Wow, let me say it again, WOW!!! Absolutely amazing food. Hubby doesn't like meditterean food but ordered something to appease me. He had a meatball parm rice bowl, he loved it. I had a gyro. The absolute best gyro, i have ever eaten, ever!!  I will def eat here again before we head home. Everything is homemade and outstanding. Gyro is packed full of meat. The tzatziki sauce was super thick and not watered down like at most places. This is my #1 recommendation in PB. This is one of our favorite places to order Greek especially take out. It's a little hole in the wall place off the street, walking distance from the beach. Amazing Food | Low Prices | Good QuantityEveryting tasted good here. My Wife & I were staying 2 blocks away for our vacation in San Diego. We ordered falafel platter. It was humungus. We both shared the dish and were full. The humus was amazingly smooth. It was so good that we took a side portion of the hummus with pita parcel for the next day. Delish - delish - delish! We shared the chicken shawarma salad and lamb kabob platter. Vegetables were fresh, flavorful, & crisp; meat was seasoned and grilled to perfection. The Kabob wrap was amazing! The sauce made all the difference. The place is warm inside and it's self seating and you pay after. The lady working was alone and not very nice. At the end of the first Avengers movie, Tony Stark (Iron Man) saves NYC and as he lies in the street, exhausted, he says this to Captain America, ""Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I want to try it."I didn't save the city or even Garnet Avenue and I didn't know what shawarma was either.  Vanoos knows shawarma. Had two great experiences with this place. Went for lunch a few months back and ate inside. The place got packed and it is a small inside, but the beef schwarma was amazing. Tonight I went again and had the beef schwarma pita and I was worried it wouldn't be enough food but it was amazing (greasy) and super filling and I'm a big guy. I was going to La Perla when I saw they were open late. I ended up eating Mediterranean food on my burrito run and I don't regret it. I tried going to Harvest Market in Clairemont because I didn't want to have to park near Vanoos one day and I ate the same dish here but was sadly let down. Super yummy. Place was completely empty at 9pm on a Thursday night. But boy are people missing out. I got a side of falafel and a side of baba ganoush with pita. The falafel was perfect: crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The baba ganoush was full of flavor and appropriately textured (not too chunky and not too puréed). Wow! The food is absolutely delish...I had the Greek gyro pita wrap and the lamb was so yummy. It was perfectly cooked and the flavor was just right. I also had the falafel appetizer and I can say this, I have never had a falafel that was perfectly crispy on the outside but literally melted in my mouth on the first bite. The inside of the falafel is spft, fresh and again very flavorful.
