I’m not one to leave reviews. But in this case,UpMyInfluence, Inc. definitely deserves a positive review for their commitment to extraordinary customer service. When I call in, no matter who I speak with, they are always courtesy and friendly. They go out of their way to make sure my questions are answered. But what I love most is just how they make me feel. They really make me feel important, that my business means something and is special to them. And the results they’ve delivered be are well beyond what they promised in the beginning. What do you love most about your job?
We enjoy seeing our clients become media celebrities. We enjoy democratizing an old industry for our audience - who has been poorly served. The old guard system of extracting tons of billable hours and demanding long-term contracts is ending.
What inspired you to start your own business?
You can watch my video as I share my story @ UpMyInfluence.com - but here's what happened:
When I started my other company SavingsAngel.com, I had no money for advertising. I was broke - but I had a great mission and service. I started reaching out to local media instead. It worked! I started getting segments on local radio, TV and started a newspaper column.
Today, I've been in the media over 2,000 times and we've generated more than $6M in revenue - with less than $500 spent in advertising. All we do is PR.
Along with our success, I attempted to hire PR professionals - imagining that if I hired a 'professional' I could really gain some great success. $25K later, I got one good introduction to a reporter and I got to speak at a lawn & garden show.
We owned our own PR and I started serving pro bono in the Orlando, FL startup community - helping other great business owners grow their visibility and influence. It worked - and they started offering to hire me. I went from consultant to agency - and today, we operate a service and serve a large community of businesses across the globe.
We also have become a service provider to other PR firms - both for their clients and for the firms themselves.
