For the past 2 years or so, Erin has been the only hairdresser I've trusted for my cut/color. I've had both natural tones and bright colors from her as well as several different types of cuts and my hair always looks amazing! She knows what she's doing for sure! Prices are good too. Erin has always done an amazing job with my hair! And my hair has been everything from a very short pixie cut dyed sapphire blue to just beyond shoulder length ashy blonde and every other color and length in between. She’s extremely professional and knowledgeable and will shoot straight with me if the picture I show her isn’t achievable or will damage my hair. I completely trust her judgement and expertise. I was just there after a woman who had unrealistic expectations and a bad case of never had heard the word no had her appointment cancelled. Even with her p whipped husband who has to constantly be around her because she can't function in life without him were asked to leave the salon, I'm guessing this isn't the first time they had been escorted from a salon before. My $25.00 men's haircut with a beard trim, wash, and a lovely orange scented hot towel so my beard looks good was amazing. Erin even used some heaven in a bottle to shape my hair for me since she called me letting me know I could move my appointment up a day and go straight to work because Jen "just can't even"! Even with the bad vibes of a person who can't be made happy and the slight echo of the words "how dare you!" Still in the air I was taken aback by how much attention to detail Erin put towards my cut. This is my go to spot from now on. I encourage more Karen's to make appointments here towards the end of the month so I can sneak in after they leave without the benefits of a cut from a true pro like Erin. Service is always quick, warm and affordable! Whenever I'm in town, I ALWAYS hit up this spot. The hard wax doesn't irritate my skin and for the most part, all hair is removed. They sell an exfoliating pad that I thought was just being pushed so I could spend more money, but trust me, it is worth it. It prevents ingrown hairs and makes future better. More...

I went today to get a "new look". I wasn't sure what i wanted, I just knew I needed a change. Chris took great care of me. I've worn my hair in some version of the same way for at least 15 years. Wow just wow! I've been to plenty of hair salons and I've never been somewhere that treats you SO WELL! I was asked at least every 30 minutes if I need water, coffee, tea or a snack. Miriam and Lily were FABULOUS. They are AMAZING hair stylists and managed to accomplish what I've been wanting for years in one session. I already can't wait to go back. This place is my go-to for any hair situation. Everyone in the salon are the sweetest souls you'll ever meet and treat you like you like you just walked in off the red carpet. While all of the hair magicians are wickedly talented Miriam and Lily are definitely my girls. I always walk in never knowing what I want to do and they will bounce ideas off eachother and work as a team to figure out what would work best for me and make sure I look amazing no matter if it's a simple cut or a world rocking color change. It's taken me forever to find a hair place that does a good job, uses great products, and is local. Urban Gypsy is nestled within the narrow streets of Broadripple and offers haircuts, hair treatments, massages, and more. I've gotten my hair cut and colored here now three times and each time I've received many compliments. I love how the color and cut turn out each time and I enjoy the time spent here. It's a relaxed environment that makes me feel comfortable. I found that there is a lot of detail in care put into each session. With that being said it does sometimes take a little bit longer when I compare to other places I've been to get similar services. Urban Gypsy has now come through for me in a pinch twice! Need I say more? The staff is so friendly and accommodating. They accepted my last minute appointment requests (one made through yelp! ) and were patient when I got stuck in traffic and was running late to my latest appointment. After my first visit, I was emailed a coupon which led me to schedule the second visit. On both occasions I had my eyebrows waxed. I was in and out quickly. They take good care of their clients and I always leave in a good mood. Urban Gypsy is hands-down the best hair salon I have ever visited, for the following reasons:1) The place is super cozy and the atmosphere is friendly. You can tell that the stylists like each other and like their customers. 2) I came in with very long hair (always been long) and wanted a pretty drastic pixie cut. Most stylists I've had in the past have actively tried to deter me from cutting my hair short. I have been struggling to find a hair salon in Indy and am so glad I came across Urban Gypsy! Chris is amazing and is truly knowledgeable about color, products, hair care, etc. He colored and cut my hair and I love how it turned out. He made sure my highlights were not streaky and took the time to add very thin foils for a natural look. He also did a great job with layering my hair. My fiancée and I have been to multiple places in Indy and hated the vibe of salons. Additionally, I work an insane schedule during the week and could not find a salon to consistently fit me in on the weekends. Urban Gypsy is a great break from the clinical feel and the staff are personable and fun! I own my own company and travel to Indy from the west coast often. Last week I needed to get waxed and was away from my usual waxing spa in LA. After calling over FIVE different locations, I finally found a place that was open and catered to a professional business woman's working hours. Urban Gypsy got me an appointment that very day. The wax was painless and perfect. Because I have incredibly sensitive skin, I normally end up with ingrown hairs for the next couple of weeks, no matter what I do for post-care. But truly, I have had NO ingrown hairs, and my experience at Urban Gypsy was better than my waxing specialist in LA.
