Dr. Kathy is such a wonderful chiropractor and human! She is very gentle with her adjustments. Dr. Kathy will not force the body to adjust, if the body is being stubborn she will find alternate ways to get the body aligned. She has worked on and adjusted bones that my other chiropractor never thought of, like my collarbones (since I'm a mother and carry around car seats). Not only does she work on adjustments, but gives great advice on how to improve in many ways from how to carry my car seat to the shoes I should be wearing. She wants your body to function successfully outside of her clinic. She also takes extra time to massage muscles so the bones don't get pulled back into misalignment. I am in healthcare for almost 20 years now and seeing Dr. Kathy is the only thing that keeps me practicing in regards to my body.  Four instance, I woke up one morning with deep inside my shoulder I had an ache. Over the next couple of weeks it got worse and worse and I thought to myself, "here we go i'm going to need rotator cuff surgery at some point".  Remembering that she always makes me feel better when I see her consistently I give her a call.   She gets me in her chair and within two minutes rotates my arm and tells me your clavicle is out! I have no idea how this could happen while I was sleeping but it did.  She  rotates my arm and does something with her hand that was very gentle and the pain was gone and never returned. It makes me wonder how other people get by without having a Dr. Kathy. If I would have let that be it would have turned into a chronic real problem and probably would have needed some other type of intervention, surgical or otherwise.  She helps me with my jaw tension and clenching as well as my neck pain. She is amazing! I highly highly recommend her and I am not sure what I will ever do if she ever retires! More...

Outstanding first visit with Dr. Paula Rivera, providing significant relief to lower back pain (as well as worked on stiff neck).  Dr. Paula was very patient, as I provided extensive background into my health history.  She is very caring and knowledgeable, I took away a few simple exercises that will help (thank you for not inundating me with too many exercises).  Austin at the front desk was also very nice and helpful.  I look forward to many more visits to Unity Chiropractic, it is clear they can help me! Was visiting family in the area and was recommended to Unity by a friend of the family. SO grateful! My story in short: woke up one day last week in NJ and did who-knows-what and hurt my back. Problem, as I had a cross-country flight to PDX later that day. Flight was a total misery because of my back! Next day, I was recommended to Unity. Dr. Paula was able to take me right away and did such a thorough job that I felt much better immediately. Went back the next day for a follow-up and felt even better. This office is a gem! Everyone including the front desk is super nice and kind. Dr Kathy is amazing! We just moved here and I wanted to continue chiropractic care for my 2 month old. Dr Kathy was recommended to my by my old chiropractor in California. Dr Kathy is such a caring and attentive person. She clearly cares about her patients, she's very knowledgeable and skillful and loves kids. She is now officially our new chiropractor and I am so happy we have found her!! More...
