I had a burger served with mushroom caps in place of buns and a bloody Mary. My husband had a pork chop with mashed potatoes and we shared homemade pita chips and hummus for an appetizer. Everything was delicious and we had plenty of leftovers to take home. Hope to go back again soon. More...

The BBBQBB with black bean burger is hands-down the best veggie burger I’ve ever had at a restaurant, and I’ve had many over the years. (Note: this has bacon, which I eat a couple times a year, but our friendly server offered to take it off if I wanted it 100% vegetarian.) I thought there was no way I’d eat the whole thing, but it was so delicious I did. Dear golly, you could sell me VATS of that BBQ sauce. Ask for a knife and fork and dig into one yourself! More...

The Vagabond is by far the best place in the Ohio valley to eat. The food is top notch! I had the fried calamari in the Thai chili sauce. Lightly breaded, tossed in the sauce, and fried to a golden perfection. It didn't last 5 minutes on the table! Dinner was the blackout burger. Sautéed onions, wilted spinach, and delicious havarti cheese. The bun makes or breaks a burger, the brioche bread was fresh to keep the giant burger together and not get soggy. The flavor profile is perfectly balanced from the richness of the havarti and sautéed onions offset by the balsamic reduction acidity to make for a tongue cartwheeling meal. I'm not much of a French fry eater but the waffle fries combined with the secret weapon of homemade fry sauce is delicious. I had a loaded Bloody Mary with my meal that's made with a WV made mix. It came with bacon, pickle, peperoncino , and olives. The owner Chef Matt came out and checked on our table to make sure everything was to our liking, it was a nice personal touch. If you are traveling through or live in the area The Vagabond Kitchen has to be your go to restaurant for world class food! Can't wait to go back. More...

Had a great time in this comfortable friendly restaurant. The food is delicious from beginning to end.  Garlic truffle waffle fries and fried green beans are mouth watering and tasty. The burgers are cooked perfectly and was the best I've had in the Wheeling/ohio/pa area.  Wonderful staff, and reasonable prices. Spectacular presentation. Definitely a must visit. We had watched Chef Matt compete on Guy's Grocery Games and I was really impressed...so much so that made a point of going to Vagabond Kitchen on a trip to Wheeling.  The staff was wonderful, and the featured burger was his "Total Eclipse of the Art".  That was the best burger I have ever had and the Garlic Truffle Waffle fries were impeccable.  I can't wait to go back again for his next creation.  My only regret is that they don't carry a non-alcoholic beer.  Perhaps a local brewery could create a special IPA just for that purpose? The food here is very delicious, but the real treat is the friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. We were greeted with warm, friendly faces, and treated like family by everyone we interacted with. Their menu offers an eclectic blend of dishes, some of which you won't find anywhere else, that without a doubt is sure to please anyone's palette. Amazing food, drinks and service. I did not expect to find such an amazing restaurant there. I looked like a little diner, which I love diners, so we went I was not let down. saw the great menu amd thought it couldn't possibly be any good. it wasnt. it was AMAZING. LOVED this place! Solid 5 stars. It wasn't busy when we hit it, so the wait for food was't bad at all. I've heard it can be a little slower when they're busy though, so plan accordingly! The truffle fries and ranch alone were enough to make me happy (we added bacon because... well ) We also had the duck wings in Szechuan sauce- so good!
