I've been with these girls since they were at Kenneth Wildes. So glad they opened this beautiful shop down the street. My step mom is a retired hairdresser so growing up I never had to get my hair cut by anyone else. Once I got to college I started going to salons for my hair cuts. I tried a few different hairdressers before finding Alex. She is the absolute best. She did my hair for years until I moved to Medford, and I just recently went back to her because nobody else does my hair like she does. She listens to your requests and ideas, doesn't do anything without asking, and puts time and effort into making sure your hair is perfect and just the way you want it. I can't recommend her enough. I've been coming here for for about 2 years now, and have had my hair cut by Alex, Armela, and Rose. All 3 are great - professional, attentive, and efficient. I have very straight Asian hair, which is tricky because too few or too many layers means it ends up flat and unhappy. All 3 ladies have been good about working with my type of hair, and trying to get me as close as possible to the random pictures of haircuts I bring in hopefully each time. They don't push products on you, and if you ask nicely they'll give you tips on styling too. The vibe is busy and pleasant; the clientele does skew a little older and suburban but the hairdressers all seem quite trendy. Both my mom and I get our hair cut by Rose. I came to her for the first time this year because I had lost my hair stylist. I desperately needed my hair cut. I called and asked for somebody who deals with thick hair and could dry cut it. She does a fantastic job. It's always a pleasure dealing with her. I can show her a picture, and she knows exactly what I'm looking for. My hair always looks amazing when I leave her chair. (And I'm picky.) I just recently switched to this salon after having an awful experience with a stylist I've been seeing for 10 years.  I honestly couldn't be happier with Vaiani & Clarke. Maria has cut my hair twice and both times she's done an amazing job. I have very thick and coarse hairand Maria totally knows how to cut it so it doesn't poof out or look/feel too heavy. She's super sweet and does such an amazing job.  I also truly enjoy the feel of this salon. All the girls who work there clearly know what they're doing --- everyone always leaves looking amazing! Adelle, Adelle, she is amazing with color! My sister and I would follow her wherever she goes.  Whenever I try someone closer to my home, my hair just can't compare, even if they are using the same products.  I don't know how she does it.  She brings out the richness and depth in the brown and my hair is so soft.  This summer we had some fun with natural highlights! Caring and smart, Adelle is as lovely on the inside as she is on the outside.For an easy to manage, looks great haircut, I recommend Rose. I am so happy to have finally moved away from a ponytail or a boring bob. I have been going to this salon for a few years and I always get the best services. I love it here. I recently became a mom and my schedule has not been flexible. My usual stylist and colorist, Adele was not available but she not only suggested another colorist, Lourdes but also spent time with her talking about my hair and what I like and my expectations. My color came out AMAZING! I went to Gia for a cut and she is truly an amazing artist, as well.  It is so great to be able to be at a salon where you know that no matter who you go to, you will be treated like a princess and walk out feeling like a queen. Katie was the BEST! I came in for a 15 min hair consultation after a 'botch' job by another salon. I was expecting her feedback only, but either due to schedule (or how bad it was ) she took extra time to temporarily fix it so I 1) wasn't over processed 2) could feel better about my hair color. Domingas is amazing. She gives the most beautiful cuts that still look fresh 3+ months after the fact--I've had people ask me if I recently got a cut because the angles of my layers still look so so good. I cannot recommend her enough.

Every woman here is unbelievably talented in her own right but my favorite for my curly haircut is Rose who I have been going to for about 10 years. I started going to Vaiani & Clarke Salon almost two years ago. I see Katie Rossi for my color and she is absolutely fantastic! The entire staff is great and a lot of fun and I never leave unhappy with my hair- and after years of searching for a cut and color that suit me it's such a relief to know I don't have to stress anymore! I always get compliments on my color (seriously, everyday) and I feel so glamorous getting pampered in such a nice area without having to take out a loan to pay for it all. And now that they've added a spa area downstairs I can get massages and facials while I'm there. You do need to book out a little in advance to get an appointment most of the time, especially for the longer services, so I would definitely recommend making your cuts and foils in advance! I've forgotten to do this before though and been added to a waitlist- and this is the only business I've ever been on a wait list for that has actually gotten back to me and gotten me in when I wanted to be. The online booking is a plus too! On a side note, Newton Centre has a great restaurant and shopping scene. You can spend a whole day there and not run out of cute shops to visit and great food to eat! More...

I recently had a blow out here; my office is close to this salon and I had a full day of clients so I wanted to look a little more put together.   I briefly read a review on yelp and decided to take a chance.  I called in the last minute and Alex happened to have a half hour so they booked me.  From the people at the front desk, to the woman who washed my hair, to Alex herself I felt so taken care of.  I needed to be in and out and felt heard.  The salon has a spacious quiet elegance, even the other patrons are friendly.  I asked a woman about her shoes and she happily told me the name and where to get them.  I hope to get a cut here one day if I can bear to leave the woman I have been with for over a decade.  I believe I was sitting next to Nicole and all the patrons she was doing seemed happy and well coiffed. I absolutely LOVE this salon!  I "followed" these ladies to their new salon when they opened 3 years ago.  It's a warm, friendly, but professional experience from the moment you enter this active salon. Great salon. Just had yet another first class experience here. The atmosphere is chic without being pretentious or too trendy, and the stylists are all pros. I have enjoyed great cuts by Domingas, Gia and Katie, as well was gorgeous highlights by Nicole.(Don't tell anyone but Domingas has cut actress Mila Kunis' hair.)The assistants are always attentive to water temperature and some will give you a wonderful head massage during the wash.Expect to pay $70-$80 for a cut and blowout, which is very reasonable for Newton Centre. I saw Katie B. for a haircut yesterday. I had been seeing somebody in the South End who did a great job, but it just became a pain to get down there. After reviewing salons in the Watertown/Newton area, I found this one. I am always apprehensive with new salons as I have had some butcher jobs. Katie did an awesome job. I have long, curly, fine hair, but a lot of it. She cut it exactly how I wanted, and was a bit conservative with my first cut with her (which I appreciate). She even said if I didn't think she took enough off to please let her know, and left me with her card. The salon itself was clean, friendly, and had a nice selection of products. They gave me a gown to wear while I cut my hair to make sure my clothes didn't get dirty or pieces of hair got stuck in i, which was a nice touch. I also appreciated that Katie never pushed me to buy products, but gave some great suggestions once I asked. I will absolutely return and suggest the salon (especially Katie) to friends. More...

i've had a keratin treatment and a haircut by domingas, and a keratin treatment by alex - both so FABULOUS! i even had an issue with the shampoo i was using and domingas had me come in; she wash/dried my hair to make sure the keratin was intact. she was so professional about it even when she probably knew that the keratin was fine and my shampoo choice was the problem (needless to say, i left my appointment with some more appropriate product)!the decor is pretty, the staff are all so glamorous with their gorgeous hair/makeup/outfits/high heels, and they don't make me feel yucky when i show up in yoga pants and a hoodie likely encrusted in baby food. i can tell they are all great at what they specialize in, and they have a cohesive team making for a positive atmosphere. I am not one to typically write reviews, but I have had such a wonderful experience both times that I've visited Vaiani & Clarke that I felt very motivated to share! In early February I stumbled across Vaiani & Clarke's page after searching for months for a salon I could trust. Thank goodness I did! My very first interaction with the front desk staff when I called was fantastic. Their energy, eagerness to help book an appointment that fit my schedule, and positivity made me very confident that I had chosen the right place. I saw Alex for my hair cut (I was going for a drastic change, cutting my very long hair to shoulder length), and she was terrific!! She is very professional, easy to talk to, and extremely talented. I walked away with a new hair cut that I absolutely adore--I won't trust anyone else with cutting my hair from now on! :)Just this past weekend, I visited Vaiani & Clarke again, this time for a color with Nicole. I had heard amazing things about Nicole's work, and I can now see why! After sharing a couple ideas of what I wanted, but not knowing exactly what would suit me best, Nicole came up with a fantastic plan for my hair that we were both comfortable with and excited about. I had such a wonderful time! Nicole is down to earth, professional, super easy to talk to, and clearly knows what she is doing.
