We booked this during a stop over on our way south. Wanted to warn people that it was not convenient to parking as you had to walk approximately a couple of blocks. Building and rooms showed signs of wear. Not convenient to downtown, only to the Darden section of campus. About 15 to 20 min to downtown. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Although you had to walk to a different building for breakfast, it was by far the best breakfast we ever had at a hotel! This buffet had everything. It was all very fresh. We had a marvelous time. The breakfast buffet bar was superior. The chef who made the omelets did a superb job. The house keeping staff did an outstanding job cleaning the room. There was a very short distance to walk outside to the breakfast location and the parking garage, but that was very pleasurable due to the University of Virginia setting. This area is extremely safe for exploring the beautiful campus grounds and surrounding neighborhoods. More...

Once we got used to the fact that the elevators could be very confusing because the several connected buildings on an incline maintained the same floor numbers throughout. After checking in we were directed to the highest of the buildings where the numbered floors were 3, 4, and 5. We entered on 4 and took the elevator down to our room on 3. Die Uni hat Gästezimmer - und wenn diese nicht für eigene Zwecke genötigt werden, dann wird das Ganze auch eben mal noch ein Hotel ; -)Wir waren etwas überrascht davon., das Zimmer tatsächlich auf dem Gelände der Uni zu bekommen - aber warum auch nicht. Die Anmeldung zu finden, ist nicht so einfach. Man muss schon genau auf die Schilder achten... Parken kann man dort eigentlich nicht, sondern weiter weg um die Ecke. Das Gebäude mit den Zimmern neben dem der Anmeldung hat aber auch noch einen Eingang "hinten raus" - der ist dann näher am Parkplatz.Das Zimmer ist ok, der Preis aber auch etwas höher. Die Ausstattung ist besser als in den günstigen Motels, die Klimaanlage aber leider nicht. Wir hatten zudem einen krass lauten Luftentfeuchter im Zimmer (warum...?), den wir direkt abgestellt haben.Zur Unterkunft gibt es sonst keine Kritik - außer zum WLAN, welches wohl Campus-weit nicht funktionierte. Über einen Hinweis beim CheckIn dazu hätten wir uns gefreut, dann wäre der erneute Weg dorthin nicht umsonst gewesen.Unweit von der Uni gibt es eine kleine Mall mit Supermarkt und Starbucks - Frühstück ist also unnötig.
