form and most importantly your body. In addition to working my tail off, he provides nutritional coaching (he is a certified nutrition coach) to ensure that the work I put in the gym doesn't go to waste because of bad eating habits. Oh, mind you, i still get to eat ice cream, but he's recommended alternatives to stay within my recommended caloric intake. It's impressive! <br><br>With regards to the workouts, he really knows what he's doing. My workouts are always explosive and I've not seen a day where I'm not sore somewhere. My training sessions (twice weekly) are efficient and extremely well planned. Sometimes I have compound workouts and some session I would have isolation exercises and it definitely works for me! I dig the variety. <br><br>If you are reading this, because you're undecided, I think you should give it a shot. This guy is passionate, really nice and really good at what he does. I should add that the price isn't an issue for me - he's affordable and that's why I also selected him. <br><br>Stop wasting your time dilly dallying at the gym, and see a personal trainer. You won't regret it! If you decide to see him, you'll see yourself doing this rope workout :)<br><br>I'll post again when I'm nearing my results, but that shouldn't be very soon. I've been looking for a certified personal trainer in San Diego for a while now, and I'm really glad I found Zack at VBA Fitness. I chose a workout routine for me that he laid out that was affordable and well within my budget. I've talked to other personal trainers during my hunt and all they seemed to care about is making sales. I personally have tried Crossfit, and gym memberships similar to YMCA and 24 Hour Fitness, but it all felt too impersonal for me. (Hence why a lot of people can't keep their new years resolution.)<br><br>Zack is very authentic and genuinely cares able me making my fitness and workout goals. He's very responsive and positive if I ever have any questions. Whether it's to lose weight, be in shape, or bulk up and gain muscle (my goals), he'll customize the workout for you and your body. He knows what he's talking about, and has all of the fitness and nutrition certifications to prove it.<br><br>He challenges me with many new exercises that I find are very effective. I have not done one standard sit ups but yet my core and abs were sore and burning for two days with the workout he gave me.<br><br>The gym itself is really nice. It's a private gym rented out to personal trainers to work with their clients. There will sometimes be other trainers working with their clients, but it's really down to earth and quiet so you can focus. Everyone I've seen so far ranges from old to young, looking for weigh lose or gain muscle. We're all here to meet our fitness goals and not here to show off, so there's more focus and no intimidation factor. <br><br>So if you're in San Diego and looking for a personal trainer, and want to feel sexy af after a workout. I have been training with Zack for almost a year now and have really enjoyed the experience. First, I’ll start with the gym. I worked with a personal trainer in another state before and the facility was not as nice as this one. The gym is located in Linda Vista and has a great selection of equipment, without the gym feeling crowded. Everything is always clean, including the bathroom/changing area.

As for Zack, he is a very laid back guy who knows his stuff. He has taught me a ton about how to use certain equipment, nutrition, and how to do workouts on my own. I like that he doesn’t make me feel dumb for not knowing something. He will always take time to explain something in a very easy to understand manner.

His workouts are fun and are based around strength training. I was always hesitant to lift heavy because of prior injuries, but after he taught me proper form, I am not afraid to get in there and get dirty! I have gained muscle and strength that I never knew I had and my clothes fit much better than in the past. Thanks for being my personal trainer Zack.

Zack is an awesome trainer! As a mother of two and working full time, I don't have a lot of time for the gym. Zack makes our workouts efficient and fun. As a beginner in the gym setting, Zack takes the time to explain the exercise and how to do it properly, making me feel more comfortable for the times I can get to a gym without him OR when I stay home. The main reason I enjoy training with Zack is that I feel that he genuinely cares about my success. He always has a lot energy and seems eager to help me hit my unique goals. Thanks Zack!

I'm a university student and I was only home for a short time this summer but decided to get a personal trainer anyway just to get to know my body and find workouts that would work for me once I head back to university. I worked with Zack for about 2 months and my results were incredible in such a short amount of time! In even just 2 weeks I could already see that I was getting stronger and fitter. He's a great trainer; super friendly, very encouraging, always accommodating. The gym is also really nice and because it's only used by the trainers, it's usually pretty empty which I loved. We help clients achieve their fitness goals by first gaining a deep understanding of what their goals are. Saying you want to lose 10 pounds is usually not the true goal of the client. "I want to lose 10 pounds so I feel more comfortable in a bikini for my trip to Cabo this summer" is a goal that has meaning to it and that is the person that will commit and really see changes. From there, we will build a strength training program and a nutrition roadmap that you will be able to follow and will align with your goals. We'll be there every step of the way in the gym and in the kitchen for any support you need.

Being consistent, taking it day by day, and realizing it is a long game, not a short game. People that expect quick results may get them in the short run, but long term they usually never last.

Seeing an emotional change in our clients. Seeing the scale move is great, but we love seeing the clients that make a lifestyle change and really dive in. I have always had a passion for fitness and nutrition and have helped friends and family in the gym and with advice on meal prepping, what foods to eat, what not to eat and more.

I always wanted to be personal trainer but having come from a sales background, I never wanted to work at a commercial gym where they make you sell and meet quotas. I opened VBA Fitness and have showcased that being genuine with your clients and truly wanting to help them is all you need to run a successful fitness business.

Because they believe in us and believe in themselves. If you don't trust your trainer, you will fail. If you don't think you can truly change, why hire a trainer? If you believe in both, that's when the good stuff happens!

Yes. My system is ran through an online software where you can access your workouts from anywhere in the world. Between your workout app and our constant communication through email and text, we can stay connected.

The facility I train out of has increased their cleaning schedule and have multiple cleaning stations across the gym. Members are courteous about their space and clean when they are done.
