This is my first time trying Uzbeck cuisine and the food was good. The flavors were mild and aren't as spicy as some of the other cuisines. But never the less both chicken and lamb Shashlik were moist and well seasoned. I enjoyed the grilled veggies in Vegetable Shashlik and the palov. I did not enjoy the grilled zucchini (appetizer) and vegetable Manti.Their desserts were the best. I would highly recommend the honey cake and Salame.The chef was a bit pestering though. At one instance he was selling his catering deal for next office event and another time he wanted us to order some more items off his menu. Probably he was trying to be funny but it fell flat. Was out running errands in the area and noticed this restaurant passing by, Uzbekistanian food is by no means mainstream in the states and I was curious to try! This restaurant is absolutely amazing! My dad and I went on a Friday for a late lunch and were surprised to have the restaurant all to ourselves. The food and service were beyond great and somewhere we’d both definitely drive from San Antonio to Austin to enjoy again. The restaurant was clean and charming, and we ordered a fresh rasberry/cranberry fruit juice suggested by our waitress, the lamb shashlik, and this beef appetizer that looked like an empanada. The juice was one of the best I ever had, more refreshing and tastier than lemonade, and we both were amazed at how tasty both dishes were! The best part was how sweet and hilarious without being intrusive our waitress was. At the end of our meal the chef came out and was just as warm and friendly as well! Go to this place! Seriously good food. I am no expert at Uzbek food, but I know good food when I eat it. Everything was super good, but definitely try the shashlik, the dumplings and the dulma ( cabbage wrapped rice with beef).

This restaurant is unjustly ignored because of its location in a back corner of the Strip Center that it is in. It is family-operated by a husband and wife and two sons. Their menu items are delicious, especially the mushroom salad, the beef dumplings. I've been going there for quite a while and I have not had anything but a good meal for very reasonable prices.
